It is a nice, casual-dining establishment, decked out in all things "Ford", from motor cars to motors to all kinds of petrolina. Our dinner was tasty, with ample portions, but not over-sized at all. For dinner today I wanted something not too filling but tasty at the same time. The salad hit the spot, except I am not a fan of Gorgonzola cheese so I swapped it for Parmesan. The Firestone shrimp has always been my favorite , it has a good kick of spicy which is perfect for an appetizer. Minus 1 star because the appetizer, salad, fries and a Mac and cheese ran us $70. Just discovered this gem today for lunch. First, the place looks fantastic with a heavy Ford Motor Company decor including three vintage autos outside and a fourth inside hanging over the bar. Not just a couple auto-related artifacts but I mean Ford and auto themed throughout; from gas pump door handles and mechanic-looking attired waitstaff to shop towels for napkins wrapped with a metal hose clamp this place is a site to see. The service was prompt and friendly and the food excellent. I had the blackened chicken Mac n cheese while my mother had the blackened salmon with mashed potatoes and a creamed corn that was doctored well by the cooks. There is a small store with Ford's Garage-themed merch for sale (mostly shirts, hats and glassware) and, of course, I just had to have one of the pint glasses with their logo on it. Being right beside the ford center and museum is the perfect location. It's decorated in ford cars and garage stuff, pretty cool after leaving the museum. Lots of great food options. They have good burgers and the buffalo blackened chicken mac and cheese is delicious. If you are looking for an appetizer you cannot go wrong with the pretzels or the firestone shrimp. The cali burger is a must have. They have a nice selection of beers as well. They usually get pretty busy on weekends but if you go early enough you should get sat fairly quickly. This place was so busy but so efficient. We went in with no reservation but they were able to seat us in about 15 minutes. My smoked old fashioned and my husband's Bells Amber were standout drinks. His burnt end sandwich with chips was delicious as was my fish and chips. Even my side salad with honey mustard was great. The only downside was because they were so busy, they kept asking us if we wanted boxes. They were desperately trying to turn the tables over and both of us are slow eaters. read more

I had the pleasure of meeting up with old friends for lunch at Fords Garage when I was visiting Michigan for the holidays. I was overwhelmed with the excellent service and the quality of the food. It is a large restaurant, with plenty of staff (which you don't always see post-Covid). The location is excellent, and there is plenty of parking, so nothing stressful there. More importantly my traditional burger (1/3 pound is an option if you aren't up for 1/2 pound). I selected tots as my side, but it was the quality of the burger & accurate preparation that stole the show. The food here is a enjoyable and environment here is a little fast pace. It can sometimes be a little loud here I don't think I have been here where it's been just a little quiet. My 4 star comes with this it's just a little too pricey here. For the most part it's open here and it has the museum feel. I have not been here in almost 4 years and I am a local. This place is huge. They have an outdoor patio, indoor dining and 2 full bars. It also has its own private lot. This place was jammed packed when we visited. We had to wait 45 minutes for a table. They use the text system to send a text to your phone when your table is ready. The menu has some fun and delicious drinks and typical pub food. I ordered the meatloaf with fries. It did not take long before it was in front of me and it was delicious and a great alternative to a burger. I got some of their exotic signature drinks to wash down my food. I recommend the frozen blackberry lemonade. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. There are marvelous decorations all over the restaurant. I really loved how it appears you went to the wrong bathroom when you are looking the the glass in the door on the way out. I also like the keg urinal and tire sink. There are also cars all over the place and in the front of the restaurant, which are available for photo ops. There is a small gift shop in the front of the restaurant that has hats, shirts, cups.... The food is heavy, American comfort food. If that's your thing, they do it really well and you'll love it here! The brisket burger and monte crisco were favorites of our group. It seems to be a very family friendly restaurant -- there's a kids menu and there were multiple children sitting at the bar during dinner time. While the decorations on the interior are thematic and well done, there doesn't seem to be a lot of sound insulation. We were there during peak dinner hours, on a weekend, and it was VERY loud. The hightlight for me was the service. We sat at the bar and Kristine was our bartender. From the second we sat down, she was friendly, helpful, thoughtful, and knowledgeable about the menu. On my last day in Michigan, we checked out this local favorite and I was definitely impressed. The "Henry Ford" theme is an awesome novelty idea and a very fun concept. All the details everywhere in the restaurant are phenomenal, especially the jokes in the bathroom with the designs. However, unlike most "touristy" or gimmick restaurants, the food also delivers with a great quality that you typically don't get. The restaurant reminds me of a TGIF or Chili's kind of relaxed, casual restaurant, but the food is definitely way better. On our visit we went with the Black and Blue Burger, Distinguished Gentleman, and Grilled Chicken Cobb Salad. I convinced