I only lowered the overall experience, because her coworkers didn't share that same level of professionalism. if i could i would give them 0/5 stars. front desk staff was unhelpful from the beginning and pushy at the end when we denied getting glasses from them. the doctor, stephen houghton, was disrespectful, dismissive and misogynistic. kept interrupting every sentence, continuously tried to belittle us, and dismissed our concerns due to the fact we were too young. awful service through and through. read more

I went to the For Eyes location on Kendall Drive and 127 Ave to buy new glasses. Buying new glasses did not work out but Javier, the Optician, was extremely knowledgeable and cooperative and made my experience delightful even though it could have been a disaster. I highly recommend both Javier and the optical store if you need glasses. read more

Great team, Efficient service, lots of options, and incredibly fast turn around on orders. Jeff, Orlando, and all others were incredibly welcoming when I first arrived and placed order which took maybe 30-45 (Walk-in) with no appointment. Picking up, less than a week later lol, I was in and out in 5 minutes after they made sure it fit and made the adjustments. Fast fast fast. Would swear they are a drive-through. Father / daughter team of doctors.. Daughter is a doctor, father the sales man. Daughter (doctor) offers a solution that i am happy with and then the dad walks in. The dad says that is not an option any more and i either do nothing or go for his option, the most expensive one that i do not think works well for me. Special kudos to Gisela and Jeff who were amazing during my last visit, Jeff dealt efficiently with my insurance issue and Gisela assisted me in choosing my new frames (which is always the difficult part for me). Dr. Houghton is one of the best eye doctors and is always very helpful. He makes you feel like you're at home and is very funny. Last March I bought a pair of progressive glasses here for close to $500 (with insurance). I bought the warranty for the frames as well. Well, the frames broke by November and I had to use the warranty. Keep in mind that with the warranty I still had to pay 25% of the cost of the replacement frames. The replacement frames broke within 3 months. I DID NOT ABUSE the frames in any way. I really think that I deserve another replacement at NO charge. This should not have happened. The staff said that they would not replace them. I would have to pay full price for new frames. I will not go there again. They don't stand behind their merchandise. There's one thing I just can't wrap my head around. Why would they lose a VERY good customer over the cost of a pair of cheap frames? read more

I had been going to vision works for years. However, when I decided to make the switch to For Eyes after several recommendations. They tested my eyes and even let me do a test to see the back of my eye for free! It was so cool to see how the back of my eye looked and if there were any concerns. Then I picked my glasses. When I came to pick them up they said the lab had included the HD for them for free! I couldn't believe how considerate and thoughtful they were here. The only reason i came here was because of my insurance. I used to got to Visionworks but they are longer part of my plan. I cannot imagine having to buy glasses without having insurance. They can really get expensive and i honestly have no idea how people without insurance gethem or contacts. Mad props to them. Its a huge expense. The great thing about my visit to FOr Eyes is that in one visit i had my eye checkup and got my glasses in one session. I do however recommend an appointment because they always seem to be busy and have a full house. They do have appointments on Saturday so that makes them uber convienient. The Eye DOc was really great and the staff super helpful. They do have a great selection of frames if your going for the 4 eyes look and they offer all the extras like transitions and stuff. read more

I wanted to update my review. shortly after me posting my review I was contacted by the manager Aleida.unfortunately it was a missed call and it was already to late to call back. The next day I received a email from Jorge vega manager of customer service. that he apologized for the inappropriate behavior of the staff, he was very attentive and handled my complaint very professionally. After I informed him of the situation he went ahead and refunded me the $55 dollars they overcharged me for the eye exam. And they said they would be taking my complaint as well to the regional manager to further allow this from happening again. I appreciated the efforts of the Aleida and Jorge to turn my experience. I usually go here to get an annual eye exam and order my contact lenses here without any problems. But now that they are remodeling the whole place, everything is in chaos including the staff. I scheduled my appointment a week or two ahead of time. Driving after work from Coral Gables down Kendall to this location (especially with 5pm traffic) is a hassle already, but to show up and wait 15-20 minutes before a staff member to attend to me and say that all appointments have been canceled since 3pm because the Doctor ran off for an emergency? And not even call me to let me know?? Plus they didn't have the book with all the appointments for that day for some reason so they were very unorganized and clueless. I gave them my name and number and told them to call me as soon as possible to let me know when the doctor would come back to do more appointments. I waited 5 days. No calls. When I try calling, no one picks up. I gave up and ended up making an appointment elsewhere. Until they fix this place up with both the staff and the mess of the remodeling inside the store, I'm not coming back. read more

