Silly me--I recently ventured over to Eyes on Brickell without checking their office hours. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As I approached and realized they were closed, a man who later introduced himself as Dr. Copty came to the door and let me know the office was not open. Even so, he still asked whether he could help me[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Apparently, he had stopped by briefly to fix something in the office, so our timing was truly serendipitous. He welcomed me inside, despite the office being closed, answered all of my questions, and helped me resolve a quick contact lens issue. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dr. Copty was incredibly warm and welcoming and went out of his way to assist me on his day off.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The interaction and overall customer experience completely blew me away. I'm extremely grateful for his kindness, professionalism, and expertise. This was my first visit to Eyes on Brickell, but they now have a customer for life. Eyes on Brickell has gotten Yelp to removed my review multiple times for not providing enough details. At their request, I am adding more details: The customer experience: they forced me to take tests that I did not need. I don't have the names of the machines they made me use but they charged me for extra diagnostic work on testing that wasn't required and ended up taking much longer than anticipated. Budget extra time for your visit in case it runs longer than expected. They also made me run all the tests twice because they said they made an error the first time (wouldn't tell me what went wrong the first time) Results: they gave me an RX that was off by 100% from what my NYC doctor prescribed. I was completely unable to see. The doctor wrote me a prescription that left me blind. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was very frustrating and time consuming to have to get a second opinion. It was difficult to get my insurance to pay for a second doctor visit and Eyes on Brickell refused to consider the possibility that my eyes hadn't improved 2x in just 12 months![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They were quite arrogant in the way that they refused to listen to the concerns of their patient.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Price: they lied to me on their "price guarantee" they told me not to shop their offer because I couldn't find a better price. Ofc, I shopped the offer after seeing how bad their service was. I found an offer about 30% cheaper. I then asked them to match it to see if they were telling the truth or just trying to convince me not to look for myself. They declined to match the offer. The price guarantee is a sham to discourage price shopping. They monetize by over-charging on retail glasses / contacts. See for yourself if their price is the best no matter what they tell you! I found the same product for 30% less! I hope that I have provided enough detail so that Yelp doesn't remove my post yet again when Eyes on Brickell inevitably asks them to. I partly went here because the yelp reviews were so good. I now know, from experience, that the reviews are so good because they have figured out how to get Yelp to remove all the bad reviews. As a result, while it appears they only have good reviews, that is because reviews, such as mine, have been taken down by the merchant. read more

This place has amazing reviews and is 2 miles from my house -which sounded amazing so I was so happy to book an appointment to get contacts. I went on their website, and booked something for this week. I take time off of work. Drive there. And once I am there - the office is closed Bc of the AC!!!!! Look - if you are going to close your office, fine. But a) don't allow people to book appointments that day b) if they book an appointment, call and notify the patient you will not be open c) don't send me a REMINDER email the day before if you won't even be there d) don't send me a feedback email to review you on yelp (which I had forgotten to do but your email kindly reminded me). Too bad I didn't get to see the doctor as he has really good reviews and I was looking forward to it. I came to this place based on the excellent reviews on Yelp and the offer to pay $100.00 toward a $150.00 value. I called to make the appointment and spoke to Jessica, I informed her that I was intending on using the voucher toward my eye examination. She told me the exam would cost $129.00 and I would only be responsible for paying $100.00. Upon arrival, it was a bit confusing to see an apartment building but I found my way through security and parked. The optic was located on the bottom floor and the staff was pleasant. Dr. Antione Copty was very informative and friendly, however at the conclusion of the eye exam I questioned him not dilating my eyes. He told me dilation had nothing to do with the eye prescription and it would be done when I returned to pick up my glasses. Feeling uneasy about this, I urged him to conduct the dilation and he did. I went out to the waiting area to pay for the exam and was charged $129.00, I told them about the voucher while the doctor was listening in the other room, and he came out to state that the voucher was only valid toward a new pair of glasses. I emphasized the fact that I called in and spoke to the receptionist when I made my appointment and that I was told it would only be $100.00. They remained adamant about the voucher toward a new pair of glasses and refused to honor the previously discussed price or the voucher. While waiting, there was a lot of pressure on purchasing a pair of glasses with a minimum of +1.00 which I can purchase at Walgreens for $20.00. They suggested the Walgreen's reading glasses wouldn't be good enough and persisted with showing me theirs. After the dilation exam, the doctor reported seeing a scar in my left eye and gave me a precise referral to an Ophthalmologist. The very next day, I scheduled an appointment through my PCP. Feeling a bit skeptical, I paid for another eye examination recommended by my father. To my dismay, the scar the Dr. saw in my left eye turned out to be a simple "eye floater" possibly there since birth. To top that off, the +1.00 prescription given, needless to say was also an inaccurate diagnosis; turns out I don't need to see a specialist and I don't need glasses either. Be very cautious of this optical, it seems like they are in the business of selling expensive glasses even if you don't need them. It seemed like I was buying a car, when I wouldn't agree with the price, they began to negotiate. You may be wondering why they have so many great reviews... They are buying Yelp reviews, they offer you a 20% discount in exchange for a Yelp review. read more