everyone to get an appetizer with the Buffalo Chicken Dip, but would strongly advise against it. The pretzel appetizer with cheese and mustard would definitely be a better option or the fried pickles as most people typically got those. Otherwise everything was extremely delicious and filling. Looking around I could tell this is a very popular lunch spot and just a fun place to eat at. Sure enough I was reassured in my group, Ford's is always a popular place even though it was raining. This was the first indoor dining experience we've had since things opened back up, and it was a fantastic experience. We did not have reservations, but only had to wait 15 minutes in the car for their text alert. We were seated away from everyone - everything is spaced out nicely - and it was a cozy, intimate corner table, kind of romantic, especially for a sports bar type place. I was very happy. We ordered a few things - starting with beer for him and a mango margarita for me - it was tasty but not much alcohol - I think I'll stick to shots if drinking here. As for food, we started with wings which were EXCELLENT and their version of bang bang shrimp. The wings are my favorite kind - fresh and unbreaded, fried perfectly, crispy and juicy with plenty of tangy sauce. I'd return just for these, they were so good. The shrimp were yummy - fried little shrimps tossed in bang-bang style sauce. I had the buffalo chicken mac and cheese which was awesome and enough for me to take home. Perfectly cooked cavatappi, cheesy and creamy, lots of chicken chunks, and well-seasoned. Hubby had the salmon entree which was perfectly cooked and seasoned; delicious. The service was good - not necessarily excellent - but it was their first weekend open with all these restrictions, so I will not fault them at all. This was my second time coming here, the first time was when they first opened so it's been a while. We took a chance and just walked in because their website stated you didn't have to have a reservation unlike a lot of other restaurants right now. We told the hostess we would take seating at the bar or a table whichever one came open first. She told us the wait was 45 minutes to a hour and we were going to leave but said whatever and waited. Lucky that we did because we were able to be seated at the bar within 10 minutes of waiting. The bartender Gerald was awesome!! He made my margarita to perfection and he was super cool and right on point with everything. We ordered some fried pickles which were really good and I had the bang bang shrimp and some wings which were all good. My husband had a turkey burger and it was very tasty. We stopped here after a day at the Henry Ford, and everyone was in need of some food. The building is really cool, and even though the place was hopping at 1:30, it wasn't that long before we got a table. The service was very friendly, and pretty responsive even though our server was covering a lot of tables. Note to the business - update your menu on the web so my kids don't pick something ahead of time that you no longer carry. We started with the buffalo chicken dip, which was pretty good. Almost everyone got the burgers, which is where I'm marking them down. All of them (even the kids' ones) were pretty overdone. My patty melt had no seasoning, I had to put salt on it and ketchup because the onions and little bit of dressing and cheese didn't add any real flavor to it. The burger patty wasn't juicy, and just didn't have much taste to it - it was definitely cooked too much. It was a real disappointment for a burger that was $14 (which is definitely on the "premium" side). With all the choices in town, I'm not sure I'd be back. read more

My wife grew up in Dearborn, but we now live up by the Bridge. As an aside, I love the fact that in Michigan, you can say "the Bridge" and everyone knows what you mean. We met her sister and husband here for our first time in January, and we loved everything about the restaurant, especially the "Ford" and automobile ambiance of the restaurant. Everything, and I mean everything, is tied to Ford and automobiles - from mechanic rags, tied up with pipe clamps, used as napkins; gas pump handles used as bathroom faucets and door handles; and a full Model A and a Model T hanging over the two bars. My wife had a medical appointment in Detroit earlier today, so we decided to eat here again before heading home tomorrow - which was a great decision. The food is great and the prices are definitely fair, but, even better than the food, the prices, or the decor is the service. All of the wait staff are friendly and eager to help the customers. I would especially like to complement two employees in particular - Laura and Emily, at the bar to the left as you enter the restaurant. Both were very friendly, knowledgeable, cheerful, and helpful. They were also both very fun to speak with as they made sure our water glasses stayed full and we had everything that we needed - without being intrusive. As much as - if not more than - the food and ambiance, these two made our dinner the great experience that it was. I was especially impressed with Laura. As soon as we sat down at the bar, she came over and said that she remembered serving us back in January, and even remembered the table that we sat at then - 9 months after our first, and only, visit to the restaurant. Given how many thousands of customers that she has served in the interim, it was almost unbelievable that she remembered us, but I know that she did because she got the table correct. This was a sign to me of just how much she cares about her customers. We may have only eaten here twice before, but it will now be our go-to restaurant when we come, or pass through, eastern downstate. And, we will always hope that Laura and/or Emily will be working when we do!
