The staff is always so nice and greet you when you walk in and the admission is FREE unless you'd like to make a donation which is greatly appreciated and helps the local turtles and sea life. Kids will have a great time! They even have a children's play area on the upper deck. Very interactive! The outside area is shaded with canopy's and has many tanks filled with turtles, sharks, fish, and stingrays. It's amazing to see and get up close with the beautiful creatures God has created. They have guided tours and there are many volunteers near the tanks to answer all your questions. Very nice, dedicated crew. My favorite is the gift shop. It has a bit of everything you could want and makes a perfect place to get gifts and souvenirs for your family, friends, and yourself. I got a beautiful necklace, a beautiful collar and leash for my puppy back home, and a postcard for my friend. Everything is priced really fairly and it is a donation to help the turtles at the marine life center. I would recommend getting there early or when they open. Parking is HORRENDOUS. It always is usually especially with spring break. You might be waiting awhile for a parking spot. If you see someone starting to leave or backing out wait behind them and give them room to back out and then pull in to their spot. Parking is the only thing that's stressful but you can eventually get a spot. This is a must visit place for the whole family. I love Loggerhead!

The entire event was set up neatly, and you could tell how much care and effort went into making it special. The volunteers and staff were incredibly knowledgeable and super friendly. They took the time to explain the different species of sea turtles and shared so much interesting information in a way that was easy for both adults and kids to understand. It was not only fun, but also a wonderful learning experience. The festival itself was fantastic. There was live entertainment on stage, many vendors to explore, and even free rides, which my kids absolutely loved. The setting alongside the ocean, with the clear blue water, made the whole experience even more beautiful. I also appreciated the hydration stations with free water--it showed how thoughtful and well-planned the event was.

Rich wore a white lab coat & brought a table cloth & props to present to our community. Rich called children up to his table & was engaging. His experiments with balloons & a leaf blower weren't particularly interesting. Unfortunately, he didn't bring slime; the children made a catapult instead. Scientist Rich walked around and helped the children make their catapults using a spoon, rubber band and popsicle sticks. The mad scientist said there was miscommunication. We made numerous phone calls regarding the miscommunication & disappointing take away activity. This was a very expensive activity that barely lasted an hour & lost half of the children before it was over. I was bored & most of the adults were on their phones. The feedback was that a woman in previous years did more fun activities and the catapult wasn't fun.

That being said, although it was not a birthday party, and just our annual party that we host at our home, the host did not ask me about my kids in the planning (other the ages of the attendees) or to point them out upon arrival, and my kids (both of whom who sat front row for the show) were not selected to participate in any of the tricks or activities despite raising their hands over and over and were upset.

According to their website "The…read moremission of the River Center is to foster a sense of environmental stewardship for the Loxahatchee River's diverse watershed with quality education programs, exhibits and meaningful events." This small eco museum is dedicated to educating the public about the Loxahatchee River which is home to many endangered and threatened animals like woodstorks and manatees. Along the banks of the river it is common to see alligators, turtles, river otters, deer, raccoon, turkey, bald eagles, owls, heron, ibis, egrets, gopher tortoise, osprey, storks, scrub jay and many other species. Some of the more common types of fish in the river include bass, panfish, mullet, snook, tarpon, redfish and jacks. The Loxahatchee River flows through a 260 square mile ecosystem that includes the communities of Jupiter, Tequesta, Juno Beach, Jupiter Island, Jupiter Inlet Colony, Jupiter Farms, Hobe Sound and Palm Beach Gardens. After gently flowing through freshwater creeks and down into a brackish estuary, the river enters the Jupiter Inlet before emptying into the Atlantic Ocean. In 1985 the Loxahatchee River was federally designated a wild and scenic river, one of only two such designated rivers in Florida. if you are interested in exploring the river more closely, kayaks and canoes can be rented at Riverbend Park. This small free museum is set up in a circle. On the outside of the building is a timeline of Jupiter history starting with 6000-5000 BC when the Loxahatchee River watershed was formed. Inside you will see interpretative signs about Jupiter shark explorations, where the drinking water comes from and goes, and how to balance water use. While the museum is geared toward children I enjoyed all of the aquariums containing the fish and turtles you would find in the river along with some saltwater tanks. They also have a touch tank that you can explore with a staff member. In addition to the museum the Loxahatchee River Center offers various classes and programs throughout the year. A full list of events can be found on their website. If you have a few minutes to spare in Jupiter it is well worth stopping here to learn about the river that is so important to the ecosystem health of this area.

