SHORT ANSWER: Yes in many ways…read more LOCATION: on the corner next to FARM, so a fall back if you do not have FARM reservations and hate disappointment of being turned away. FACILITY: Small, limited seating indoors with very nice, fun, outdoor seating areas. Love this place. MENU: Simple, easy to understand, great photos online if you have any questions. FOOD PREP: Very well done, like professional in just how it looks. FOOD QUALITY: Professional in how it also tastes... Watermelon Gazpacho was perfect with drinks prior to main. LIBATIONS: drinks and bartender were excellent, fun, and the photo print was very cool. WAITSTAFF: just so nice, and fun making the experience all that much better. We have been enjoying The Plaza Theater so spending a little more time in Palm Springs and this will be one of our favorites places to relax prior to an event. OVERALL VALUE: Good, but it is Palm Springs, outdoors, great locations, classy.. no, not inexpensive but well worth it. TIP: I'd say be nice, be patient, and you will get a table. Don't be an angry rude touron, we don't need that vibe and we see some of that in PS.. You can try for reservations, not sure if they take off season.

These guys - and yes I don't think I saw a single woman working there, are hilarious, insanely fast with the service, and pack the place with locals who appreciate the food, service and humor that all the staff seem to possess. I had spinach eggs Benny, and the reason why I'm not giving them five stars is because the Hollandaise sauce was eh. I also try the pancakes which had good flavor, but we're not the fluffiest things in the world. Seriously, I I've been accused of being a food and ambience snob (and I am), but this place tops my list in spite of their ambience and food. I will say this, they are very careful about salt, which I can't tell you how much I appreciate. I think one of the measures of a horrible restaurant trying to pass as something otherwise, is an overuse of salt. These guys really take pride and if you want to go someplace you're going to enjoy for amazing service, oh - great selection, be sure to put this on your list!

When we were first seated, a bus server brought us water and asked if we would like anything else to drink. We started giving him our drink orders, only to realize he didn't have a pen or paper. He politely excused himself, came back prepared, and took our order. A little while later, our drinks were delivered by another gentleman who was immediately warm, polished and engaging. His name was **Cosmo**. He wasn't our server, though. Eventually, another server stopped by and told us he would be taking care of us and would return shortly. He never introduced himself. When he returned, we ordered our starters, and later our entrées. He did his job and was perfectly fine. But throughout the evening, Cosmo kept appearing at exactly the right moments. Cosmo noticed when my drink was empty and asked if I wanted another. Throughout dinner, he continued checking on our table, making sure we had drinks and everything else we needed. At the same time, we watched him interact with other guests throughout the restaurant and help the servers wherever he was needed. He was polished, attentive and genuinely engaging, but also seemed to instinctively know when to step away and let guests enjoy their evening. After several conversations with him, curiosity finally got the better of us. We asked, "So, what exactly is your story? Are you the head waiter? A supervisor?" Nope. Cosmo explained that he is actually a busser, just like the gentleman who initially brought us our water. He has been at Billy Reed's for many years. At one point he considered becoming a server, but decided he really didn't want to have to memorize the entire menu. He loves what he does, and it shows. He even gave us the introduction he would have used had he been the first person to greet our table that evening. It was hilarious. He has that rare hospitality instinct of knowing how to engage people, make them laugh and feel welcome, while also knowing exactly when to retreat. There was one final moment that summed up the evening perfectly. The servers came over and sang Happy Birthday to Michael. We noticed Cosmo wasn't with them and wondered why. When they finished, Cosmo came over to our table and personally sang Happy Birthday to Michael himself. That was Cosmo. Our dinner was great. Our server was fine. But **Cosmo made the night.** Billy Reed's is fortunate to have him. After all those years, he may technically still be a busser, but from a guest's perspective, he understands hospitality better than most people ever will. PoliStein

