I had this wool vest my mom used to wear and I had it cleaned many times down south. The color of the back was dark lavender to grey. I always thought it was the way the material was dyed. Well, I was wrong. When I had Lakewood Cleaners clean it, the colors became more vibrant and the grey is gone. The owner asked me about the color when I brought it in the first time but I just shrugged. Now I know why. She did what she did and it looks a lot better. I also come here to get my clothes fixed, hemmed, etc. She always gets it right. I don't know what I'd do without her.

When I questioned him about the $5 increase, he said he was actually going to charge me $40 but took money off b/c there was a mixup on getting back to me about when the jeans were done. He said he was going to charge more b/c the seamstress matched the color of the thread on the hem to the stitching already on the jeans. I thought a seamstress would have basic colors available for their work. This wasn't an unusual color of thread. The actual job done was fine but I wasn't pleased with the hiked price and having to keep calling to see when my jeans would be done. I won't be going back.

The fabric of the suit is no longer the same - it looks like a worned out cheap suit. This was a quality suit, not made of cheap material, and has been dried clean professionally in the past and did not look like this. We would not return as I have never had dry cleaning items returned in this condition.

I called and they apologized and said they lost the slip with my information on it. We talked and they promised they could clean the dress by the original quoted time (July 24). I showed up to the shop on July 25 to pick up the dress. They apologized and said they hadn't cleaned it yet. They asked if I still wanted it cleaned. I said yes. They said they would call me when it was ready. I received a phone call on July 30 asking me if I knew the strap on my dress was broke. They asked if I still wanted it cleaned. I called them back and told them that I broke my strap dancing on my wedding night and yes, I still wanted it cleaned. They then called me on August 1 letting me know that the strap on my dress was broke and asked if I still wanted it cleaned. I went in on August 5 to pick up the dress to take it somewhere else. Again, they told me the strap on my dress was broke and once again, asked if I still wanted it cleaned. If this was a pawn shop I would have at least gotten a loan for my troubles. I hardly got an apology from them for falsely entrusting them (for over 2 months) with the most expensive wardrobe piece I've ever needed cleaned. Maybe they are really good with clothing but I'm not sure if they are equipped to clean wedding dresses. You live and you learn....

Washer is pricey with price ranges from $7.75-12.75 per load. I am not sure if this is the normal price for a laundromat or not but it was cheaper when we lived in an apartment and used their washer/dryer (around $2-3 per load). Lots of machines here are out of order. The instructions to use the machines are unclear. When we tried to add coins to the dryer, the machine could not accept any more coins so we had to just start the machine for 10 mins and then moved to another machine that could accept coins. It was very inconvenient. The coin exchange machine does not always work either. The place is also kind of dirty. The owner needs to take a better care of this place. There are only two old and small chairs next to each other for people to sit on. I wish there are more chairs for people to use and not next to each other on the corner. It is very awkward to sit next to strangers in a very small space. Overall, I do not recommend this place unless you absolutely have no choice.
