Manatee Lagoon - Puffer fish

Manatee Lagoon

Always a fun place to visit!…read more Manatee Lagoon is always one of our favorite spots to take our guests when they come to visit us from up North. It's such a unique Florida experience, and you never know how many manatees you're going to see! It's especially exciting when you see the moms with their babies gathered together in the warm water. The manatees are drawn to the warm-water outflow from the nearby power plant, particularly when the temperatures are cooler, and it's amazing to watch them peacefully hovering around. The observation areas give you a great view of these gentle giants, and there's something so special about seeing them up close in their natural environment. It's also an educational experience, with information about manatees, their habitat and conservation. Whether you're a local or have family and friends visiting from out of town, Manatee Lagoon is definitely worth a stop. It's a fun, relaxing and memorable way to experience one of Florida's most beloved animals!

I was there yesterday as the season ends March 31 and there were absolutely no manatees in view. The Lagoon is located near the FPL plant which makes sense that they gathered there as water is warmer during cool months. I enjoyed the surroundings and ocean views and great weather. There is a picnic area and nice boardwalk. Excellent educational center where you can learn everything about manatees and eco systems. They also have a gift shop with lots all things manatee theme from clothing to cute souveniers. Great educational center for families to enjoy with their kids. It is free entrance and it is closed from April 1st through November 14th.

Palm Beach Gardens Aquatic Complex

We really love this place, live right next door, are palm beach gardens residents, and have come…read morehere several times. The kids area is unsurpassed for all ages. Really nice place with friendly attentive lifeguards. Every time we have come here the people working the checkout have been bizarre. When I came here yesterday I went out of my way to be friendly, and yet someone called Erin or Erica butted her way into the conversation. She's like going on and on about this is your receipt for a rain check and if you get it wet we aren't stamping it and you're not getting back in here, that's your responsibility. Who even talks like that? Sad. It was really clear that her anger had little to do with us. So then I'm like saying well I don't have any compartments in my bag could I just leave my receipt here and write my name on it in case the park closes or it would get wet and she's saying we have over 400 people here a day and that's not my problem. The young girl we started our conversation with had much better social awareness. When we did inevitably get a rain check they said oh you have 3 days to come back but we're closed for maintenance on one of them. So for us that would have been the only day we could return without having to skip a summer class that we already pay for. Tone deaf.

I've never been to this aquatic center so the 2 stars is based off of the hours of operation. You'd think a big splash pad in the middle of PBG would be open Monday - Sunday with decent hours. It really doesn't make sense. Please change your hours so me and I'm sure a lot of other families can come and enjoy the aquatic center!!!!
