I really debated on writing a review but my experience was so negative that I just had to say something. The price of an exam and contacts here is more than other places. And what they fail to tell you is that your doctors sees you through telehealth. They call it a "high tech" experience but it's literally just a super glitchy video call in the exam room with the doctor. The audio and video kept cutting out and it was very uncomfortable. The machine for the doctor to figure out my prescription had smudges on the glass and it made my exam really difficult. Even after having it cleaned it was still smudged as if someone's fingers had touched it. This caused my prescription to be very wrong. When I tried on my new contact lenses I could not even read text that was 10 feet away from me. I'll have to go and spend money again somewhere else. I will say that the staff that is actually in the store are very nice and accommodating. The young lady who helped me was very kind and patient with me through my frustration. She was very professional and did what she could to rectify the situation for me, although not much could have been done. I did feel very deceived because I would not have paid for a telehealth eye exam at all, but I didn't even know until after my eye pressure was taken and would have had to pay anyways so I felt tricked. I was frustrated to tears. I have been a contact lenses wearer for over 2 decades and I have never had an appointment that had so many complications or take as long as this one did read more

My eyeglass frame snapped and I needed an urgent replacement. Found Stanton. Easy to get appointment online. Arrived and was greeted warmly. Exam was virtual, but thorough and unrushed. I initially expected it would probably take 1-3 days to get my new glasses due to significant differences in each lens - but to hear that they would be ready in about 30 minutes was amazing! Great discount as well; FAR more affordable than I expected. Walking out with new glasses and totally satisfied! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! read more

Time for new eyeglasses after two years. I arrived at the Kendall location and for a moment I thought I was in Sedano's Supermarket; the salsa music was really loud and I understand we are a "tropical city" but not appropriate for this type of business (later on the change the music to something more appropriate). I was received by young lady at the front desk and quickly taken to the back after I completed a short document. Both the front desk person and the other young lady who started my exam lacked a welcoming smile and a warm greeting; as if they did not want to be there and at no time was I greeted by my first or last name, very dry customer service. The exam was quick, the store is spacious and clean and the bathroom was well maintained. I looked forward to picking up my new eyeglasses and hopefully management will read this honest review and better train the staff In friendly customer service. As it is, they did not make me feel as a valued customer and will probably will not return if they do not improve their customer service. On a side note, my other optometrist office has been remodeling and I did not want to wait another month as I needed my new eyewear soon. They, the other business, makes each customer feel valued and always greet with a big smile. There is always room for growth and improvement! read more

I visited asking if one lens in my current glasses could be changed to reflect my new prescription. They say that cant be done My left and right eye are vastly different prescriptions, it is not as if they would come as a pair. The replace them both he said would be $190. Ouch. They have an ad/promotion for two pair of progressive for $135. The small print says standard lenses. Well, mine are progressive, they have no special additions.. he did say mine were anti glare. But said my prescription was ineligible because one lens is higher. Their promotion does not say that, but told me mine was not standard. With no perimeters as to what 'standard' was, i had no reason to think me ineligible. Sounds kind if like a racket to me. They were pleasant and polite but makes no sense that an optical place cant make one lens. The one i needed was the lesser of the two prescription numbers and they seem to be able to have wide latitude on what is 'standard' or not with no set description if that in their promotional material Id not recommend them read more

I had a very good experience at Kendall's Stanton Optical. Good customer service. Their employees are very patient and kind. My eye exam was very thorough and the assistant was very patient and kind. The glasses were made in a very short time and to perfection. Excellent appointment reminder service. Thanks to Stanton Optical for taking such good care of me. Nelly Lugo De Vallin read more

What a disappointment, each visit I take time to get coffee for the staff. Have been coming here for the past 4-6 years, worse customer service that I've had to experience in my life. They don't accept our insurance but we rather pay out of pocket because we were confident they would get it right again. This time Liudmila took care of us. Again, outstanding customer service! The worst service ever , two weeks to get my contact lenses order . I got a text message from that my order was there so I desired to leave my job early. The lady tells me they are not there and that I should have called. But you sent me a text! She was a very rude lady. Don't go there everyone, they don't deserve any customers. read more

