I'm going to keep coming back here. ENVIRONMENT: it's a small store located in the back of the mall. It's clean and functional. PRODUCTS: A small but great selection. The small selection is actually better because the store only carries current styles. PRICE: I cannot compare prices because this is the first time in 10 years I bought glasses. Military have always provided me with glasses. SERVICE: this is the reason why I will always come back. I went to lens crafters first and they barely talked to me. My experience at Optical World was like a roller coaster (ups and downs) but the selection and service I got from one of the employees kept me from rating a single star. They have my favorite brands there, i.e. Tag Heuer, Mont Blanc, Cartier, Prada, Porsche Design, etc. and an endless selection. I'm very picky and indecisive (bad combination) but the staff was very patient in helping me select the perfect eyeglasses and Rx sunglasses. The store manager and Oscar worked really hard to get me the best deal by combining my insurance (VSP) with in-store promotions. I ended up choosing rimless Tag Heuer eyeglasses and Prada sunglasses. Here is where things went sour: I picked up the sunglasses but they were the wrong shade so they had to take them back. One week later, I come to pick them up and one lens is a full shade darker than the other lens! So, that was another wasted trip. While I wait for those, I come to pick up my glasses, try them on, but something doesn't feel feel right. It turns out, they were not the right size lenses. I asked for 50mm wide lenses but received 54mm wide lenses. Because these had to be made in a special offsite lab, that was another two weeks lost. Finally, one month later, I receive my sunglasses and eyeglasses and they come out perfect. What upset me was I didn't get an apology or any type of compensation for wasting my time. Even something as cheap as a lens cleaner would have been a nice gesture. read more

My experience with these people was terrible. They made me wait over two hours to complete my exam, while they saw walk-ins instead of attending to me even though I had an appointment. I asked them to call me back to schedule an appointment twice, no one ever called me back. They took my payment and would not give me my prescription; I had to get my insurance involved. I had to find a new doctor and pay the fee again (it was worth it). They seem to specialize in high end customers mostly foreigners who come to Dadeland Mall to shop and spend a lot of money. They are not suited for a long term relationship with local patients. Also their equipment is dated, they apparently don't keep up with new tech. Avoid this place... read more

The care of near-sightedness is in the capable hands of Dr. Albert Lagomarsini and has been for many years. Dr. Lagomarsini's practice is located at Optical World in the Dadeland Mall. Although there are many eyecare options much closer to where I live, I continue to see Dr. Lagomarsini, because he is a superb optometrist. He is methodical, thoughtful and thorough. He is the epitome of what one seeks in the person in whom one entrusts one's sight. He asks questions and makes any recommendations he feels are necessary. I have complete confidence in him. Last week, I made my annual trip to Dr. Lagomarsini. Optical World does a brilliant job of reminding its patients to make an appointment as the one-year mark approaches. In addition to emailing and texting, they also call and leave voicemails. If I'm not on the ball about my eyesight, they surely are! The staff at Optical World are terrific - friendly, helpful and efficient. I've never had to wait - I've always been seen at my appointed time and everything has run smoothly and seamlessly. Optical world didnt even BOTHER to fit my glasses to my face & omitted a BUNCH of tests to my eyes that would've determined I had DRY EYES. I brought a pair of glasses and the prescription to the store. When I got the lenses I simply could not see - totally wrong! They said it was that the prescription was wrong and that if I paid for another consultation at the store, they would re do my lenses "for free". I ended up paying extra for the consultation which confirmed the first prescription, they said they would then re do the lenses and a week later they gave me obviously the same pair of lenses and refusing to give me the "old lenses" they've previously made! now I have a 600 dollar bill and a pair of glasses to the trash. Unbelievable, so disrespectful! dont waist your time or money on this place! read more

The doctor took the time to explain everything and was so patient and nice to my baby girl who asked some questions regarding the equipment used to check my vision. This shop is labeled by my insurance as a Premier practice, absolutely NOT so, actually all the opposite. Poor customer service and absolutely NO regard for the customer's time. One would think that after several text reminders and calls about next appointment, one's contact lenses and frames would be ready. Not only not ready, but zero explanation as to why noone bothered to call me to postpone my appointment. A total 'whatever' attitude from the staff. It's deceiving that they are inside Dadeland Mall. Amazing service both Eye And Sales. I've been coming since I I was a teenage with my mom and in my 30's I still come. Everyone it so great and I will never go anywhere else. Bought my wife Prescription sunglasses as a gift and a girl there was so helpful in helping me pick out the right style in the right price for my budget I also picked up my contacts and she help me with saving in the form of a rebate which we did before I even left the store. Walked into this optic because I saw they had Chanel sunglasses, I had been looking to replaced mine that got lost. I fell for a Tom Ford sunglasses, they had a great sale going on, so it was perfect. I usually buy at Sunglass Hut, so I remembered to asked about the warranty, the girl that took care of me advised to save the receipt for a whole year in case of defects ... understood. NOBODY EVER EXPLAINED TO ME I HAD 7 DAYS TO RETURN MY ITEM. Of course it says it on the receipt in small prints.... I bought the sunglasses 2/15 and yesterday 2/29 went to returned them as I found them super heavy... I do not use sunglasses everyday. A week is not enough time try a pair of sunglasses. I was able to find another pair that I'm not in love with, but they are not as heavy. The guy that did the return exchange was nice and professional but said from the beginning ABSOLUTELY NO RETURNS... I FEEL ROBBED AND TAKEN ADVANTAGE FROM. $400 for a pair of glasses I DO NOT LOVE. The staff ifs very kind and professional. Never did I feel pressured to buy. The doctor was thorough and explained everything in detail for me. He's funny too. My insurance covered a lot but I didn't find the full fees to be expensive. I love their selection in frames. They have ALL the latest looks and designers. They also have different price points and work with your insurance to get the best deal. I've been to other places but they don't carry the designers I like. Optical world carries them all. In addition, they're right next to a Nordstrom. I've purchased glasses at Nordstrom and taken them to Optical world to add my prescription. Not all glasses can have prescription added, so I make sure to bring them in first. But all the glasses from their store can get your prescription added. It's also next the ebar so I was able to sip coffee and grab a snack while I waited for my pupils to dialate. read more

