Superlative(s) - awesome job for us. We had seven (7) tall 40+ year old cypress trees that had become dangerous. In addition, we had several other trees in need of a haircut and a shave. Some of my thoughts: First: The quote. Forest came and spent the better part of two (2) hours, walking our property and "listening" to both of us. He then wrote out the most detailed quote of the many we received. Included were specific pricing for each individual tree. There was a breakdown for removing the trees, chipping, stump grinding, and shaping. Second: He and his crew showed up on time and worked hard and fast all day. At the end of day one, they cleaned up everything before leaving that day. Thirdly: At all times, we could hear the chipper being fed constantly, resulting in several yards of chips for our upcoming landscaping. Day two brought the stump grinder into play, with the ultimate result of things being level. Finally: One of our immediate neighbors has already contracted with Forest to work on his lot, including several redwoods. At all times, as we watched, not a single limb or branch fell on any or fences, barbecues, decks though there were some narrow landing areas. It was a joy for us to watch the teamwork and camaraderie during both days - quality and obvious pride in their work. We were extremely pleased and very impressed........they didn't leave a single twig behind in cleanup. We would recommend Forest Tree Services for any tree project in every way. read more

I tend to be a very fussy client who wants the job to be professionally done. Don't wish to have any damage to my property or changes in what was agreed upon. I want an excellent job and to be treated respectfully when discussing what is going to be done on my property. I am a female senior citizen who had a wonderful experience with Forest Tree Service. What many businesses don't realize is that gender and money and age have no bearing on doing business. Forest Tree Service treats your property as though it is its own! Forest was very patient, didn't appear to rush decision making, and gave a quote that described what was agreed upon. If asked for his recommendations, he offered them. I was so impressed with him and his professionalism and scheduled immediately. Showed up on time, set the tone for the crew with an excellent work ethic, and began attending to cutting back a huge sycamore and plum tree. Even swept leaves off the roof and the ground. Yard was pristine clean when job was completed. Trees looked great Good luck scheduling him because he goes on the "recommended great businesses" list at my place of business. He deserves to be busy with his excellent business principles and results. By the way, this is the first time I've written a review for any business, however Forest Tree Service is most deserving and highly recommended. R. Morgan read more

I recently had the pleasure of working with Forest Tree Services Inc. in Santa Rosa, and I can confidently say they deserve a solid five stars for their exceptional service. From the moment I reached out to them, their team was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. They provided a thorough evaluation of the trees on my property, offering honest advice and options for the care and removal of some mature trees that were becoming a hazard. The crew arrived on time and worked efficiently, ensuring the job was completed safely and without any damage to the surrounding landscape. They even took the time to clean up thoroughly afterward, leaving my yard looking as neat as it did before the work started. What stood out the most was the level of expertise they brought to the table. They explained each step of the process, from trimming techniques to safe removal procedures, making me feel confident in their abilities. The pricing was fair and transparent, with no hidden fees or surprises at the end. If you're in the Santa Rosa area and need tree services, I highly recommend Forest Tree Services Inc. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to customer satisfaction make them stand out as the best in the business. read more

We had Forest tree service come out on Saturday the 29th of September after having had several bids to clean out and cut back our oak tree's in the back yard. I can only say that when Forest gave me his bid and it was lowest of 3 by a substantial amount I had some concerns. When the crew arrived and we went over the work to be done I felt a sense of calm and confidence and my feelings bared out as they went beyond my expectations with the work completed. All the guys were very nice and knew what they were doing. Felix, the crew chief has many years of experience (16 to be exact) and was so in control that I only went out to check a couple times during their stay. I would HIGHLY recommend Forest tree service to anyone! We had limbs going over a studio, a pergola, furniture, umbrella's and a creek bed water feature that when the job was complete not one incidence of damage, not one small twig was left, the yard was blown and spotless! We were extremely pleased with the way this turned out. Our tree's look great and our back yard looks great. If you need anything in regards to tree's I would expect Forest tree service can handle your job. A five star rating for sure! Regards; Steve Jones Windsor Ca. 9-30-2018 read more

