We were in town for the holiday season and decided to stop by here for breakfast. This is such a cute spot with amazing service and food. I think we'll keep this on our list for when we come back in town next year!

I can't beleive it's taken me this long to write a review for Fork Hill. It's my neighborhood gem, that I feel so lucky to have so close to home. I've never had a bad experience or meal here. Family owned and run, you can feel all the love and thoughtfulness they put in to this place through the ambiance, service, and food. The menu changes seasonally which I love. I love the level of creativity they put in to creating their menu/dishes. Making sure everything is seasonal and not catering to whatever is trending at the moment, as well as switching up enough where I can try something new, but also look forward to trying some things again next season. I've come here plenty of times already for both lunch and dinner, brunch isn't my thing...but they have that too and I'm sure it is just as delicious. I've tried the chicken sandwich, the short rib, duck, and lamb, and other dishes which have all been delicious. My favorites being their short rib, the duck, and mushroom salad. The short rib is so tender and the polenta creamy and flavorful. The duck was incredible with the crispiest skin, my only note would be that it came with cabbage and a sweet potato apple puree which although complimentary to the flavors with the duck was a little bit too sweet of a combo for me. The mushroom salad is great, those mushrooms have so much flavor, the dressing and pomegranates bring the perfect burst of tang to the rich and meaty mushrooms. Shrimp & Grits is another favorite of mine, great blackened flavor and creamy grits. Their cocktails are great too, a large variety and the bartender is very knowledgeable and knows how to guide you through their options. Truly high quality food that is not overpriced, this neighborhood needed something that was a step up from fast casual with out the nyc prices, that just don't suit this community. Whenever I want a great meal and want to stay close to Home, I come here. Whether it's to treat myself to a great dinner or get some work done remotely during lunch this is my go to spot. Portion sizes are just right, the food is to good to leave any left overs. Can't go wrong with apple Cobbler or chocolate mousse, everything tastes like it's made in house. My biggest flowers and compliments to the chefs putting everything together behind the scenes. Parking can be intimidating at first since it's the middle of a residential neighborhood but it's not impossible. If you turn right on the corner of the restaurant and drive down the hill, you'll eventually find something even if it means a long walk back up. It's worth it! The first time I came here I only had Apple Pay and my phone died, I was so stressed, but they were so kind, passed no judgement and found me a charger. I'll always appreciate that. I've typically been served by the bartender with long black hair, she's very genuine and great at keeping conversation. When I sit down I'm typically served by a very sweet waitress with an accent that I think is Irish(but I'm probably wrong lol) she is also very genuine and warm. I'll be back, as always, highly reccomend if in the area, support a small family owned business!

Overall ambience was great. Food had great flavor. Pork chop was a little dry (but it's really hard to get a good pork chop). Stone fruit salad was seasonal and had a balance of sweet and crunchy (with nuts) One star less as parking was scarce on a Sunday night and it took us 15 mins to get a spot.

We love this place!!! We have been a lot and every time it is perfect! Victoria is one of the best waitresses out there. Service is always great. Chef is spectacular! Food is absolutely delicious. Ambiance cozy and inviting. Owners are delightful! If you haven't tried this place, you are missing out.

Steak & Eggs (~$20)

Ordered: Lavender Martini (~$16): Corgi Bee Blossom gin, lavender simple syrup, elderflower liqueur, and lemon juice Steak & Eggs (~$20): NY strip steak, two eggs, hashbrown, and chimichurri sauce Aya's take: Cute little spot in the neighborhood! We stopped by for brunch with a reservation, although it wasn't needed since it wasn't busy. The Lavender Martini wasn't memorable and the color was a bit off. It was more of a gray than a violet/purple that I was expecting. The flavor was nice and light. The Steak & Eggs was a solid choice and priced right! The steak was cooked to a perfect medium and the eggs were a perfect sunnyside up. The chimichurri sauce complimented both well. I absolutely loved the hash brown; it tasted very homemade - I've never had one like it before.

My husband and I ordered the FHK Burger and Cornmeal Pancakes (with fresh fruit for an extra $3). The burger was very very salty so that was a small letdown, but it tasted very homemade. The cornmeal pancakes were delicious, although I was a little disappointed that the fresh fruit for $3 extra were just tiny cut up apples in the pancakes. Food was 3-4 out of 5 stars imo. Taking two points off because of service. We came in with a cup of coffee from home, and the hostess (owner?) said "you cannot bring in outside food or drinks, it's a health code violation." I've never heard of that before in this town but even if it was true, I wish she said it slightly kinder. Then, when my husband's burger came out, the waiter (co-owner?) offered my husband a steak knife and said "in case you want to cut your burger... or stab her" (me, his wife!). Wow what a not funny joke, I felt offended and like why would you put that comment out into the world. Anyways, we will not be back:(

This little Honey Hole will totally surprise you. The menu is creative but simple and your palate will thank you for the gift. Plates are well portioned and superbly balanced in flavor. Kitchen staff puts as much attention into presentation as they do preparation of every dish. Service by entire front staff is friendly, accommodating and menu knowledgeable. The owner Ed takes great pleasure insuring that you have a pleasant visit as if you were dining at his home. The open kitchen concept completes the home dining experience. Seating is comfy for small groups and outdoor seating available (weather permitting), you can also dine seated at the bar. Visual and audio entertainment is kept at a level that permits conversation with the rest of your party. FHK is a little gastro treasure find that will not disappoint whether Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Be sure to greet Ed and thank him for creating this gastronomical oasis. Yummy Tummy!

