Overall, it's a fun water park, but there are definitely a few things to keep in mind before you go. The day of the week makes a HUGE difference. I've had the best experiences going during the week on a school day because you can actually ride everything without waiting in ridiculously long lines. On one visit, one of the lines took forever because the machine that brings the floats back up broke down and someone had to come fix it. One thing that really disappointed me was the music. Since Rapids is supposed to be a family/kid-oriented water park, I was surprised by how ratchet and inappropriate some of the DJ's music was. Even as an adult, I found it distasteful and really not appropriate for a place where there are so many children. The park could also be cleaner. The bathrooms in particular were pretty disgusting and didn't seem well maintained. The food is definitely overpriced, but that's expected at an amusement park. You also can't bring your own food into the park, so you're pretty much stuck purchasing food there. That being said, I actually thought the food was pretty good for what it is! I do think Rapids is really cute for kids, especially with all of the themed children's areas and slides. I still have fun every time I go, but I think it's important to set your expectations. Go on a weekday if you can, expect long lines on busy days, and be prepared for some cleanliness and music issues. Overall, it's still a fun day out, but there are definitely some things I think the park could improve.

When I came here yesterday I went out of my way to be friendly, and yet someone called Erin or Erica butted her way into the conversation. She's like going on and on about this is your receipt for a rain check and if you get it wet we aren't stamping it and you're not getting back in here, that's your responsibility. Who even talks like that? Sad. It was really clear that her anger had little to do with us. So then I'm like saying well I don't have any compartments in my bag could I just leave my receipt here and write my name on it in case the park closes or it would get wet and she's saying we have over 400 people here a day and that's not my problem. The young girl we started our conversation with had much better social awareness. When we did inevitably get a rain check they said oh you have 3 days to come back but we're closed for maintenance on one of them. So for us that would have been the only day we could return without having to skip a summer class that we already pay for. Tone deaf.

The water is usually clear and you can see some marine life very easily. The best time to visit is during the weekday or early morning 7-9am on the weekends. ARRIVE EARLY. Any other time its really crowded and the parking is horrible, but it is free. You can access the beach right from the parking lot and it is short distance which is prefect for me and my family. There are some BBQ areas to grill and eat. Also a great place to snorkel and dive.

Lots to do eat and see and they are okay with outside food with lots of picnic areas. We did the giraffe painting premium experience which was worth it since it also includes admission into the park. We ordered salads and burgers from their inside restaurant connected to the gift shop. Ordering from their kiosk is very easy and the food rang on a buzzer in good time. We loved the lorikeet area and paid $3 for the juice to feed the lorikeets (card only, no cash). There is a nice water park area for the kids. The best time to see all the animals is in the morning when they open, that's when they get fed and you're most likely going to have an animal walk in front of your car, so cool!

The animals are super hot and they are resting in the shade. They have a giraffe interaction area. There's also a little splash area for kids and a merry go round. You may want to bring a wheelchair for older ones. You can visit the food area and gift shop to take home a stuffed animal and the area has air conditioning to help you cool down.

Fast-forward all these years later, and they've definitely made some upgrades! My nephew, who I've been bringing here over the years and is now 16, and I decided to come hang out for a couple of hours before his flight back to Texas. The place looks SO much nicer when you walk up. There's now a QR code you can scan with your phone to sign your waiver before going in, which makes things super convenient. As soon as you walk in, there's also a nice bar area to your left, and they did a great job with it. The welcome desk is right there up front, and the staff helps you set up your packages and add money to your game cards. We decided to each get a go-kart pass and then put some additional money on a game card so we could play afterward. Now, the go-karts... I feel like these definitely still need an upgrade--or at least some fixing. I am a PUT-MY-FOOT-ALL-THE-WAY-DOWN-ON-THE-GAS kind of girl, so I took off pretty quickly and was one of the first people to start. Somehow, I was almost one of the last people to finish because my go-kart--and my husband's--was SO slow! I've done indoor go-karting before, and this definitely felt like the PG version. So, if you're looking for a fast, adrenaline-pumping go-kart experience , fingers crossed you don't get the slow go kart. That was honestly my biggest disappointment. We also spent about $65 playing games and, of course, ended up cashing in our tickets for our dollar-store-quality prizes. But hey, it's all part of the experience! When I arrived I am not sure if we had a reserved time to bowl but we had to wait an hour for two lanes to open up. It's pretty expensive as they charge per hour ($60) + rental shoes ($5). But if you have the max amount of players, it could be worth it. Staff could be more polite and patient. I didn't find my interaction charming when I was getting my bowling shoes. The bar area is a nice touch. Doesn't really fit the indoor theme of the place. I think something more whimsical like a carnival theme would have been better. I wanted to check out the arcade but it was too crowded and hectic with all the kids. It may be a fun family night out or a very casual affordable date idea. I don't know how soon I'll be coming back although I want to explore it more. There's even an outdoor racetrack it looked like. She was friendly, patient, and made the whole experience feel welcoming from the start. It's easy to tell when someone genuinely cares about making sure guests have a good time, and Kelly did exactly that. Thanks to her, our visit was smooth and a lot of fun. Highly recommend asking for her if you're heading there!

We ordered pizza, chicken tenders, and fries as well those were just okay, nothing special, but the kids enjoyed them. Pricing was reasonable overall. The large air hockey was not working there were 2 smaller tables and a pool table, which we noticed had 2 of the same number 15 balls and another missing. You can only buy either $20 or $50 or even more expensive game card nothing in-between it offered 400 points or 1200. They also required to sign a waiver even though we only were going to play video games, which was off since other places do not do that. We still just made the best of it to enjoy the fun.
