I can only get new glasses every two years and this was one of the places that accepts my insurance. I go in early June and start looking around and this lady named Marcy immediately helps me. She grabs glasses, and sits me down. Immediately, I felt that this woman knows what she's talking about. I told her I don't want progressive lenses because I end up using another pair. Marcy tells me that my glasses were measured incorrectly. She tells me to trust her and that I will see. So, I wait, and then she looks up my insurance, and I can't get the glasses until mid-July (2 years wait), so I told her I would come back in August. It is now August, and I come in the morning, and Marcy is not there. I tell the boss lady - Aleida - that I will be back at 5:00 pm. I particularly wanted Marcy because I wanted the best. I arrive at 5:00 pm and Marcy is not there, but "somewhere else". So, I wait. It is now 45 minutes, and Aleida can sense I am getting angry and frustrated.Another lady Gisela comes over, and immediately says she will look for glasses while I wait for Marcy. She grabs a couple, Aleida takes some measurement, and starts punching info into the computer, and then Marcy walks in - 1 hour and 5 minutes later! Marcy apologizes and looks at the glasses that we have been working with. (I don't remember and she does not remember what frame she chose back in June), but she said the one we (Gisela/Aleida) picked were fine. Then she looks at the other glasses on the table - casually picks up one - and says "try this one". Immediately the reaction on her face said that that one was much better. (Their reaction was like I suddenly turned into some handsome telenovela star! LOL - well...I would like to think that!) I asked Aleida who was across the floor, and asked "Glasses #1 or #2?" She says "#2" - the one that Marcy just picked up. The glasses are more expensive (RayBan), and would cost me $80 more (we are now in the $400!). Then Marcy says "It's worth it". My eye sight is so bad, that I can't make a decision when I look in the mirror because I can't see! So, I have to trust others. I said "ok"! Let's go for it. Marcy immediately starts measuring and I have to say - in the years I have had progressive lens, NO ONE - has ever taken the time to measure where my eyes are correctly. She asks me to take the glasses off and then on. She measures again and tells me to relax, etc. I tell you - she knows what she is doing. I have been to so many doctor's offices, and have had 3 glasses with progressive lenses. Marcy says to trust her, so I wait a week for the glasses. It has been 3 days now since I have had my glasses, and I can't believe it! I ALWAYS have them on! When I work at my desk and look at the computer, I no longer have to change my glasses to see the computer. I had 3 pairs of those glasses - one for work, one for home, and one for backup. I really cannot believe it. I no longer take off my glasses to read my iphone, or the computer BUT my physical memory of looking OVER my glasses is still there, and I catch myself doing it, when I don't have to do it. I just look down and can still see my phone. At work, I caught one of my fellow workers looking OVER his glasses to read his phone. I felt like saying - GO TO MARCY at FOR EYES - West Kendall! I am just happy that I no longer have to change glasses to do my work. I am so happy that I am going to splurge and now get prescription sunglasses! Of course, Marcy measured me for that also. She is absolutely right! I was measured incorrectly or not as well when they did the numbers for the progressive lenses. No wonder they are so expensive. They work well - if they are measured right! So, if you have or want progressive lenses - go to Marcy at FOR EYES at West Kendall. The staff there is great. I appreciate the boss Aleida being so professional when she saw me visibly upset, and for Gisela who really was the great "calmer", with her smile, and her willingness to help me find glasses as we waited for Marcy. The 1 hour and 5 minutes was well worth the wait. I remind myself that the world does not revolve around me, and I do consider myself patient, but sometimes, at the end of a long day, the ugly side comes out. This is the place to go if you want a great eye exam and excellent customer service. I have been going to For Eyes for many years with my family (my son has Autism) and I've always had a great experience. The whole staff is great, especially Marcy who've I dealt with the most. I can't see. First time visit with Dr Terry (Flores)? and she tried something new and cut one of my contact prescriptions in half to help with a minor bifocal issue. I had to adjust my vision by closing one eye. I rushed my prescription and had the exam and lenses filled quickly for insurance purposes. Fast forward (10 months later) and I opened the box. I called asking to trade in for my regular prescription. I'm over the 2 week trial period and the contact person implies that my sight has worsened and it's not the doctors fault. It was insulting since this was a new approach and under special circumstances where I JUST opened the box. I've never had a prescription filled so inaccurately. If you decide to come here, my advice is to test out the lenses. If they don't have them, wait until they do so you don't get stuck with an expensive product that you can never use. read more

These people are very rude and unhelpful, they will find excuses not to help you even for the simplest thing. Anytime I need to call them to get a question answered on the phone, they are so unbelievably rude, I don't know how they get away with it. Horrible customer service. 3pm apt turns into a 45 min wait time when don't even really any customers. The "employees" in front are more worried about they're personal looks then taking care of customers. Honestly, this place may have been renovated and is in a centralized point in kendall, but the service and time consumption to have an eye appointment is ridiculous. I had to come back another day because it is SO slow. I came in on a Monday and had the pre-evaluations done and had to leave because is takes too long, then came back the following Friday and I had to do the whole procedure from the beginning again. Waste of time. They have 6 associates with a optometrist, which I don't consider a doctor, run this place and they just juice your time (was there for about 2 hours) to receive a simple prescription for my eyes. Needs new management, be more efficient with people's time. The "doctor" sure does like to take her time to only see a handful of patients. I would recommend Optical World in dadeland mall. They have their time efficiency down packed! If you're looking for a quick check-up, don't even consider this place. read more

I have been going to this store with my wife for years. The staff is always impeccably patient and kind when it comes to fixing my glasses. Yesterday was no different. I am as blind as a bat, so you can imagine my desperate need for progressive glasses that actually sit properly on my face (even on New Years Eve). The purpose of this review is to recognize this staff for their excellence, even when their are being treated disrespectfully on a day that they should be with their family. A lady and her father came in demanding to purchase new glasses under their insurance. The store manager attended them and asked the proper follow up questions to locate her prescription and insurance coverage. The lady was nothing but snarky, rude, disrespectful, and nasty. She spoke to the store manager and another attendant in ways that belittled them and treated them like garbage. After all the rude remarks and comments (even to her own father), the manager finally was able to locate the insurance coverage information in a completely different company than what that terrible excuse for a lady told the her. The rude customer didn't apologize for being wrong, and went ahead and ordered glasses. Not once did the employees reflect the same negative attitude, but instead dealt with the situation as professionals. I felt terrible for the manager and attendant and on my way out wished them nothing but the happiest of new years. Thank you for your service! read more

The doctors that work here are personable, professional and competent. I went to another optical, their competitor, and found their optician to be arrogant , impatient and detached. Dr Houghton recognized that he was dealing with changing eyes-don't need bifocals but the contacts for distance were affecting my reading vision. We went through several different combinations over a period of 1 month until I felt perfectly comforatble with the prescription. He encouraged me to try different combinations, until I was satisfied. I am not a difficult person but the other optician was making me feel bad that I had a hard time pinpointing a prescription that worked. i went there last year for contacts and everything went fine. my insurance apparently covered the exam and up to $130 for the contacts so all i had to pay was $36 difference for the contacts. so this time when i went everything went exactly the same as last year except that the hispanic lady mentioned in other bad reviews said i had to pay $59 this time. she claims its because i require toric lenses which i know and so do they because its the same ones from last year. to top it off i go to pay the difference for the contacts and they try to charge me $66 this time so i tell the lady thats not what i paid last time and she was kind enough to un-gouge the price.i m a family of four and they just lost our business because of that lady that works there.(i think its maria...older hispanic lady with some grey hair) the doctors are great but the service is not. read more