Forest and crew did an outstanding job of trimming and reshaping some seriously neglected and overgrown trees. The team competently handled the cutting and lowering of some very high and large branches in a pretty tricky location: a potentially dangerous situation. They also removed some trees entirely and the stump remaining was neatly cut and flush with the ground. (We elected to not grind the stump). They also did a thorough job of debris removal and clean-up... this included the sweeping and leaf blowing of the front, back, and side yards as well as the driveway at the end of the day. They even helped remove and chip and large quantity of branches and leaves from bushes and hedges that I was trimming even though it not in their scope nor were we charged for their efforts. Forest was professional and honest from the estimating until the end of the job. He gave solid advice on which trees and branches should stay and which should go. I never got the impression that he was trying to up-sell additional work. The price was reasonable (quite a bit lower than the competitive bid) and the work was outstanding. Let Forest handle your trees!! read more

We have a large Sycamore in our front yard and knew this was the year to get it trimmed. We contacted a couple of different companies. One wanted a fee just to come out to give us a quote and had a lead time of a few months out to complete the work. We were pleased when Forest offered to come out right away to provide us a quote. He was very knowledgeable about the Sycamore, the way that it grows and the way that it needs to be taken care of. We accepted his quote and had a date on the calendar for 4 weeks out. On the day of the trimming, the crew showed up on time. The lead crew member chatted with us to make sure that he understood what we were looking for in the care of the tree. He then got up into the tree and trimmed away as the ground crew cleaned up. After several hours, the old Sycamore still looked natural and beautiful. We can't wait to see it leaf out this Spring. We highly recommend Forest Tree Services. They have the expertise, availability and quality workmanship that everyone wants and hopes for in the care of their trees. Without a doubt, the next time we need our tree cared for, we will be using Forest Tree Services again. read more

I needed a 20 foot tree removed that was in a spot that was difficult to reach removed. I also needed to raise the canopy of a 20 year old Scarlet oak raised and trimmed so it didn't hit the house in the wind. I really like the oak tree so I wanted someone that knew what they were doing having learned from trimming another tree myself improperly that eventually died. They showed up on time and did a great job. Three people plus the owner managed to get everything done must quicker than expected. They were very efficient. My oak looks much better now. Exactly what I wanted. They cleaned up everything and left the yard cleaner than they found it. I feel the price was fair. Highly recommend. As a bonus it was actually less than the estimate as the rental price for a smaller trunk grinder needed for the tough spot was less than he thought. Very professional and honest. read more

I recently hired Forest Tree Services for some tree work in my yard, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. From the initial consultation to the completion of the job, their professionalism was evident. The team arrived on time and assessed the situation carefully. They provided a clear explanation of what needed to be done, along with a fair quote that detailed all the services. I appreciated their transparency and willingness to answer all my questions. I also noticed how knowledgeable they were about tree health and care, which was reassuring. They offered great advice on how to maintain my trees going forward. Overall, I highly recommend Forest Tree Services for anyone needing tree services. Their expertise, dedication, and customer service truly set them apart. Fantastic and exceptional work, beyond my expectations! Tree work has a science to it especially with challenges where structures, fences, gardens, etc. add to the complicated situation. The crew were spot on professional and willing to add a tree or two as things progressed. What I really like about this company is it is hourly based, so no surprises. Fair is fair, time is money an that is a great practice. I had about a dozen trees removed and one that was extremely challenging - nestled in a tightly packed garden, fencing, structures, a pond, statues, etc. Really had expected the entire place to have been trampled, but what a shock nothing was damaged! Felix is outstanding and super talented at his craft along with an exceptional ground crew. read more

This was the third large pruning job that Forest and his great crew have done for us. We have a towering Eucalyptus tree in our back yard. Lately it has become Home to a large number of Turkey Vultures. The limbs of the tree are over our redwood deck. The deck has become covered with bird droppings over the past few months. The pruning job involved removing several very large limbs and lowering them through some narrow spots without damaging other trees and our gazebo. They somehow were able to take off the branches overhanging the deck while preserving the main structure of the tree. The skill that was involved is just unimaginable. We are very grateful to this company for their ability to accomplish this very difficult job. read more