The experience was not good and I say this because going during COVID there was an employee in the back that was visibly sniffling and that is very off putting especially if you are dealing with patients and ESPECIALLY during this time. I understand the wait due to precautions. I do not however accept being completely forgotten about and skipped over until I finally get sick of waiting 30 min just to get fitted after my exam and have to complain and the girls in the front tell me no one told them I was waiting to be fitted. THEN I sure do not appreciate being lied to when I call about my glasses and told that someone reached out and I didn't answer. In response to the delay of the contact lenses trial shipment, they picked up a pair from a nearby For Eyes Optical location to provide me with. The contact lenses trials were great. After I used the trials and decided to order those, they unfortunately didn't have any extras for me to use while I waited for my contacts to come in. It was disappointing however, the very next day they called me to say that they had ordered two sets of trials from a nearby area so that I could use them while my order came in. This was a great move on their end. It showed that they wanted to pay more attention to me as a customer after having fumbled in the first place. I can say that the staff are friendly and that upon realizing they made a mistake, they stepped in to make sure it didn't happen again. They certainly improved the situation. read more

Dear Yelp Potential Customer Reader: I had a VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE at For Eyes with Optometrist Dr. Vasquez. I was very fearful I might be getting glaucoma -- a"sleeper disease" which one must catch BEFORE symptoms appear, or it can be too late to prevent partial blindness. I made an appointment with an excellent but expensive Ophthalmologist -- $450 just for the consultation!, glaucoma tests additional! -- and had to postpone. Because my father had glaucoma, I am at hereditary risk For Eyes Dr. Vasquez tested me for only $65 total -- testing both for eye pressure and a medical image of my optic nerves -- and the results were negative! For Eyes also checked me for cataracts -- none -- and updated my eyeglasses prescription, again all for a total price if $65! I can now afford to postpone the expensive visit to an ophthalmologist for several months for a more in depth verification of these highly reassuring professional results. My glasses broke and I found an old pair when I put them on I was missing a nose guard, showed up at the store like 10 minutes before they closed. The girls there were super nice and fixed my glasses in 5 min. I was asking questions about glasses because I want to buy a pair in case of emergencies, they were all helpful and answered all my questions. Always an excellent experience with Dr. Houghton. I have been going to him for almost 12 years now and every time I feel I am in the best hands possible. He has managed to keep my eyesight in great condition and in fact my number has even reduced slightly over the years. He is so practical and really acts in your best interest. One year I went to another eye specialist as I had moved away from his locations. That doctor prescribed me -1.75 when I had always been -1! Dr. Houghton corrected my prescription again and I am pleased to note all these years later I am still -1. A true professional and gentleman. His teams in each location are so friendly and professional and helpful. Overall, always a great experience. If you're looking for an eye specialist I highly recommend him, he has 3 locations that I know of. read more

I was absolutely blown away by my experience at this For Eyes location! Everyone is so kind, understanding, patient (I took like an hour deciding between like 5 glasses lol) and helpful. I was helped by Rachel who guided me throughout the whole process and was able to work with me to find something perfect that fit my needs! They have a super wide variety of glasses, lens, frames, you name it lol. I went with a pair by Burberry and was SHOCKED at how affordable they were!!!! The eye exam was quick and painless. Dr. Houghton is VASTLY educated and incredibly helpful as well. I told him I was a full time student and photographer and he was able to explain everting to me in great detail in regards to how similar the eye is to a camera lens. Y'all, he spoke to me in a way I could understand by relating it to something I am already familiar with. Instead of just telling me yes yes ok ok he took his time explaining to me WHY I was getting the prescription I was getting and HOW it would benefit me in the long term. It felt great to have a staff be honest about what best fit my needs and not push to make a sell. I felt really comfortable and am excited to say this my new go to office for all of my eye-ball needs! read more

The doctors are great, but the receptionist and front desk people are awful. I have called various times to the doctors office, and the receptionist says she will call me back, never takes my number and hangs up. I had my appointment mid December 15th, and it is January 30th and have not been correctly fitted for contacts. When I got a trial pair, they literally gave me the bag and said "do you know how to try them on? Great." And shoved me out the door before I could put them on. Unfortunately, For Eyes is only functional for customers who's needs are not great. read more

We have been waiting more than an hour to be seen by the doctor. This is very unacceptable especially when we had an actual appointment scheduled. Also, I've seen other opticals with better pricing for both the exams and the glasses. read more

I recently went in the store to see about getting some new glasses with my prescription. It's my first time using glasses so I have been just about everywhere. I can admit that I am a little bit picky. I've gone to about 1000000000000000000000000 stores all over the city and I can honestly say that the customer service at this store was the best. I showed up kinda late and the girls that helped me were still super helpful and nice. I tried just about everything in the store with no success but it was definitely not because of lack of effort. Even though I didn't happen to like any of the glasses frames they had available, I will for sure return just because of the way they treated me. Have been going here for my eyes check up for many years now. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Dr. S. Houghton is the best. Place is always busy, so I recommend you to make an appointment. Walkings are welcome,too. They are open seven days a week. The service is excellent and fast. You get your eyes exam and then you can get your glasses or contacts right there or elsewhere. It's very convenient to order your glasses there. They have a huge variety of frames of all prices. Once you order them they will be ready in a few days. read more
