I needed them to have it done within 2 hours and they delivered. The job was good, but not great, since the waist didn't feel it was taken-out as much as I had asked. The man who did my fitting wasn't the nicest individual I had met and seemed rude! May be he should take the weekends off! The girl behind the counter had a much more pleasant attitude! Very reliable. It gets busy during the weekends so I try to only go on weekdays. I wasn't satisfied with the alterations done to my True Religions so they redid them in an hour. prices are going up and up and up. I have been using them for the last 18 years and I can't believe how expensive they are getting. If it is a hem buy the zipper and that is it. They wanna charge me $40. I tell them it is too much and they usually negotiate with me. This other guy who is not Ivan gives me a funky attitude. Whatever. I took my dress and came back a month later, same guy 30 dollars. They aren't consistent in their pricing and they need to humble them selves. or stick to the mall retail clients. I have learned that everythig is negotiable. And i am a shop a holic so i let them know that everytime i come in with 10 -15 items for hemming or alterations. I have spent so much over the years. I always bring my suits here they go through a lot of wear and tear because I wear them for work every day. They fix many rips holes buttons you name it. I have taken Theory pants and expensive jeans here. They have done a gorgeous job on everything - straightened legs that were too wide, taken in the waist/hip, hemmed of course with the original finish - I can't get over what a gorgeous job they do, consistently. Every time I am in there, I see people bring in Gucci, Prada, very high end garments. I was recommended to Forest Tailoring by everyone I asked - Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom at Stanford Mall in Palo Alto and Anthropologie, too, so it is worth the drive. Took my pants in for tailoring. I needed to have them brought in and hemmed. The hem is too long and is dragging and starting to fray. BUT the taking in was a disaster!! They are still too big but they removed the belt loops so now I can't even wear a belt. VERY UNHAPPY!! read more

I went in just for measurements nobody acknowledge that I was even there for quite a few minutes, then when they finally acknowledged my existence still was unspecified wait time for a time that seemed not busy at all. So I decided to leave and stop wasting more of my time. They will not be receiving any of my business in the future. That was my first and only experience with this tailor shop. They are great at hemming, but that is about all they are great at. I have taken two dresses to them, and they have ruined both. The first time I didn't say much, I figured that it might have been the one person that was working on my dress. I decided to give them a second chance, and they did an even worse job on second dress then the first. They didn't listen to anything that I asked them to do.... THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!! I tried to get a pair of jeans hemmed here the other day, just a simple $14 original hem. This creepy guy measured the length when I had them on and told me it would take two days. In two days I came back to pick up my jeans. I'm waiting for about 15 to 20 minutes while they are looking for them. Finally the same creepy guy, who measured them, came to me and told me that I must have had someone else pick them up for me....are you serious? After telling him no one else could have picked them up, he then asked me to come back later so they could find them. I came back the next day to finally pick up my, great right? NO...one of the legs was shorter than the other...ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! Is someone messing with me??? After arguing with the creepy man, I then told him I wanted him to reimburse me for my jeans because they ruined them. He told me he could fix it. But I don't know how when one leg was clearly about two inches shorter than the correct one. They ruined my brand new pair of jeans, put me in a pissed off mood and did not guarantee their work. I took a pair of work pants in on Thursday, April 4 before I had to start work (a 2pm-10:30pm shift at Valley Fair) around 11am. I needed one pants leg hemmed and the lady working at the counter noticed how I have been using a safety pin to hide a small hole in the leg. She offered to do a rush job, had the pants hemmed and had the workers add a patch to the leg, and it only took about 15 min. She even offered me a magazine while I waited! I've brought a few dresses and pants to be altered here, and everything was ok before- staff was fairly friendly and my stuff was always ready on time. It seemed a bit pricey but was worth it to have my stuff done right. The last time I came here however, I dropped off a dress (I will admit, I left it very last min- dropped off about 11 days before my flight out of the country for a wedding) and came back about 4 days before my flight. As soon as I looked at the dress I knew something was wrong from the missing seams of the alteration I expected to be made based on the discussion I had with the guy before I left. I tried on the dress and sure enough it didnt fit well, and was very uncomfortable. I asked what happened and he said they had to do something different than what we discussed because they didn't think the other way would work out. "Why didnt you call me to tell me though?" I asked. He had no response but an apologetic shrug. He went on to suggest another alteration be made, but this would change the shape of the dress and that was not ok. After almost 30 mins of seeing if there was a way to make it work, I decided I would have to purchase the dress again AND pay for next day shipping ($25.00) when I told the guy that he was apologizing and asking what he could do to make it better. They had been very apologetic and seemed to really want to find a way to make it all work out so I only asked that he alter the next one at no cost and he agreed. When I came back with the other dress, they altered it (only the length this time we didnt make changes to what didnt work out the first time) and when I was getting ready to leave they tell me it will be $15.00. It wasn't the amount that bothered, rather the fact that they said they wouldn't charge- and even if they hadn't said it I think that ruining someone's dress to the point where they cannot wear should be reason enough for the tailoring of the next one at no cost. Especially when it was less work than I had requested done in the first place. I was not rude once, or lose my patience and it was in very poor taste to still try to charge me. After I explained all of this, the guy there (different one than the one I spoke to originally) said he didn't know about it and he didn't have the power to say I would't pay. Finally he got the other man on the phone and he agreed I wouldn't pay. For now, I think I will try other places and only come back here if I absolutely can't find anywhere better. read more

