Nice bar environment right in Falmouth. Good IPA on tap selection, and simple but good menu! We went for Reubens, Haddock Chowder and Bissell Brothers Substance IPA on draft!

I've worked in Falmouth for many years and this restaurant never disappoints. Located for easy access to either highway in Route one makes this a great location to meet up. I worked for a local nursing home and their monthly trips were always booked up as soon as the date became available. The tavern was very accommodating for wheelchair parties as well as large parties with multiple wheel chairs. This trip was to celebrate my birthday with friends. Enjoyed the always wonderful nachos and calamari (didn't care for the fried lemon though). Dinner was burgers all around except the birthday girl who ordered the Beef Wellington. Absolutely delicious! Large portion allowed me to take some home. Double chocolate cake was decadent and enjoyed. To say I'll be back is the truth. Local and yummy perfect for what ever brings you together for a meal!

We were here on a dreary Wednesday and needed their outstanding nachos as a pick me up. As we entered the building we were greeted by the host, who if COVID safety is your jam then this is the spot for you. The tables were extremely spaced apart. The service was quick and attentive, but the food was just so so. The nachos didn't disappoint and we probably should've ordered only that. We also had the French dip and Cobb salad as entrees. COVID unfortunately has changed how many restaurants work to stay open. The protocols here were a bit absurd. If I were an ER nurse from the questions asked I'd have to dine elsewhere LOL. People still want to dine out, don't make it any harder than it has to be.

These nachos were amazing!!! Best Ones I have had outside of Portland. Melted cheese through all of the yummy layers

The smashburgers and fries were a hit as well. The vegetable Wellington was delicious- really didn't know what to expect but it was a cool take on a tired classic. The wines were reasonably priced - we had a Mas Josephine Côtes du Rhône, which paired nicely with the pasta.

We visited midday, and the staff was all so friendly. They let us pick our seat outside (it wasn't busy yet) so we could be in the shade but still enjoy the heat and flowers and birds; and, they were so patient with us when we were definitely not (on multiple occasions) ready to order. When we offhandedly remarked how parched we were, our server hooked us up with BIG water glasses - and really, it's the little things like that that set a place apart. The drinks were good! I got a mocktail that tasted like a jazzed up Shirley Temple. Appreciate that they have mocktails for, as of writing this, under $10. For me, however, the food was a let down. While there's plenty of gluten-free options, the vegan options are almost non-existent. It seems like it's $20 for a plate of cold vegetables, $20 for a plate of grilled vegetables, or $20 for a pizza with red sauce and more grilled vegetables. The pizzas themselves are kind of small, I think. It says 12", but when ours arrived... it looked like the same size that I might slide out of a frozen pizza from the store. If you've got no dietary restrictions, you'll probably feel differently than me, but I wouldn't come here to eat. Actually, my recommendation is this: come an hour before they open, park your car, and go wander their genuinely lovely trail system. It's mostly flat (there are some rooty areas), and there's SO. MUCH. COOL. ART. to look at. At least one piece will make you smile and become something you talk about later... when you're sitting at the restaurant outside (the Adirondack chairs overlooking the woods is very Maine) enjoying a cocktail.

Before I rip them a new one, let me be totally up front and say the service was very good. Like many places in the Portland area, they're short staffed, and the people who work there are doing the best they can. Friendly, like genuinely friendly and nice waitstaff. They're doing the best they can with too few people. So, to be clear if any management read this? Your staff is fantastic. The food? That's another story. They used to have things on the menu like roasted Brussels Sprouts with all kinds of delicious. There was a pot roast, cooked over three days, which melted in your mouth, with truffle oil and parsnips and carrots. The cocktails? WAY above par. Now you may as well go to Applebees. Over seasoned, boring, and generally NOT worth the money by a long shot. It just tastes like all the other places who use Sysco or Gordon foods. I had the burger, which was so average. I mean REMARKABLY average. Yes, the lettuce on it was actually not just boring iceberg, but that doesn't make up for serving someone a mass produced, firmly packed slab with way too much salt. It says it's some fancy farm beef, but it sure as heck didn't taste like it. The dish my wife had was similar. Some decent ingredients but for the most part it was literally no better than what you'd get in something in a mall. WAY too much salt, way too little flavor. I also ordered a Manhattan. In a Manhattan, the forward flavor should be the whiskey (rye or bourbon or whatever). All I could taste was vermouth. AND it was served in a highball glass with a massive ice cube, and it was warm. The ingredients should go in a cocktail shaker or mixing glass, with ice, then stirred for at least 15 seconds while stirring. It should be served in a cocktail glass like a coup or a martini glass which has been chilled. Mine was in a highball glass. Not sure what happened, but I'm sure profits had something to do with it. You've got dozens of better choices in easy walking distance.

We also enjoyed the hand cut fries - can add truffle powder to it - and the spelt bread. For cocktails I had the dirty moon martini, which was just the right amount of dirt. So, we decided to sneak over here after a busy morning at the lighthouse with our toddler for a nice, filling lunch before a later flight home. We must've gotten lucky on a Sunday bc our wait for three people was about 15-20 minutes quoted and we spent 10 minutes walking the block to entertain our toddler, came back to check-in and our table was ready! yay! We had a great table in the corner by the window which was excellent with our toddler. Our server, Brian, was wonderful and super friendly. Menu isn't huge but, has enough stuff that should be able to please most. We chose a small fry with the daily dip which was almost like a mayo-based honey mustard dijon and was delicious, with ketchup and vinegar for dipping. Fries were crispy and delicious. We got the green salad and the Cuban to split and loved both. The sandwich was delicious and the green salad was light and refreshing with some really yummy herbs on top to include fennel which isn't usually on a salad but I loved the taste for this one, worked perfectly with the dressing. My husband ordered their house-made cherry soda and let me tell you, best cherry soda of my life! We ordered two bc I drank about half of it. They have a charming outdoor patio area with about 3-4 other tables. Charming spot - def. recommend! Wait can get super long - by the time we left they were quoting over an hour for a table since it's smaller inside and large parties can take up almost all the spaces.

There were three of us who stopped in before heading to a concert in town. It was my boyfriend's friend who had suggested Duckfat, saying that he's been before and really likes it. It was about 6pm on a Monday night and the place was just about to capacity. We ended up waiting a few minutes and got sat at a communal table. The space looks nice, but it's definitely a bit cramped. I ordered the salted caramel milkshake and the poutine topped with a duck egg. The shake was absolutely delicious, very rich and creamy and I loved the taste of the caramel. I was very excited to try the poutine since it's the dish they're known for. The fries themselves were definitely good and I enjoyed the gravy. I wished the cheese curds were more melted and the egg yolk a little bit more runny. But the biggest thing for me is that the dish was way too salty. The people seemed friendly enough and everything came out relatively quick, but the experience felt very rushed. They very hastily dropped the check at the table before we could ask for an order of the doughnuts for dessert. That might've been for the best though, because upon looking at the check I realized how expensive it was. Duckfat wasn't by any means a bad experience. But I also didn't find it to be a particularly memorable one. With how much people hype it up, it pains me to say that I might've gotten my hopes up a little too high only to fall slightly short of the mark.
