I went in this morning for my first visit with Dr. Cepero and let me say it was great. The Dr is VERY personable and easy to talk to. He's not just going thru the motions but he really wants to make sure all of your needs are met. The eye exam took quite a while (just under an hour and a half) but I actually was happy about that because he took his time with everything and wasn't rushed. He was incredibly thorough. I would happily recommend him to anyone. It's a family business but it's top notch when it comes to comfort, quality and professionalism. Three years ago, I decided yo go to my first official eye doctor & chose Cepero for their ratings & location. I remember the Dr. being very nice & at the time, my vision did not need any correction so that was that. Fast forward to last week when I had been noticing a few disconcerting issues so I booked a new appointment. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted warmly by the receptionist ( I later found out it was his lovely mother) & can't help but look around at their array of designer & not-so-designer, yet economical frames. Once I went in to see the Dr, he immediately made me feel at ease & somehow made the eye exams fun! He answered all my questions & I felt completely comfortable with my diagnosis: I 'm farsighted & need reading glasses! Dr. Cepero is fantastic! I took my daughter, 6 years old, for an eye exam. He was so patient with her and helped make her feel comfortable. He has a great sense of humor to work with kids and is very kind. (He answered every silly question my daughter had with so much patience and humor.) I also got my eyes checked. I really appreciated that he was friendly and easy-going. He made the whole thing very comfortable. My previous eye doctor was very pushy and a know-it-all. Dr. Cepero was the opposite of this. Dr. Cepero is the most incompetent eye doctor I have ever encountered. His license should be revoked. I visited him for an eye exam in which I got a contact lens prescription and glasses prescription. I recently purchased glasses using the eyeglass prescription and after I received the glasses, I realized that there was something wrong with the prescription. I then compared it to my eye glass prescriptions over the last 5 years prior and realized that he had given me the wrong prescription. When I called to inform him of the mistake and request that he fix the prescription, he told me he would need to charge me for a new eye exam because it had been more than 3 months even though the prescription was valid for 2 years and even though he mistakenly gave me the wrong prescription. He then told me it was my fault he gave me the wrong prescription because I never gave him my other doctor's prior eye glass prescription (which he never requested). It quickly became apparent that this was not just a one time mistake but a serious competency issue. He has no idea what he is doing and he lacks the ability to properly conduct a basic eye exam. To make matters worse, he was extremely rude, yelling at me, and would not let me speak without interrupting telling me he did not want to hear what I had to say. I will be reporting him to the licensing board and BBB but highly recommend everyone avoid this business. read more

All I can say is thank goodness for Dr. Cepero at the Cepero Eyecare Center. This past Tuesday I literally spent the day in great discomfort and messing with my contacts several times throughout the day. When I awoke Wednesday morning, my eye was crusted shut. The only thing I could think of was damn, I have pink eye. I have been wearing eye glasses and contacts for a very long time and had NEVER seen a different optometrist besides Dr. Mazer in Weston. However, being very far from Weston I had to find a nearby optometrist and quick. I called several in the area and was told I would be a) charged a large amount of money for a last minute "medical" emergency or told they had no available appointments for weeks. My wife called Cepero and was able to get me in for an 11:30 appointment that day. We called our insurance company and were assured that Cepero was in network and covered by our plan. This is something these days which could lead to costly mistakes for seeing out-of-network doctors. Anyway, when we arrived at 11:30 we were informed that Cepero was not in network we were literally about to leave when Cepero offered to see us and figure it out with the insurance company as they are in network but just not for "medical" emergencies. Dr. Cepero was incredibly kind, knowledgeable and caring. He quickly diagnosed me with a Corneal Ulcer (ouch!) and provided me a prescription for eye drops. We then scheduled a follow-up appointment for Saturday which I was still worried about the insurance situation so I canceled the appointment. Instead, Dr. Cepero made sure I returned and not to worry about the insurance. I'm so glad I found Dr. Cepero as he truly cares about the well-being of his patients. This will be my new optometrist and I highly recommend anyone looking for an optometrist to look no further than Dr. Cepero. read more

I picked Cepero Eyecare quite randomly. He was listed as in-network for our VSP insurance, they have parking, and wasn't too far from us--so I went in with no recs or reviews to fall upon. My son's teacher suggested we have his eyes checked and because he's so young it was important that the doc would be good with kids and have experience working with young elem school kids. I just crossed my fingers. Dr. Cepero is excellent. He is personable and extremely competent. He was amazing with my son and made him feel at ease and diagnosed exactly what we thought he might have--something that runs in the family. He explained everything clearly and didn't dumb anything down. I like thorough, smart, and patient doctors. His office is small but clean. It's an established family business and he continues the business after his father. The place just oozes good vibes. Because it's a family run business, I think he can take the time to go over everything in detail instead of rushing to get to the next patient as in other places that pack in appointments, valuing profit over care. read more

There's a reason Dr. Cepero has five stars! I have had very irritated eyes for about five months. Every time i put in contacts, my eyes get red and my cornea was extremely inflamed. I had been two several different doctors and wasted tons of money on doctors who's suggestions seemed careless. I decided to search top rated doctors and read several reviews when i finally found this doctor. He genuinely cares about his clients and is not going to overcharge you. His treatment was extremely precise and he told me to call after a couple of days to check in with him before the follow-up. I can REALLY appreciate this type of customer service. He's straight forward with his recommendations and whether he thjnks certain products are worth spending the extra money on or not (when it comes to glasses). I've been here twice for an eye exam and even brought him my old glasses prescription to test out because my eyes were bothering me and again he was spot on with all his recommendations. I switched to contacts and previously had a horrible experience with them, they felt bothersome to my eyes, and I couldn't get them in very easily but the pair he picked out I barely noticed them in and his staff member really helped me learn how to put them in and take them out and now it's a breeze. I just came back from their establishment. The frame I chose was faulty. They temporarily fixed it, while ordering a new frame. They just replaced it. All of this at no further expense to me. Yes, you could expect that from everyone, but would you get that type of correct behavior everywhere? I came to them three years ago, after moving to the Miami area, as a result of searching for a reputable place. I saw the strong consumer appreciation ratings and chose them. Very glad I did. I never particularly enjoyed going to the eye Doctor. My astigmatism is pretty bad and an eye appointment usually just means that once a year I'm just told I can't achieve 20/20 with contacts. After 64 years on this earth and receiving my first pair of glasses at 4 years old I've been through my share of eye exams and the service and knowledge of Dr. Cepero is at the top. He is very adept at his profession and skilled in making sure you understand exactly how your eyes perform at different tasks and why certain glasses and prescriptions will work better in different situations. Small location, long term history in the neighborhood. I recently changed insurance and was a little scared to go to a new doctor. Doctor Cepero explained everything in detail. The place is small, but seems to be very equipped. I couldn't find a pair of frames for my taste, but either way I prefer contacts. The insurance covered a portion and the doctor gave me a discount to change the lenses of my glasses. So far, so good. We'll see as the years go by. read more