this place does a good job hemming jeans with the original hemline and taking in clothes. my only discrepancy is the pervert tailor that tries to feel me up when I would get the straps of my dresses shortened or the neckline of dresses brought up higher. i completely forgot his name (he's not the one who wears the glasses) but he would "accidentally" stick his fingers down my bra to touch my nipple when adjusting the dress to mark it or pin it...i was say something and he would be like "ohhh sorry sorry" like he didn't realize he did it. but he would do it EVERY SINGLE TIME! and i brought a few dresses there! i have now found a better tailor who does a better job for less money and won't molest me! read more

DO NOT go here. I have been going to this place for two whole years now, and it has simply tanked. At the start, it was great - the main tailor seemed to really listen to my requests and made good alterations. But over time, the service got worse and worse. The original alterations became just plain sloppy or NONEXISTENT - they completely forgot to make them and still tried to charge me!!! And many of the good alterations broke/came undone. When I started bringing those items back to be fixed again, I was treated like it was my fault!! (I should make it clear that I gained no weight over the 2 years. I actually lost some. And I always take very very good care of my clothes.) The other major problem with this place is that they have an attitude, minimal manners, and sometimes don't understand English. I went back yesterday to pick up a pair of pants that needed a replacement zipper. The main tailor had put in the zipper that broke about 4 months ago. I politely asked if he could charge me less, since the zipper that broke was the one he put in. He refused and then accused me of asking him to replace the manufacturer's zipper for free!!!! And then he said that he "has lost me as a customer" because I'm "too hard to work with." Excuse me? Take a look at how many things are wrong with his sentence. I'm the one who should've dismissed HIM for his crappy work! I politely reminded him that it was his zipper that broke, not the manufacturers. He just stared at me and said he has lost me again. He apparently forgot the concept that a customer should be treated with respect and patience. Especially one who was nothing but polite and patient for two whole years. Why would anyone want a tailor like this? Bad attitude, poor quality work, impatience, communication issues, false accusations, and overcharging. I truly wish I had something positive to say about this place. But I just don't anymore. read more

This place sucks. I brought in a pair of suit trousers to be altered and when I returned to try them on, discovered someone had spilled a whole cup of coffee on one leg. The owner/manager would not admit fault and tried to clean the stain by soaking the pants leg with water. I asked them to clean the pants and returned later to find the coffee stain still visible. The tailoring was acceptable but this place is sloppily operated and refuses to accept fault when they screw up. read more

I have been using this tailors for years and have always been so pleased with their efficient work. Today I was desperate and they did not fail me! I had a skirt that needed a looser waistband and a lengthened interior layer. Despite this being a complicated job, I also needed it ASAP. They had it done in an hour and a half. and it was very fairly priced. So polite and great customer service. I travel an hour to come to this particular tailoring business. oh my gosh they are absolutely awful. i bought a few coats from burberry awhile back for which i needed the sleeves shortened... pretty simple. they sent them here and they came back in such HORRIBLE shape that burberry had to refund my money for the coats entirely. all the little loops for the cuffs were crooked with thread popping out. the quality of work done here was absolutely appalling. they were also unapologetic even though we gave them THREE chances to do the work properly before we finally had to decide to let the coats go entirely as they were just beyond hope. at that same time i'd also brought in another coat and a few dresses to be taken in and they just let them sit for WEEKS, untouched. when i asked why they were just sitting there, they just said they were too "busy" and tossed my items back at me without even a single apology for the inconveniences they've caused. please save yourself money, time, and maybe even heartache (over a ruined garment) and stay away from this place. read more
