I've had tree removal by a few different local companies and have had no bad experiences. But I recently became concerned about the health of some of my redwood trees and wanted them looked at by a certified arborist with a high level of knowledge about that type of tree. Forest definitely fit the bill. He immediately noticed a couple of trees that needed an epicormic sprout or two removed. There was another that I thought needed work but he said that tree was likely to clear its issue all by itself. I also had a very messy cedar and a huge bushy live oak cleaned out. Forest's team really knows what they are doing. I didn't think either of those trees was especially attractive, but now they are just beautiful. During the recent rain and windstorms, one of the redwoods near my house started to lean. Forest called as soon as he got my message, came right out, and even though it was a weekend and it was still raining, his team dropped what they were doing and came on over to stabilize not only that tree but 2 others near it that were also a threat (one I had not noticed). They used some very impressive problem-solving skills to keep everything safe until they had time to return and remove the trees later. The removal took less time than estimated and without damage to 3 nearby outbuildings, my house, or the landscape. Amazing! These guys are excellent! I just bought a place and needed a 30 foot cypress cut down because it was pushing on my porch awning and dropping debris on my roof. Scary during the storms. I had two huge pine trees that were diseased in my back yard that they took down that were just feet from a tall fence and two waterfalls. They took them down with precision. We were delighted with the service we received from Forest Tree Services. They moved everything in our yard that could possibly have had anything from the tree fall on them and then carefully replaced everything when they were done, even small flower pots. They did an excellent job making sure the large ash tree was not hanging too close to the roof and thinning out deadwood and excess growth, but not overdoing it. They removed a problematic branch from a maple tree and removed a lot of deadwood from our ailing orange tree and also removed sickly branches. This time they removed two large, sick pines, shaped and cleared deadwood from a mulberry tree, raised the canopies of two huge sycamores, pruned heavy (if-they-drop-they'll-crush-my-neighbor's-house) branches from a liquidambar, and did a GREAT job of cleaning up afterwards. Forest has been caring for our trees for over five years. He and his crew have always been courteous and professional. They have performed maintenance to our pines and oaks, cutting out dead limbs and raising the level of the branches so we can walk under them. They cut down some poplars and a big old pine that was dying. Most recently, they have treated our silver maple for an aphid and fungal infestation. Cannot say enough about Forest (his real name) and his crew. They came out in an emergency situation, cut up a downed oak and then also removed a dangerously leaning one...all in 8 hours. These trees were massive, and the fallen one caused a lot of damage and debris. The yard looks clean, the grass has been raked of bits and all in all, other than the huge pile of cut wood, you would never know they had been here. I actually have not used this service because a tree service I called earlier finally called me back and I forgot I called Forest. Only after that did I notice Forest had left a voicemail the day I called him. The reason I'm reviewing this despite not having used service is just because he was responsive. We had damage done to our house about two months back and needed various contractors. It's true what they say - you don't get calls back. It's been frustrating. No show. I called and left messages. Finally at 11:12 am I get a person apologizing that they had an "emergency" tree cut and decided to be nice to that client by doing a favor in cutting more. The owner explained the procedure, brought in a large crane, and then he and his amazing crew skillfully and safely took down the massive tree over a two day period.
