Tara and team were very well organized and took care of most everything so the parents could sit back and relax.

This is perfect for little kids but not so much for older kids. There is a lifeguard there at all times, only watching this splashpad, which is very cool. Still must be very watchful as a parent. I wish there was more shade for seated, watching parents, but so be it. There is a shady picnic grassy area adjacent to the splash pad that can easily be used to host a birthday party. The picnic tables are not close enough to the splashpad to be able to watch your kids from here. This whole area is fenced in and only accessible by coming through the front of the Aquatic Center's check in gate. Then only those who purchase additional tickets can enter this area to use the splash pad. My friend brought coolers and had a nice party here. We first noticed the splash pad during swimming lessons here. Since it is inside of the Aquatic Center, it is not very visible from the road. Please note that only bathing suits are allowed; no normal shorts are allowed. They will enforce this! Plenty of parking in the parking lot.

I registered my daughter for this program fall 2023, she had a good time and the facility was…read moreclean, she also participated in a camp on the summer. august 2024 I contacted the studio asked if we could try out a hip hop class, they said yes and my daughter did and I wasn't impressed and my daughter thought it was boring... after the class, I asked my daughter (who is 6) if she wanted to do a ballet class because I had heard that some of her friends were going to be attending this class as well she said maybe.. The Monday before the class Hope (the owner) contacted me via text message to see if I would be registering my daughter for the hip-hop class (Which I thought was strange) I responded with I think we're going to do ballet. I think it's on Tuesday... Hope responded with they had a Tuesday class and a Wednesday class I told her I think we will be attending the Tuesday class however my daughter is not feeling well but we will try to make it The owner responded with I will add her to the roster I hope she feels better. I responded with thank you, because that's what you do when someone tells you that they hope your child feels better when they're not well. A few minutes later, she charged my credit card, which I didn't even know until I had looked at my statement did not know that her telling me she was going to add my daughter to the roster meant she was going to register my child for this class. I wasn't even sure if we were going to make it, I had planned on registering my child the night we attended the class. I did not know that "I'm going to add her to the roster" meant that you're going to pay for this class now I'm fighting with the credit card company trying to get a refund for a class that my daughter did not attend and for a class that I did not register my daughter for. I'm the one who should decide if I register my child for a class or not the owner took it upon herself to keep my credit card information on file since June 2024 to then turn around and charge my credit card in August 2024 without my permission. She did not ask me if I wanted my child registered for the class. She simply said I'm going to add her to the roster. When I told her I wanted a refund because we're not going to do the class she told me she couldn't give me a refund. I picked up the phone and tried to call her. She didn't even answer my call. She just simply continued to send me text messages. Then in the same conversation, she told me that she would give me a 50% refund. Honestly, it's not about the money. It's the simple fact that I didn't give this company permission to charge my card. I didn't give permission to register my child for this class.. Going forward, I would hope that they would not conduct business via text messaging and I would hope that next time they charge somebody's credit card that they need to spell out I am adding your child to the roster, which means I am taking it upon myself to register your child for this class. I never thought that I would be going back-and-forth about an extracurricular activity that I never registered for that my child never attended. This whole situation has been completely ridiculous, unnecessary and unprofessional

So we made the detour to this historic Art Deco building to see what their gallery had to offer. The building was a WPA project during the depression. It was built in 1939. After many years as a military building, and some years in disrepair, it became an arts school in the the late 80's. It's gone through renovations and expansions. It is now an arts education school with many classes for all ages and in the summer a lot of workshops, etc., for kids from young ages through teens. Attached to the school was a small one room art gallery with an exhibit highlighting mainly clay pieces done by students and teachers. Each ceramic piece was marked with a price and displayed the name (s) of the artist and the teacher's name. Exhibitions change periodically. There was no charge to enter, but donations are accepted. We couldn't see the other (creative) studios as entry was restricted. More interesting to me was their sculpture garden outside with a few appealing items and the manicured grounds that faced the street. They've hosted an art festival for the last few years (in December) outside on these grounds.

For a jewelry making task, they were given wire, string, and seashells, and were simply told to wrap wire around the shells tie it to the string for a necklace. They were shown an example, but never shown how to do it, and lacked tools. They spent a good bit of time on their phones when they had nothing to do, and at one point, another child in the group had to ask if they could all have some beads to string because they literally weren't doing anything. Needless to say, I called the director, but was fed a bunch of excuses such as "it won't be the same as last year, because we don't have that same studio to use." Yet, she assured me she would make sure there were more things for them to do the next day. I told my daughter to try it out again on Tuesday, but to call me at lunch if it felt as underwhelming as the previous day. Sure enough, I received the phone call. In their jewelry class, they were learning how to make seed bead flowers... but here is the catch... she told them to look up the method on their phones to learn!!! Geez, I could do that at home for a lot cheaper than I paid for this camp! I went and picked my daughter up where I was 'greeted' by the camp director (Jeanie, not sure on spelling?) telling me that it was my fault that one of the camp instructors quit because of my concerned phone call, and now she only has one instructor, and it's all because of me. Went on to say that he said he was tired of dealing with armory parents like myself. To me, this is just an omission of guilt, I guess I'm not the only parent with concerns??? She continued on with her blame rampage saying that my daughter brought a bad attitude to camp with her, and was refusing to do things. That's when I demanded to speak with the teacher who confirmed what I already knew, my daughter was not negative, and did participate in the activities (as poorly planned out as they were for a group of 13-17 year olds). I've given the Armory many chances, but they just can't seem to get it together. The last camp she attended there a few summers ago, she came home upset with how mean she saw the director treating instructors and helpers... interestingly enough that director was fired by week's end. On top of that, the last 2 classes we signed her up for were cancelled due to another instructor quitting and lack of enrollment. It's pretty sad, my daughter loves art and we have heard this place was so wonderful back in its prime.

I as a parent a light shower and cloudy day did not bother me what so ever but putting my son or anyones child in danger is not something am open minded at all . As the day before I inquired if camp was going to be avaliable but recieved no answer after several attempts that morning prior to attending camp finally got a text message back "yes camp will go on ;-)". I dialed the camp number again and she finally answered I asked where and how was the camp going to go on she answered Veteran's park under an open pavilion the thunderstorms will pass and they will fish from the dock there will be plenty of activities. My gut feeling SIREN TURNED on as I glanced at my window and saw how hard the rain and lightening was hitting and I immediately told myself I would not have him attend As the weather started turning bad at 8:47 am I send an email stating that my son will not be able to attend for two days due to the severe weather conditions and would like for the days to be made up she had a counselor write back and tell me that they could only give me a voucher for after the summer to use .. also informed me that no child missed camp today only mines I find that extremely had to believe and I find that unacceptable .. I signed my son up for surf camp and due to severe lightening storms he was unable to attend .. Either way I would not trust a women who does n't care about the safety of her students only the $$$$. I will upload images of not only the weather report but her email response . I will not only report this person to the state but let everyone know what this women stands for.

They showed up 1 hour late, only had 4 boogie boards for the kids and no other water sport options (despite what their website says). We also paid for a BBQ with Mac and cheese and s'mores. They instead ordered pizza because they brought wet coal and couldn't start the BBQ at the park. Other families nearby were BBQing. Not us. After the party we complained and Maya apologized and assured us they would refund us half the cost. After a week of texting and emailing her, the company never voluntarily reimbursed us. We had to dispute the charges with our credit card. In short, I would not recommend this company to anyone.
