Had a lot of fun on the water today thanks to the Jupiter Outdoor Center kayak rentals. I'm taking one star off because it took me a LONG time to reach somebody on the phone while trying to reschedule my appointment. Otherwise, everything else went smoothly.

I love this place. Always amazing and super friendly staff. Equipment is always in great shape. Nothing beats the sites and the raw natural beauty of the Loxahatchee!

    Small rapid-only one

My husband and I are in our mid 60's and it was easy and enjoyable. One small rapid , fun but not difficult. Our quide was informative and easy going. I would highly recommend this fun activity to get out and see a different area of jupiter

We reserved via website a four hour canoe rental for two people. Definitely consult the website and it answers many questions. The center is located just within Riverbend Park. The canoe, paddles, and PFDs were in good shape. The canoes had back rests installed. All staff we met were friendly and explained the paddle route (a waterproof map is provided). The check in area (I highly recommended reserving as it became busy ) is near to the launch area. There is an also nearby building with restrooms. Parking is ample. Ethan at the launch area explained directions , tips for sightseeing, handed out paddles etc. He was very enthusiastic about the Loxahatchee River and its beauty. For busy days (in season and on weekends) there should have been another employee at the launch area to help guests. The river itself is magnificent. Depending on your rental time there are different turnaround points along the canoe trail. On the way back to River Bend Park there is a current which obviously adds on time. There is much wildlife to see along the river including alligators, turtles, birds, snakes , raccoons & fish. Keep your eyes peeled for the gators as they are definitely there. It is tight paddling at some points. Majestic Cypress trees line the river. We chose a canoe for added stability. At the two dams we stopped at there are portage ramps to bring your canoe or kayak out of the water if you prefer (explained in your briefing). They are great spots to rest and enjoy a picnic lunch. Some tips are to bring a hat, sunscreen, clothes and shoes (water shoes or Crocs) that you don't mind getting wet. Bring a cooler for water and food, a dry bag for keys , money etc. (have a way to fasten it to the canoe ). Ziplock bags are great for cell phones- have pockets to put phones in when not in use.

Very organized and helpful. Riverbend is a beautiful place to kayak...truly a hidden gem.

I'm moving out of state and JOC is easily one of the things I'll miss the most about South Florida. The paddle down the Loxahatchee is the best kayak trip you can take in Palm Beach County. Trust me, I've tried them all! You are constantly spotting and discovering new things: from air plants to alligators! The scenery makes you feel like you're in Hawaii or another world, not near the hustle and bustle of Palm Beach. It's also a great spot because you're shaded by the beautiful cypress trees. Using a kayak from JOC to show off wild Florida to friends or just to have some alone time has often been the highlight of my day. I'll miss this place, enjoy it for me!

We did the kayaking tour with guide Richie. It was a blast and I would absolutely do it again. I have zero complaints and recommend this place for outdoor activities wholeheartedly.

This is the best thing I've done in a long time!!! What a wonderful experience!!! I booked a two hour tandem kayak online with Jupiter Outdoor Center. The process was super easy. No extra fees for booking online. I read that we also needed to sign waivers. I was able to sign my with ease and was able to email the waiver to my friend. She filled it out and we were all set. The day before our booking I received an email from JOC with directions and what to expect. It was great. We arrived just before our appointment and the staff was so nice! They had all of our information and since we had already filled out the waivers we could go right on the river. They let us know where to go, what to do and told us to have fun. The customer experience for me was so well done! We floated down the river and we were in awe of the beauty. We saw turtles and birds. No alligators sited, we were warned we may see some and to stay in our kayak. We had the best time. It was so peaceful. When we returned they pulled us up and we headed home. It was a great hassle free adventure!

Only 15 feet away! Can you see the bird?

Great place! Saw birds, turtles, and fish! We rented a canoe. They have kayaks and bicycles available to rent, also. The lady at the front was very helpful in telling us about the landmarks to avoid us getting lost on our own.(Pay attention to their guidance and remember what you see on your trip to know how to get back) We had a terrific trip on July 5th, 2022. Highly recommend this location for a wonderful trip.

I came to visit my family and my brother loves using this company to kayak. It was incredible! Alex was wonderful and she made our experience that much better. I would highly recommend this company and the views are breathtaking! Hopefully when you get there, Alex will be there!

