One of my pledges this year is to complete more reviews of dive shops & sites. Used this E-Force Scuba Center once before on a previous scuba trip to Riviera Beach, and used them several times on a recent dive trip to Florida last month. Scuba shops are my favorite candy stores and the Force-E store is one of the best brick and mortar dive shops that I've visited! E-Force is a full-service dive shop, doing repairs and other services in addition to selling gear. My dive buddy uses them to refill her scuba tanks. My dive computer ran out of juice during a dive there, so I went to E-Force to see if they had a new battery and get them to install the battery. They didn't charge me a repair fee to install the new battery, just the cost of the battery- how cool! Several other notable items- I converted from a vest style buoyancy control device (BCD) to a backplate & wing (BPW) setup 4 years ago during COVID. BPW isn't as common in dive shops. Most of them will have just a few accessories or packages. E-Force had a 12 foot wall display of different backplates, wings, accessories, and packages! Underwater photography is another niche market where you don't find much in brick and mortar dive shops. E-Force had a front and back rack with UW photo items. I had to pick up a few things. Lastly they also sell scuba tanks, both aluminum and steel, and accessories. I knew things were getting dangerous when I visited the store 3 times in a two day visit and spent over $300! Like I said, a diver's candy store! Definitely recommend and will repeat when my dive trips bring me back to Riviera Beach! read more

TLDR: Great Scuba center for renting gear. Nice local merch. Great Staff, and they cold fill their tanks for maximal fill. Highly Recommend. The story: We rented tanks and weights and a dive buoy from Force-E so we could dive the Blue Heron Bridge. Scott was awesome and saved us from making the mistake of getting to the bridge too late. High slack tide was at 330pm on a Sunday and we were going to pick up gear at 2pm and try to park. We called at noon and Scott said we probably should head in now to make sure we could get our rentals in time to still get a parking space. Thank God for Scott! We found one of the last parking spots and had a fun dive. When my 1st stage started leaking on my 3rd dive, I brought it to Force-E and they provided me a loaner while they serviced mine. Once again, great cutomer service. One thing I learned from watching them fill their tanks and talking to them is that they fill all their tanks in a cold water bath to idealize the fill. I never thought about it before, but it makes perfect sense that you will get a better fill at lower temps, but I guess it's too much hassle to set it up for other shops. I had never seen that before and thought it was a great value-added. The Good: Great staff. good products, nice shop. They never rushed me through anything and were happy to explain the BHB dive site for us. The Bad: nothing The Mediocre: nothing really. Overall: Love the shop and will return for my Scuba needs on my next trip. Two thumbs way up. read more

My go-to shop in Riviera Beach for so long and for so many reasons... I really appreciate that they keep a "book" of different dive charters so that I can call them and see what boats have availability at late notice or who has a night dive that will definitely go (i.e. has enough divers, we know it's a challenge). Their BHB guides are always on point. Everyone is so knowledgeable about equipment and diving. Of course the great Jeff Nelson! This weekend I wandered in thinking I had some time and would like to address some random 'bits and bobs' of my equipment that wasn't quite perfect. Meg was wonderful, both knowledgeable and patient. She showed me the new fin straps that would make my fins both fit perfectly and come off easily, she worked with me to try to solve the "no D rings on the upper straps of the Zena BCD" for which there is no perfect solution but she found a better one, and she helped me with my troublesome SPG turns out it clearly hadn't been serviced when I brought my reg in and the O rings were in terrible shape. read more