I'd never go here again. It's a complete bait and switch. Everyone was nice and polite when I walked in. I asked both techs working to make sure I was there for the $90 contact lens exam. They assured me that was it. After I got my prescription and wanted to pay and leave the tech who worked with me of course tried to sell me contacts, I let her know I would just need my prescription and that was it, I would be on my way. She then decided to let me know that the price had changed and it was actually $99. Now, I couldn't care less about the $9, what bothers me is that they changed the price of the promotion after I wouldn't agree to spend more money with them, I think that's wrong. Unethical. I agreed to pay the new price and asked the tech to charge my card. She then proceeded to tell me that the system was down and she would have to manually write down my card number and hold on to it until the system was back up so that she could charge it later. I told her I was uncomfortable with that and was there anything else I could do? Nope. No other option and I would not be allowed to leave without payment. Like... I wasn't trying to run out of the store or anything... I just don't feel comfortable with my information sitting out for anyone to see that way. I let her know I was not happy with my appointment and how my check out was handled and I left. I get home and look at my prescription and I noticed it has changed SIGNIFICANTLY from my last prescription. And apparently I have also developed astigmatism in one of my eyes. At no point in time did anyone go over the new prescription with me or explain anything from the pictures taken of my eyes, or any of the other tests which were done. I wasn't going to leave a yell review once I saw that I got a feedback email from the company. I figured they would probably have a better chance of seeing my review there than in Yelp, but once I finished my "one star" review, the page does not let me submit the form and move on with the process. The entire place was a joke. There was a man next to me who had been waiting on new frames for MONTHS with no notice from the company or the store and both techs kept telling him "I really don't know what the problem is sir." Well... figure it out and fix it for him... that's your job! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who actually wants a thorough exam, or anyone else at all. read more

Update: Olivia is still here and she's just as amazing! Thank you again! I can't rave enough about this place. The prices are ridiculously low. I am very happy I called around and didn't settle for Vision Works as usual. The exam is quick too. I only wait 10 minutes (without an appointment) and the whole exam took about 10 minutes as well. The doctor and staff were really nice and attentive. Olivia is amazing. Go to her. The place is organized and clean since it's new. I didn't look at the glass frames they had because I didn't need any, but it looked like they had a good variety, just like Vision Works. They also have contacts in stock and will provide you with samples of different brands if you ask. Will definitely return and recommend. read more

I was able to reschedule my appointment at a short notice. The Associate/Technician who worked with me was Mr. Santos. gave the store three stars because glasses are expensive so I expected then to come with a cleaning cloth and a case at least when you are spending over $400 go a pair of glasses when I asked if a case I was told no we don't have any for the glasses you bought she I looked I didn't even get a cleaning cloth. I must say the staff is very nice and knowledgeable it's not their store they just work there the store chain should be ashamed of themselves. Little things count! read more

Excellent attention. I feel very comfortable and clear all my doubts. I recommend it

Ok I bought a groupon for my daughter, (which I've done for myself in another optometrist) and when I go buy the glasses the salesman is curt and zero customer oriented. He insists on giving me $150 toward the glasses instead of the Groupon $200 toward glasses and blatantly lies about how that's not the deal when I can see the deal clearly stating $200 toward a pair of glasses + eye exam (which is not a full eye exam really). So I speak to manager who repeats the same song though much friendlier and finally ceding me the original deal I had purchased. I end up paying $150.00 for a pair of non designer frames with "special high index lenses". Was it a good deal? Not really and I will not return here again, only to pick up my glasses in TWO weeks. Not worth the aggravation really. Sorry I didn't just get a refund on the Groupon. read more

Beware! I visited the Alamo location today and they were NOT WEARING masks. When I inquired, I was told the mask mandate was lifted so they did not "have to". When I responded that the ma date is in fact not up until March 10, I was told, "The owner said we did not have to wear them." read more

Orange Park location nice people however, they tack on any charge they can. I went in for an eye exam for contacts girl told me $89 flat. I agreed and booked an appointment for that day. All I wanted was an updated prescription to buy contacts elsewhere. My appointment was at 11:05 am and they kept telling me that their systems were down. I was being as patient as I possibly could be didn't get back into the eye exam room until around 1:45 pm. Did the fitting for contacts and then the sales manager told me originally at check out $259.60. I explained to her that the young lady told me $89 flat. So she "discounted" some things and then told me my total was now $185.88. What they don't tell you is that the $89 is for the eye exam, cheap glasses which I didn't need, and one trial pair of contacts. Not to mention you also have to wait 30 days for a refund. read more

Much like another costumer's experience they refused to refund us after we were unsatisfied by their customer service. My husband ordered glasses which he was never notified when they arrived. Even though the brochure claims that they will refund with if you aren't satisfied with the service the assistant manager and manager both refused to give us a refund. Life got in the way and we were unable to deal with it sooner but God forbid they were understanding or empathetic. This does no value their costumers. Take your business somewhere else! read more

I walked in asking politely about their 2 for $60 deal and was met with someone with an extremely rude attitude. I felt bad and offered to just use my old prescription instead of have an exam done for their convenience as I was just in dire need of new glasses after mine broke. I was told that it would be $140 because of my high prescription which wasn't a problem but was practically yelled at by the representative even though I was not rude whatsoever. I ended up leaving mid discussion because of how rude she was. Honestly such a bad experience and this is not how you're supposed to treat people in general. Do not come here. read more