Amazing experience with this amazing company. Was introduced to places I didn't even know existed in the area that were full of magic and natural beauty. Our tour also included some local history and stories which i thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend JOC for any and all of your outdoor needs. - Whitney Lasseter

Next, we received a call from Desert Rose Ranch on Tuesday afternoon the following week whereby we were asked if we could reschedule our Wednesday morning lesson due to there suddenly being too many riders who were apparently also scheduled to ride at the same time as us. We patiently responded with a positive response that we would go ahead and accommodate Desert Rose Ranch's request and reschedule our lesson, despite the inconvenience and burden upon us to reschedule our other important events for that day. We rescheduled our lesson with Desert Rose Ranch for Thursday morning instead. On Thursday morning, the day of our rescheduled lesson as requested per Desert Rose Ranch, we dressed and made all preparations for our rescheduled lesson. Then, literally within one hour prior to the start of our rescheduled lesson, Desert Rose Ranch texted us informing us that they could no longer accommodate us and once again asked if we would not mind rescheduling our lesson. Even still, Desert Rose Ranch texted us just the late afternoon prior to Thursday morning to confirm our scheduled lesson, to which we replied we confirm. The excuse Desert Rose Ranch provided to us was that there were just too many riders and horses scheduled at the same time as our lesson and haphazardly mentioned that was not ideal. We then replied with reasonable frustration to their text asking Desert Rose Ranch to please explain why they decided to inform us of the need to reschedule, not only for the second time, but also at the very last hour before our lesson was to begin when they had ample time to diligently redress the schedule appropriately ahead of time. Desert Rose Ranch bluntly replied with a canned response stating that all decisions and changes are made based on safety concerns for riders and horses. We completely agree that safety is paramount, however Desert Rose Ranch poorly failed at properly planning and scheduling the riders and horses ahead of time, thereby resulting in last minute, unacceptable corrective measures at the expense of their clients. Once we expressed our disappointment to Desert Rose Ranch, they responded that they will make some changes and that we should go ahead and still show up for our lesson. The preparation and distance alone to travel to Desert Rose Ranch is by no means a simple and effortless undertaking. The question we now ask is Desert Rose Ranch compromising their safety protocols by allowing us to still participate in a now overcrowded ring? By this stage, we then requested to speak to the owner of Desert Rose Ranch. We sent this request at 8:27am. We have received absolutely no response for the remainder of the entire day from neither the owner nor anyone else on behalf of Desert Rose Ranch. Meanwhile, Desert Rose Ranch gladly accepted our prepayment of the lesson in advance of the lesson. It is baffling how Desert Rose Ranch treats its clients in such a despicable and unprofessional manner. We are disgusted with such disrespectful consideration. One can only justifiably consider the question that this poor treatment of their clients possibly extends to the innocent animals in their care.

Then they called me suddenly Thursday morning one hour before the rescheduled lesson , at which point we were already dressed and on the way. Honestly, this is disappointing. At the end of this havoc, they decided to ignore me even after asking the for the owner to respond. What a disgrace. Never come here even if you are desperate. I rarely find myself having to leave negative reviews, but this experience was awful.

If your kid is interested in basketball, this is the only option if you want your kid to develop in a league with zero parent involvement and exceptional coaches. Recently we tried PBGYAA recreation league and I was amazed at how unprofessional and, to be quite honest, dangerous that the basketball games were. Palm Beach Gardens is known for having a bunch of professional golfers in the area. One of them donated 30k and his son's team won the championship in a game where the bias from the referees was undeniable. My son was in a lower division and, not only was the officiating biased, but the games were brutal and violent. For example, when a player would beat the opponent off of the dribble, the defender would tackle him. The shocking part is that the referees did not blow the whistle or award free throws ever. I shot film of the games and asked Benji, the commissioner of the league, if I could send him the footage. He replied "I was watching both games at the same time and they were called right." I told him "I understand why you don't want to see the footage. It is because you know that what i am telling you has merit and you are too stubborn to acknowledge any mistakes by you or your biased referees." I am including the PBGYAA experiences here because the league does not have a yelp that I can see and I'm hopeful that others will take this post to heart when deciding which basketball league to put their kid in. Me personally; we will be avoiding PBGYAA like the plague and sticking with Perseverance only from here on out: Hope that this helps anybody whose kid is interested in basketball. Perseverance really is special and we are so thankful to Nate, the founder, Coach Austin, and everybody involved with the program.