I loved that there are different dining rooms, each with its own art and design. Every space feels unique, and walking through the restaurant is an experience on its own. For brunch, I ordered the chilaquiles, and the Negra Modelo ranchera salsa was delicious and very unique. The flavors really stood out, and I loved the addition of the Spanish chorizo Bilbao. My wife ordered the poblano chile relleno, and everything on the plate was delicious. The refried pinto beans were especially good, and the corn pudding was amazing--like a little piece of corn tamal! Then came the carrot cake sandwich... and honestly, it looked like they saved the best for last. This might be the best carrot cake we have ever tried! The layers of cream cheese semifreddo, carrot ribbon cream, candied pecans, orange crisps, and salted caramel were absolutely incredible. I would honestly come back to Eight4Nine just for the carrot cake. Everything we had was delicious, but the dessert stole the show without a doubt. A big thank you to Sandy, our waitress, for the great recommendations and wonderful service. We loved celebrating our anniversary here and definitely want to come back!

A Girls' Weekend Favorite!…read more One of our favorite things to do when we escape to Palm Springs for a girls' weekend is try somewhere new, and 1501 Uptown Gastropub did not disappoint! From the delicious food to the fabulous cocktails, everything was absolutely wonderful! But what really made our visit memorable was our server, Jesse! What a gem! He had the BEST smile, was incredibly attentive, and genuinely seemed delighted to make sure we were having a great time. You can tell when someone truly enjoys taking care of people, and Jesse was exactly that! One of my girlfriends doesn't drink alcohol, and Jesse thoughtfully suggested a mojito mocktail that she absolutely loved! It's those little touches and that kind of hospitality that make an experience stand out. The rest of us thoroughly enjoyed our cocktails, the food was delicious, and the entire experience was exactly what we hoped for on our girls' getaway. Great food, great drinks, even better hospitality! We'll absolutely be adding 1501 Uptown Gastropub to our list of places worth revisiting. And Jesse, keep flashing that incredible smile! You're a wonderful representation of what hospitality should be!

The place felt kid friendly (if you know you know). We sat outside and the set up made it feel like it was still part of the inside. It didn't feel like a separate outside area. The food was ok. We got the kids a cheese toast and fries. The fries were good! My kids really enjoyed them. The cheese toast was ok. Even they weren't too excited about it. I ordered the Chick Under a Brick. It sounded so good and tasty on paper but it was actually a little bland. The chimichurri didn't quite chimichurri enough lol. The chicken was bland. My husband had the 1501 burger medium well. He said it was good. He got a beer and I got the Ponche de Hisbiscus. My drink sounded yummy on paper but I feel like the taste didn't quite fit the description. We opted for no dessert because my kids were tired but there were plenty of nut free options which is always something I need to look out for.

Since we didn't have reservations, we were seated at the bar, which ended up being a blessing in disguise. Our bartender and server, I believe her name was Katie, was outstanding. She was friendly, attentive, and made the entire experience even more enjoyable. We started with a couple of glasses of wine and the Insalata Burrata with heirloom tomatoes, fresh burrata, basil, olive oil, prosecco vinegar, local microgreens, Maldon salt, and freshly ground black pepper. It was incredibly fresh, beautifully balanced, and the perfect way to begin the meal. For our entrées, we ordered the Lasagne di Verdure with seasonal vegetables, house-made ricotta, mozzarella, marinara, and Parmigiano-Reggiano. The house-made ricotta was absolutely incredible and elevated the entire dish, making it an easy favorite. We also shared the Salame e Funghi pizza with San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, and mushrooms. The thin, wood-fired crust had the perfect texture, and the pizza easily rivaled--if not surpassed--many restaurants that specialize in pizza. To finish the evening, we couldn't pass on the Torta di Nocciole, a flourless hazelnut cake served with vanilla gelato, a drizzle of local raw honey, and freshly grated nutmeg. It was the perfect ending to an outstanding meal--rich, balanced, and absolutely delicious. From the exceptional service to the thoughtfully prepared food, every part of our visit exceeded our expectations. We only wish there were a location closer to home. We'll definitely be back, hopefully sooner rather than later. Thank you for an unforgettable meal and outstanding hospitality!