My husband had a problem with his eye glasses during warranty period. After complaining to the manager that they were defective, the manager got upset but finally he was able to solve the problem and replaced the glasses. Now he put us in a black list!!!! I went to get a new pair of glasses and the employee advised me that If I want to buy there, I have to speak to the manager. It seems that he believes that their glasses are free and the manager chooses with whom to do business!!!! I will take my business somewhere else. Be aware that if you complain about defective glasses during warranty, you will find resistance to help you and that you will be in a black list. Worst customer service! read more

I had an incredible experience here, start to finish. I made an appointment and was running slightly late (Miami traffic). I called in to ask if they would need to reschedule me and was given a leeway of 5 to 10 minutes. Not recommended, but considering the circumstances. I got to the store and was greeted by Rosa, whose smile beamed as she said, "You made it!". I apologized for being late (5 minutes) and she wasted no time to prep me for the exam. I sat with the Doctor, who is incredibly friendly and thorough. I had my exam and have never felt so visually fine tuned. We discussed lens wear and options, this man is top notch. He suggested I not rush into buying contacts until I had a chance to try the new lenses and prescriptions. I feel this is relevant as other reviews claim them to just "want to sell". Truthfully, I could have been pushed to buy a lot more. I was now back with Rosa as she was processing my prescription. I have a hard time with glasses as I have a wide head. Rosa stepped from the back of the desk and spent more than an ample amount of time with me. Showing me options, adjusting and offering solutions. She really went out of her way to make me feel that she was focused on my requests. I asked her for her advice, and truly felt satisfied with what I selected. To be honest, I have gone to other vendors in the past. This is my second time with this Optical World location, and as a Miami local in the customer service industry, my experience has always been top notch. Walked in to see if they can tighten a screw in my glasses. I have european frames. My glasses also had another issue with one of the folding pieces were kinda loose. what do I get in return broken glasses. The guy bent the titanium in my glasses to "adjust" them, a day later the titanium snapped on my frames. Careless workers they tightened the loose screw but could have just come back to me and said hey we cant fix the other part. but no just lost $500 glasses that are not repairable. I would never buy anything from this store or ever take anything there for repair. this is not a high end store this is lowest of the low. i would never trust buying high end frames for them to just break them read more

The doctor is amazing!!!! I went for an eye exam and felt wonderful about the entire process. Everyone was kind and friendly from the start. The doctor made us feel at home and was very friendly, its rare to find a doctor that cares and has a sense of humor. He actually explained everything including why certain glasses/contacts are fit a certain way. I have been to many eye doctors and this one is hands down the BEST I have ever been too. Optical World in Aventura Mall WILL NOT MATCH PRICES. That caused me to realize they were overpriced. I researched it ... They are double what the manufacturer recommends we should pay and they want you to pay it because they think you have no options. This is why much bigger companies than Optical World are not around anymore. It's obviously being run by outdated thinking. Their greed will see them go by the wayside very soon. Hey Optical World, it not sell for a high profit vs sell for a lower profit, it's sell for the lower profit or go out of business. You call your customers ignorant, illiterate fools by thinking they are too stupid to go on-line and price items directly from the manufactures. Ray-Ban, Italia Independent, Etc, suggest we NOT PAY MORE THAN THEIR FULL RETAIL PRICE AND YOU ARE GOUGING YOUR CUSTOMERS. You refuse to match them? THE MANUFACTURER SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE? Really? You will have to match not only that but advertised Internet pricing or you will lose your business. I tried to defend you against nightmare customer service stories from colleagues and friends but I'm now joining those who know. Optical World is not for the customer. I had an appt on Saturday, 9/15/12 and was awaiting to be attended. They told to be wait and I said ok. I decided to browse the glasses they had on display and someone came to me and ask if I was being help and I said not yet, was told to wait. She asked if I am new customer and I said yes and gave me clipboard to fill out information. While I was filling out paper, I was aked if I am here for eye exam for glasses or contacts. I said for both and then I will make a decision if I choose contacts. Right away the told me that I had a fitting fee and I asked what is the cost and they said my insurance only covers 15% off the fitting fee. I told them that I have the information of my beneftis with me and they said that the fitting fee is in addition to the cost of contacts. This is not true my plan with VSP offers a $150.00 allowance that can be used for contact lens exam or contacts. However, I cannot used both of these allowances for both contact & glasses and frames. They didn't allow me to show them my information and see if they can verify their information against my beneftis that I had printed from my plan with VSP. The staff at the Dadeland locations are terrible. They definitely need to learn good customer service skills in handling customer inquiries and offer options based on their coverage. read more

If the Dadeland store clerks were as good, nice and friendly as the Dr. was I would have gladly given them 5 stars. On my first call I immediately got shut down and told there were no appointments for today. Weirdly I tried a different approach 10 minutes later and got an appointment! Clerks seemed bored and not willing to help, annoyed to say the least, very unusual for a job that requires so much customer service! They seemed to brighten up when you were paying full price and not using insurance to buy stuff!!!!! Lets just say I saw two completely sides to the service which is unacceptable. Dr on the other hand was great! super friendly, accommodating and thorough. I wish they had more people like him there, that would certainly make me come back!