This park is big!…read more In the front is the fire department and a lot of boat trailer parking, with 2 or 3 loading docks for boats,etc.. In the middle is the (wonderful!) Loxahatchee River Center. I had never been farther than here, until recently. It is worth checking out! Behind the Center is a large parking lot with several secluded spots with picnic tables that sit along the River, a large covered pavilion that is rentable, a lot of what looks like horseshoe tossing stations, a volleyball court (without a net), a sweet little playground, and nice public bathrooms. The playground here is great - rarely busy, it has just enough different elements to keep it fun, plus swings. It is shady, with a lovely waterfront breeze, and benches for adults to sit on. While it is not fenced in, it is connected to a picnic area and generally feels pretty secluded. When the playground gets old, my kids and I walked towards the public docks. There is a paddleboard renting structure there, where you can rent one by using a credit card, but the lifejackets are pretty sun-worn-out. Really cool concept though! My kids like to walk out on the docks and check out the boats that frequent this area. There is also a kayak entrance where they can get their feet wet next to the mangroves. After hitting up this area and back in my car, I finally drove the loop behind the Center. It is all waterfront, with little covered picnic spots and river access for those with kayaks or canoes. What perfect spots for a gathering or hangout. These are almost hidden, as the road loops one way and parking is all in the grass.

The park was named for Burt who was a lifelong resident of the area. The 35.55 acre park that bears his name spans both sides of US Highway 1. The main attraction of the park is the Loxahatchee River Center which has aquariums and interactive exhibits. Unfortunately it was closed on our visit. There is also a nature area out back. If you are a boater or fisherman you can do both recreational activities here. There are boat ramps and canoe and kayak launches. 2,000 feet ofthe park is on the intracoastal. There is also a playground, sand volleyball court, picnic pavilion, picnic tables, grills, and a restroom. I think that it is really nice that Jupiter decided to honor Burt by naming a park for him. He gave a lot back to his community and although he is no longer with us his presence still looms large in the town that he loved.

We have been at Perseverance for over a year now and I am so thankful for the program…read more Every season of the year Perseverance hosts a new basketball league from ages k-6th grade and even some through middle school. If your kid is interested in basketball, this is the only option if you want your kid to develop in a league with zero parent involvement and exceptional coaches. Recently we tried PBGYAA recreation league and I was amazed at how unprofessional and, to be quite honest, dangerous that the basketball games were. Palm Beach Gardens is known for having a bunch of professional golfers in the area. One of them donated 30k and his son's team won the championship in a game where the bias from the referees was undeniable. My son was in a lower division and, not only was the officiating biased, but the games were brutal and violent. For example, when a player would beat the opponent off of the dribble, the defender would tackle him. The shocking part is that the referees did not blow the whistle or award free throws ever. I shot film of the games and asked Benji, the commissioner of the league, if I could send him the footage. He replied "I was watching both games at the same time and they were called right." I told him "I understand why you don't want to see the footage. It is because you know that what i am telling you has merit and you are too stubborn to acknowledge any mistakes by you or your biased referees." I am including the PBGYAA experiences here because the league does not have a yelp that I can see and I'm hopeful that others will take this post to heart when deciding which basketball league to put their kid in. Me personally; we will be avoiding PBGYAA like the plague and sticking with Perseverance only from here on out: Hope that this helps anybody whose kid is interested in basketball. Perseverance really is special and we are so thankful to Nate, the founder, Coach Austin, and everybody involved with the program.