Prior visit has been for food which the last time it was quite nice. We've sat at the covered patio which was great as we had our little fur baby with us. Oh, the place is pet friendly which is very nice. Anyways, for dinner menu is somewhat limited but they do have some good options. As this event was held during happy hour times, and the place closed for the event so there was no food served. Parking is great as there's plenty of spots in the lot. Street parking is also available if needed. The place is quite cute with their decors. There were maybe three bartenders working the event. They had their regular cocktails menu as well as specials. Not sure if that's a main thing or if it was just for the event. The main bar and dining area was utilized where people can mingle and get to know each other. Event hosted by The Palm Springs Guys where they host monthly cocktails hours at different businesses. A nice way to meet new people in the area, friends gathered together for drinks and to try new places out. A good concept and great way to try new businesses in the valley. As for this place, I've been to brunch the first time. Last time was for dinner which we did have a great time. The layout is beautiful right when you walk in. The decor is beautiful with their mix of mid century modern. The lobby itself is a cool spot for drinks. They have the main dining area as you walk in. Two different patio outside which are both covered. One main bar as you walk in. This place is quite cool and a great stop for a drink with the fur babies.

We ordered quite a variety of dishes and drinks, so there was definitely a lot to try. I also liked that the menu incorporates Filipino and Asian inspired flavors rather than sticking to the usual restaurant offerings. Overall, it was a good dining experience, and there were plenty of interesting items on the menu. Drinks Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen A playful tropical cocktail made with vodka, pineapple amaro, lemon, egg white, and tropical Red Bull. It combines pineapple flavors with citrus and a frothy texture, giving it a fun, fruity twist. Food Pork Belly Crispy pork belly served with tamarind barbecue sauce, avocado salsa, pickled onion, and plantain chips. The dish brings together rich pork, tangy barbecue flavors, creamy avocado, and the contrast of crisp plantain chips. Boozecumbers Cucumber served with togarashi yogurt, frisée, whiskey soy, and garlic. This dish combines cool, crisp cucumber with creamy, savory, and slightly spicy flavors. It is an interesting take on a cucumber dish rather than just a basic salad. Adobo Karaage Japanese style fried chicken nuggets served with scallion emulsion. The idea is a crispy chicken exterior paired with a savory dipping sauce, combining Japanese karaage style preparation with flavors that complement the restaurant's broader Asian-inspired menu. Pancit Bihon Thin rice noodles cooked with cabbage, carrots, yellow onion, and scallions. A Filipino noodle dish that is traditionally savory and light, with the vegetables adding texture and flavor. Seaweed Salad A seaweed based salad offering a refreshing, slightly briny taste and a pleasant contrast to heavier dishes. It is a nice option when you want something lighter alongside fried or meat based items. Dessert Bibingka A Filipino inspired rice flour dessert made with macapuno, a soft, sweet coconut preserve, and ube namelaka, a creamy purple yam preparation. It combines traditional Filipino dessert influences with a modern presentation and flavors of coconut and ube. Service The staff were attentive, polite and warm welcoming. They gave us recommendations as it was our first time dining here and they gave us such fantastic suggestions! Final thoughts Boozehounds has an eclectic menu that gives you plenty of options if you enjoy trying different flavors and cuisines. Between the cocktails, Filipino inspired dishes, Japanese style karaage, Korean inspired steak, and dessert, there is a lot of variety to explore. The menu is definitely more interesting than a standard dinner and drinks spot, and I appreciate the creativity behind the combinations. Boozehounds gets a 4 out of 5 stars. It's a place worth checking out in Palm Springs if you're looking for an interesting menu and creative drinks!

They brought out Cancha and water, along with a green spicy salsa and chimichurri to top your food with, which was a nice touch and super flavorful. We didn't get a chance to visit the bar, but it looked beautiful from where we sat, and the music playing was the perfect fit for the vibe. For starters we got the Causa Acevichada, and wow -- this was only my second time trying this dish, but it completely blew the other place out of the water. So much flavor. I'm a creature of habit, so I went with my favorite Peruvian dish, the Lomo Saltado, and honestly this might be the best version I've had. Every bite was packed with flavor (that chimichurri drizzled on top didn't hurt either).