Rigatoni
Nonya B.

Food was not really good. The rigatoni had peas in it and a flavorless cream sauce. The spicy chicken sandwich wasn't worth the money and wasn't anything special. Brussel sprouts were good, but it's hard to mess that up. There were not a lot of vegetarian options. We got margaritas that tasted like hotel breakfast buffet orange juice. Service was fine otherwise. Ambiance was cozy. It can be hard to find parking.

Stoped here for a nice dinner. It's very close to home. What a nice spot. The staff was delightful and the food was great. Loved the look and feel of the place. The mussels were great and the swordfish special was amazing. Drinks as well had a great selection. I'm looking forward to many more meals here. I highly recommend stopping by.

Always passed by but first time stopping in. We came to celebrate Father's Day and were warmly welcomed. The interior is nicely decorated and inviting. Food was freshly made, from scratch, and seasoned well. The Partner Ed was a pleasure to chat with and such a genuine guy. Kudos to the chef and cooks as the food was solid and what I enjoyed was their take Steak and eggs. The steak was cooked to my ideal temp and rested. The sauce was balanced did not overpower the steak. The hash-brown was crispy and loved their take on it. They used good coffee grounds and staff were warm and friendly to kids. See y'all next time!

Very nice find in this residential neighborhood. I was visiting friends who had just moved to Union City and we were so happy to find this spot for brunch. The service was excellent and the dishes were hearty and delicious. We were a large group and tried a variety of dishes- from the breakfast-y items to the lunch-y items. Favorite dishes were the FHK Burger which has double smashed beef patties, the chicken and waffles, grain bowl (with chicken), and the salad (with chicken added). The preparation of the chicken on all three dishes with chicken was excellent. The crab cake benedict and the crab cake sandwich were nice. Of the dishes we ordered, the steak and eggs were least favorite. I ordered medium rare and would've preferred the exterior to have a little more texture/crisp than what I got. Aside from that, the chimichurri sauce and over easy eggs were perfect; and the hash browns were crunchy and tasty. I'm interested to try their dinner menu.

How's the parking situation at this restaurant for dinner on a weekdays? Thanks!

Street parking. I usually find a space within a few feet of the place but there are new buildings going up so that might change over time.

While the place had outdoor seating, it was a bit too warm on that day to really enjoy it, so I grabbed us a table inside instead. The restaurant was very dark with only candlelight to illuminate the menu. The acoustics were also not amazing, as the room was extremely loud. However, aside from that, the space had a really hip, seductive vibe. It was also no longer BYO and now offered all sorts of unusual wines, craft beers, and intriguing cocktails. Like on my last visit, we were blessed with a really professional, friendly server. He was a complete delight and indulged my request to try tastes of both the prosecco and Grüner Veltliner before committing to one or the other. Though both wines were complex and delicious, I selected the crisp Casa Coste Piane "Col Fondo" Prosecco from Veneto, Italy. My friend and I decided to share two pasta dishes. The Cavatelli was served with a Moroccan-spiced lamb ragu and topped with sprinkles of sheep's cheese from nearby Nettle Meadow Farm. I was told to mix the cheese into the rest of the ingredients, which were warm and allowed it to melt into a gooey delight. The lamb sauce was so multi-dimensional and really paired well with the funky cheese. It was a delicious plate. We also shared the Triangoli alla Trapanese, which was essentially triangular shaped ravioli that were stuffed with goat cheese. The delicate dumplings were then plated with fresh black mission figs and drizzled with tangy Villa Manodori balsamic vinegar. It was such an unique pasta creation that was truly another winner. Though I sampled less items than on my last trip to Flour, I loved every moment of my experience. From the cool crowd and buzzing atmosphere to the modern Italian food and new beverage list, the restaurant was a real gem.

I was a big fan of both, especially the ricotta, which was so incredibly creamy. For the mains, everyone's fresh-made pasta was excellent. I ordered the Mexican street corn, which was unique, flavorful, and delicious. I also tried some of the spicy rigatoni and loved it. We ended the night with the s'mores dessert, which was rich and chocolatey. Also, the fact that the restaurant is BYOB is a huge plus! The only downside was that I lost an item during our visit. I had a really hard time finding their contact information online, so I had to go back in person to ask about it, which was a bit annoying. Ultimately, they weren't able to recover it, but the food itself was still outstanding.