Horrible service. They have several names. You buy the product online first. Then they disclose the inflated extra fees for their telemedicine appointment. If you then decide you prefer to get it from your local doctor instead, they still keep your money and do not refund what you paid. I don't know of any pharmacies or optical place anywhere that will sell you the prescription first, without having the script. No refunds. This place is a scam. The lazy and inept staff first could not find my appointment. I provided my insurance through their booking site. When I called to confirm, they could not find my appointment. I enter the shop and the staff was too busy talking personal foolishness to engage me or other customers coming in. Midway through my appointment they say they can't find my insurance. I told them their site said they ran the insurance prior to the appointment. And provided my insurance again. They then told me it would be ok to follow up with my carrier and call back and they would charge my insurance. I did just that and they played dumb. Refused to refund the unauthorized charge to the card that I was made to give when scheduling the appointment online. They refused to let me speak to the doctor or practice manager as they kept bouncing me around the office saying lies to cover up their errors. The exam was just a rush job to get you to buy ugly tacky glasses. I have no confidence that they even looked at the health of my eye. Do not go to this place. They are only interested in covering their own ineptitude and getting money by scamming because they know no one is making this place their regular spot for eyecare. read more

First of all, this place is in the apartment building and there are no signs neither on the street nor inside. I spent 10 minutes running around the building and asking people how to find the opticians office. I came here for my eye exam and initially was viewed by one of the associates who was nice. Then the doctor came and made a terrible joke asking me if I need a walking stick or a guide dog for today. Not a friendly joke for an eye doctor, isn't it? I found it very rude and inappropriate. Then he said my brand of contacts is very bad, he would never prescribe me those and made a couple unapologetic comments about my contacts brand I've been using for over 3 years. He lost his interest in me after I told him I won't be buying any lenses from them. He said my vision worsen since last year. Just because of his attitude I doubt his expertise and definitely will be getting a second opinion. In the end he looked at my old prescription from another doctor and said: "Huh, your previous doctor is from Brooklyn, they don't do anything good there". How rude and judgmental! In the very beginning they told me my exam would cost $190 (which is already above average price, but I needed to take the exam asap so I agreed). They charged me $40 more because "the picture of the back of your eyes is at the additional price". I never asked them to perform such imaging and they didn't tell me it would be an extra cost before performing it. What a rude, inappropriate, greedy and narcissistic doctor! This place is a scam. I called in advanced before making an appointment and asked the manager Estrella if they take my vision insurance. She said they "do". I make an appointment, I confirmed ONCE again if they take my insurance they say they do. At the office the appt they make me sign up for a credit care because my lens we're going to be pricey and that my "insurance won't cover nearly half of the final invoice", I told them sure but FIRST Bill my insurance before anything and then I'll paid the remaining balance. I leave my first and ONLY appointment and I get a notification says the credit card I applied for with them (Care credit) an invoice was paid from the credit I was approved for. They did NOT warned me about charging the credit card and I had specifically told them to charge my insurance first. This place is a scam and just want all their patients to apply for this credit card and run the invoices directly to that credit so they can avoid billing insurances and going thru the longer process. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE INSURANCE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET BILLED. read more

Isn't it interesting how you changed the way to explain prices so it looks better on you even though it's not? Well: 1) when you do price match companies offer up to 30 days after purchase. Minimum I've seen is 7 days after - I hadn't even gone to pick them up by then on top of everything. 2) as you can see on my uploaded images, Walmart is in network, so no, I wouldn't be paying more as you mentioned. 3) isn't it funny how you changed numbers around and didn't put any total to "try to make it look" like yours is better when it's not? Don't worry, I have an image of your previous post too. 4) Just to have even more arguments against what you have been telling that "your prices are best in the market" and your apparent issues are with online retailers, I called Visionworks, and they do offer the lenses at $69.99 (your apparent price match without insurance) but guess what, they offer that price and I can use my insurance, still, way cheaper than you. To mention it again, I'm just asking for what's fair. At this point seriously I see you're no close to try to solve the issue. And I still will recommend people to not get contacts at your store for the reasons previously mentioned. Having said that, I hope to receive my $32 refund of my insurance benefits without a problem. It's a little tricky to navigate to the location (ask the guard at the gate where to walk to) but well worth the visit. During the wait for my appointment the assistants signed me in and helped me immediately look for frames, as I came late in the evening (another reason why I came here- late appointment slots!). The eye doctor was friendly and easygoing, just like the assistants. They steered me to economically cheaper glasses and only helped me look at pricier options when I said it was in my budget with my insurance. I still selected some cheaper frames. The experience was great. They even cleaned and tightened my current frames to continue using while my new glasses are ordered. If I hadn't ordered less magnifying lenses (so I don't look like I have buggy eyes with my prescription), I could have had 24 hour turnover. Some frames they can even do within the half hour, but it was late and I didn't want to trouble them even if I had chosen the cheaper lens option. The trolley and bus also have a stop near this office. Worth a visit and I plan on returning. read more