First: Even though I called the local store's phone number, it was answered by a central remote number but they did not tell me that. answering number. Made an appointment with My Eyelab for eye exam and glasses. The lady started doing the exam. She did not tell me that she is only an assistant. I figured that she is not optometrist and I asked her. Then she told me "It is a remote exam". I said "I don't want that. I want a doctor to do it". Then she said "doctor is in this office only one day a week on X day". I was given an appointment for that day. I picked out the frames and ordered the two pairs of glasses. Two weeks later they called me said, "one of the frames you picked is no longer available. Pick another one". Few weeks later, one pair was ready but not made right. This was sent to be remade. Second one was not ready. Since then I have called them several times and now 3 months later it is still not ready. Even in Covid times, 3 months is just too long. Only plus for them is the price. but don't be fooled. I will start by saying the techs at this location where outstanding and very attentive. Asides from this, I would never return to this location. My daughter had a recent eye exam. After the exam was complete a recommendation to see an ophthalmologist was made because the optometrist there apparently could not get my daughters vision to better that 20/60 on one eye. After our recent appointment with an actual MD in ophthalmology he stated that the prescriptions from my eye lab were completely wrong. I feel cheated that not only did this optometrist at this location do the visit virtual via zoom but my daughter's eyes were not even dilated (a standard of practice ) during the exam. I work hard for my money and this place is a ripoff, and the "doctor" (Jason Mann, O.D.) at this location is a joke. Who does vision exams via zoom. Please note if they don't dilate your pupils during an exam they are wasting your time and money. They don't even care that the prescription was totally wrong. Citing you signed a waiver and this is how they treat customers. Last time at a MY EYE LAB. read more

I wish I could say better things about this store. First off, my appointment was for 11am . After I signed in at 10:50 am , I wasn't called in for my exam till almost 12:45pm . It doesn't matter if you have an appointment here . They go by the sign in sheet. So , more than not, the store is always busy with people so there will be a very long wait. There is only one girl working the store along with the medical technician who is performing the exams. The girl who attends the store (although I know she means well and is apologetic) is running around like a mad woman helping one customer at a time. So even if you just need to pick up your order, you still have to sign in & wait till it is your turn. My whole appointment was 3.5 hours!!! This is a little much. I ended up leaving with an even bigger headache than when I first arrived. My suggestion to management is to hire more staff, at least one other person to attend to the customers. Not everyone goes in for the same reasons so your wait should be according to what your purpose is. read more

There's this Spanish phrase that goes: "lo barato te sale caro." Which means, the cheap ends up being expensive. I came here because my dog chewed up my glasses and I seriously can't drive without any (shh don't tell). For $60, I think I don't even remember, I got my eyes checked and two pairs of glasses. The glasses aren't cute but I figured I would just get two cheap glasses I can keep in my house and one in my car while my nice ones can be in my purse - or lost which is more often. But it's been two weeks and three days and I still haven't heard from them. I call and they always have an excuse with something. The staff is friendly, I'll give them that. But seriously? I had to call them because they don't even bother giving you their excuses first. I would've gone somewhere else. read more

Putting 1 star because I cannot put none! Got there at 4.30 for my 05.00pm appointment, got told that there is about 1 hour wait... Fair enough, I walked around and was back on my seat at 05.30pm... 06.00 pm, nothing... They offered to make me pick my frames and prepare my file, made me pay ( btw their $69.00 for 2 pairs offer is fake, even they admit that those frames/lenses are poor quality ) and then the wait continues... Every 10-15 minutes, someone was coming to tell next "you're next"! Finally,at 07.00pm, I asked for a refund and left the place... Not a word from the "manager", only apologies from MIguel who was the nicer here... Save your money and your time, go somewhere else!!!!! read more

Do not go here. As soon as I did my exam, they put the wrong temp glasses in my face and I explained that I couldn't see from one eye. The tech said "don't worry in a week or so it'll get better. Afterwards, when I went to get my trial contact lens, they gave me a different prescription because they didn't have the ones I needed... first they gave me something higher and then they gave me something lower until they decided to give me a different brand on one eye. This was ridiculous. My prescription was incorrect on paper and I explained I wanted it changed. They also told me I would get my lens a few days after and I didn't get them until a month after. My paper prescription wasn't changed until a month after as well. The sales rep and team is very nice but they do not do their job correctly. I was informed it would take 2 weeks max to get my glasses as they had to be shipped due to the crisis and possible delays in shipping - totally understandable and the same thing they told my friend. I was concerned after the update from my friend's glasses he finally got so I decided to follow up on my order. (Over 2 weeks later) I called in and the manager, Olivia, looked into my order and returned my call to advise me that "the frame I chose broke at the manufacturer, sending a broken pair is unacceptable so they're getting a new frame which may take another week or so." I simply asked if it was possible to refund just the frame and take the prescription somewhere else as I need them for work esp with the computer. Her attitude is the reason for this review.