My friend and I had been wanting to dive Blue Heron Bridge since we saw Force E's youtube videos and finally found time to do it. We used Force E's tide calendar on their website and called them to hire a dive guide for morning high tide and night high tide. They seem very busy but listened to my needs, answered all my questions and arranged everything for us. Out guide, Ben, called us as soon as he was assigned to us and made us feel welcome and comfortable. We communicated with him for every question we had about diving at the bridge even before we left our home in Texas. We dove twice with Ben, and it was amazing. Ben went out of his way to make our dives as fun as possible. Since we learned how to dive the bridge, we rented tanks and a dive flag and dove once by ourselves. I can't say enough good things about my recent experience at Force-E. I am from Boston and came down to complete my certification dives with Jeff after completing my e-learning, class sessions, and pool work up north. Jeff is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and funny -- he made me feel comfortable right away. I can't imagine a better place for a first diving experience than the Blue Heron Bridge. At just over 20 feet deep, it was the perfect "baby step" into diving in open water. It was a great place to knockout the certification skills and to practice buoyancy and air control at a safe depth. Plus there were interesting critters to boot! This first dive experience got me feeling confident in advance of my deeper boat dives the following day. Once again, Jeff took the time to make sure I was comfortable and prepared. The sites we visited, Tear Drop and The Trench, were beautiful sites with great visibility. With Jeff's help (and a little from my Nitrox tank!) I managed to log 2 50 minute dives at a depth of 60 ft -- not too shabby for a newbie! I am so glad I found this shop, and would recommend learning with Jeff to any beginner. With this first experience under my belt, I'm excited for my dive next month in Ko Lanta, Thailand, and glad I don't have to stress about finishing my certification abroad. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town -- and I bet my mom's glad, too, because now I have one more reason to make the trip from New England! read more

I'm a new diver with lots of questions about equipment and best practices. luckily I live right down the road from force e rivier. I appreciate that when I go there I feel like I'm being helped and informed rather than sold or persuaded. The staff is enthusiastic and helpful. The fact that the riviera store is located RIGHT next to a great easy shore dive at blue heron bridge, and right across from Publix where I can grab a snack and some waters for the cooler is an added bonus that makes this shop very convienient for some fun weekends at the BHB. I want to give an extra shout out to Jeff Nelson who went out of his way to show me the differences between some bcd's and then having the patience and proffesionalism to deal with more than a little indecision on my part. In the end I went with a Transplate bpw setup that he put together for me with attention to some details that I would have otherwise overlooked. Force E has a points program where your dollars spent earn points redeemable for air fills, rental equipment, and even a boat charter. they also have guided available and here another shoutout is deserved. I went on my first night dive with John Richert who is an incredibly smart and smart and interesting person in addition to being an incredibly competent diver/instructor. I'm a beginner diver and was going to dive a 2 tank dive with friends at the Blue Heron bridge, so I stopped here to pick up tanks. Once I told them I was doing a two tank dive at the bridge, they refused to rent two tanks. The guy said it was only about 20 feet and he could go down for 3 hours on a single tank. Good for him, that's great, but I'm a beginner and I can't. I understand where they're coming from, people rent tanks for people who aren't certified and they want to prevent that, but that's not what I was doing. Moral of the story? If you want to go on a two tank dive at the bridge, tell them you are going on a boat. Or better yet, go to a different dive shop. read more

Nothing beats walking into a store that treats you professionally, courteously, with the evident knowledge of their services and products, obviously. But where these folks really stand tall above the rest besides all of the above, is the laboratory nature of their facilities and the way they really care when handling equipment. And think about it, when you are literally putting your life in the quality and status of the equipment with which you dive, you REALLY want that extra level of assurance. Erika, Rachel and Raphael really did an awesome job when helping me choose equipment just from a phone call, which made me ask them to have it ready even though I had yet to pay for it, and lo a behold, they had everything ready for me upon my arrival. Granted, when you are spending $600 plus you bring a little extra attention, but that's the thing, I had not even been there. I came to Force E to fill my tanks for my first Ocean Dive- I inadvertently forgot two tanks and Woody called me and waited after hours so I could pick them up. Super friendly and helpful staff. Once I started my dive to get my certification I surfaced too quickly and panicked at the surface- the Coast Guard had to rescue me after Captain Dustin and his crew pulled me from the water and performed emergency procedures. Later while I was in the ER Capt Dustin and crew stopped in to check on me! What a spectacular staff and crew Force E has. PS. Don't EVER bring a banana on Capt Dustins boat!! It's considered bad luck- I ate one right before the dive to help w leg cramps and I blame it for my incident. Lol read more