The food was excellent! The menu has so many options for different tastes and palettes. It also seems like they rotate dishes depending on the season which is pretty impressive. Both times we split the beet salad and their cacio e pepe as an appetizer. The cacio e pepe was one of the tastiest I've ever had. The fact that they used mezze rigatoni instead of angel hair is a nice touch. I prefer rigatoni anyway, and it gave the pasta that extra something-something, plus the ridges helped soak up all that sauce. It had just the right amount of peppery bite too. I also opted for the hangar steak - holy moly! Tender, cooked just right, and the fried potatoes were to die for. Both times, the servers was extremely attentive. Also, the place itself is small but cute. I like that there are different sections to sit in - at the bar, towards Bloomfield, in the back with all the windows. It was a light, summery appetizer in which the earthiness of the beets was offset beautifully by the bright citrus notes. My steak was cooked perfectly to medium-rare, was well-seasoned, and was taken up an extra notch by the delicious peppercorn sauce. The branzino was also a big hit with both people who ordered it. They praised the dish at length, and one person kept going back for more bites even after announcing she was stuffed! Our server was vivacious and happily chatted with us about the many menu options, giving us tips about the most popular dishes not just among customers, but the staff as well. She was great! There was only one other family dining, and the space stayed empty the entire time. The service was genuinely great. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and a really cute, cozy space. I especially loved the Christmas décor and overall vibe--it felt warm and inviting. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the prices. The house salad was $13 and honestly one of the most basic, smallest, and most boring salads I've ever had--very underwhelming for the cost. We also ordered quesadillas, a cheeseburger with fries, and grilled cheese with tomato soup. My son enjoyed the burger and fries, and the quesadillas were flavorful, generously filled with chicken and veggies, and came with sour cream, pico, and guac. The tomato soup was tasty, while the grilled cheese was just okay. One small but appreciated detail: canned soda. Cold, crisp, and not flat which is always a win. Lunch for 3 came in just under $100, which felt high given what we received. One frustration was being seated in a tight corner right next to the kitchen even though the dining room was completely empty. We were so close I could literally see into the kitchen and count items on the shelves. On top of that, the hostess repeatedly walked by calling out "corner," which became distracting and honestly a bit irritating. Overall, I liked the vibe, but the food-to-price ratio missed the mark for me. It wasn't bad--just alright.

It actually rotated (very slowly) throughout the meal so I was able to enjoy an entire 360-degree view of the restaurant (more than once). Our server, George, was fantastic! He gave excellent recommendations and when there was a song playing that I couldn't Shazam, he wrote the name of it down for me! My cocktail, Frequent Flyer, was 10/10 and the perfect mix of sweet and tart. Someone could easily order those all night long since it was masterfully crafted and wasn't overpowered with alcohol. For starters, I ordered the Ceviche sushi roll. It had all of the flavors of Peruvian-style ceviche and had a lovely presentation. My entree of skirt steak with polenta fries was seamlessly executed. I ordered the steak medium-rare and it had the right amount of char with the meat being very tender. The chimichurri sauce was a really nice accompaniment. Although I was full, I was able to muster up some room for dessert and had the bourbon apple bread pudding. It was really lovely and the perfect way to end an amazing meal. I'd return to Drift in a heartbeat and would highly recommend it.

Dined last night at Drift to celebrate a friend's birthday and elopement. We were a party of 9 and…read morethey were able to accommodate our reservation outdoors as there was space (Outdoor dining is first come/first serve). This was my first time here, though I've been to Blu on the Hudson a few times so I felt Drift's menu and interior was a copycat of Blu. Unfortunately, the service at Drift was very poor, compared to Blu. Although the large restaurant was fairly empty inside and not at full capacity outside, service was slow and absent. Our waitress barely came by and neither did the bus boys - finally when I got up to refill my own cup of water, he darted over. There were multiple times my water glass was empty and no one in sight to offer a refill. Even the manager got a little attitude with me when I asked him to bring out new utensils (ours were cleared with our appetizers). We'd had already been waiting a while for our entrees to come and I could just anticipate all of our entrees coming out and us having no silverware to eat them with. Moving to the food, I thought the food was generally good, although not the best value. The rice balls were tasty but on the smaller side - they come 4 to an order. The whipped ricotta was yummy but the small plate of 4 pieces of focaccia is not sufficient for the amount. It's $2 for each extra plate of 4 slices. The rice cakes weren't as good as the ones at Blu. The beet salad was less of a salad and more like a plate of Greek yogurt with garnish around it - would not recommend. For entrees, several of us ordered sushi rolls. I thought the happy ending, Miyazaki and aloha rolls were good. My friend did not like her king California roll. The branzino and sea bass portions were small for the cost. We didn't order dessert since the meal moved so slowly and it was already late by the time we finished our entrees. We had to wait a while to get our check and then we got out of there. They also should have someone who checks the bathrooms regularly and tidies them up - the stall I went into was out of toilet paper in both dispensers and instead of replacing the empty rolls, they left the new one the dirty floor. All in all, I don't think I'd come back here again when practically the same restaurant is next door and I had better experiences there.

Sporty neat and the table was cool with all the imbedded old ticket stubs! All in all very good place. Girl working there was also very helpful and nice! I would go back!