We have now had 2 really good experiences with Forest Tree Services. We had a rather large tree in our back yard trimmed in October 2018 & a tree removed in April 2019 from the front yard. The company provides free estimates & Forest and Myra are friendly and professional. Forest came to the house to do the estimate and gave my husband a few different options when it came to trimming the tree in the back yard . The tree in the front needed to be removed. The crew arrived on time to do both jobs and were friendly and efficient. It was so nice to return home from work and not have to do any debris clean up. I just admired the fantastic work that was done. I definitely will recommend Forest Tree Services to my friends & neighbors. read more

With all the unrelenting rain, one of my fir trees began to slowly uproot and list towards the power lines. With all the power outages and trees down throughout Sonoma County I figured there was no way I'd get a tree company to remove it before it fell. My third call was to Forest. After explaining the urgency of the situation, Forest said he happened to be nearby and was on his way. He and his assistant did a masterful job dropping this hazardous tree that was threatening the power lines. His quick response, expert work and fair price (no gouging during an emergency!) were greatly appreciated! Once the current on-going rain emergencies are over with, I will be bringing him back for additional tree work. Highly recommend! read more

One half of our Western Live Oak broke off Friday night and fell into our neighbors yard. The broken half was still connected to the original tree, but now half was laying across our deck, laying on top of a lattice fence, tangled into two of our neighbors Japanese Maples and leaning up against her house. We called Forest Tree Service Saturday morning. They said they could do the work Sunday morning. They showed up on time Sunday morning and removed the tree without any damage at all. How they got this untangled from the Japanese Maples without damage was amazing. My neighbor is very pleased with the work they did. These guys are very professional and had everything done in three hours. read more

What a positive experience in all respects... Thoughtful communication, extremely reasonable prices, and careful work - thorough, with attention to detail. Forest removed an enormous, beautiful heritage oak from my property after it was sadly toppled in a storm. All of the work was done with great care and in exactly the timeline promised. The site was immaculate when he left, to the point that neighbors have called in astonishment to comment both on the tree's "magical disappearance" and on how beautifully Forest incorporated the chippings created from the brush into the existing landscape. I highly recommend Forest. He is honest, committed, and takes his work seriously. read more

Forest (the perfect real name for a certified arborist and tree shaper!) has competently done various tree services at our Santa Rosa home: tree removal of Monterey pines on our hillside, aesthetically pleasing building clearance and electrical line clearance of limbs growing over roof and wires, and a final conscientious cleaning of the roof gutter. Plus he tidied up and carried away all the trimmings and debris from the job. It was a pleasure to have him here to perform the work as he has knowledge of how to accomplish the tasks at hand and clearly explains the process. And he has a gentle persona, showing care and sensitivity to our needs and aesthetic choices. I have read more

We had three very large cyprus trees growing in from our neighbors yard that were putting weight on our fence and blocking our smaller trees from light. Forest was extremely professional, gave us a reasonable bid and executed the job perfectly. He also trimmed some 30 year old redwoods and removed a huge invasive bush from our yard. The clean up job was fantastic, not a scrap left from the incredible amount of debris. Forest and his team's work exceeded our expectations. Forest gave us lots of information about the particular trees we have and seems to be very knowledgable about lifespan and what to expect, tree health etc... We highly recommend Forest Tree Services. read more

Let me start off with tree work is not cheap, it cost us $7400 to trim one tree. Probably one of the largest Oaks in Santa Rosa. Felix climbed out to the tip of every limb removing the dead branches. Felix also removed a few branches with leaves to get the tree off of our house. The arborist recommended we take some weight out of a limb over our roof, which Felix also did. Very carefully at that. One guy was controlling the ropes guiding the branches down to keep them from hitting our windows. While the rest of the crew cleaned up. Almost like little ants talking taking sugar from a large flower without leaving a single drop of nectar. Worth every penny, great gob! read more
