I go to VIsion Unlimited PA for all my Vision needs. However, my pros and cons are about even.... Pros: - It was very quick to make an appointment. I made the appointment the same week I needed to get a form filled out for an eye exam. - Very friendly optometrist! He seemed eager to get to know me. - Short wait when I arrived. Cons: - It took them a while to look up my insurance information and verify the information. I had to call them about three different times to do this. - There wasn't a lot of seats available when I got there, so I had to stand and wait for my name to be called. - The staff (not the optometrist) seemed like they were there for a quick buck and did not interested in answering my questions. Whenever I asked them a question, it always seemed that they would brush me off. Overall, it was "pleasant"-- not bad, not excellent! I would probably go there again because they do offer a wide array of eyeglass frames. read more

Just terrible. They are very unprofessional. I called to make an order for contact last Monday, gave my card info. The lady said it will be ready in a week. Called a week later, they said my order was never placed.. I had to make another order and WAIT ANOTHER WEEK. I called to see if they could at least give me a sample since I'm in need of new contacts. They said off the bat that they don't have samples. When clearly they do. Been calling to see when my order will be ready and they don't answer the phone. Terrible service. Rude employees. Currently looking for another place because I can't take this terrible service. read more

good luck when calling for follow up. been trying to talk to someone at that location. nobody answers

Unbelievably incompetent. I've called and gone several times. No one in customer service can tell me when I got my glasses or whether I have authorization for new pair. What kind of business is this??? read more

I did not use this location for my new eyeglasses. I used the Florida International University location but even though this might be a franchise it's still the same basic company. I can tell you that I wasted $300. The glasses feel incredibly cheap. The frames are nice but again they feel incredibly cheap. They did not feel that way when I picked them out, they felt sturdy, but when I received them with the glasses portion, it was as if they cut them in half because you can see a very visible seam Throughout the glasses frame. When I went to pick them up, the prescription was completely wrong. I don't know what happened. I'm assuming that they put someone else's prescription on my glasses. Then it took another two weeks for me to get them back. When I got them back, it turns out that they number one, did not add the transition Correctly as well as I had requested the glasses be thin, which had been done by the previous company that was in the same space. I have a pair of glasses. My prescription is very high however, the glasses are thin. These new glasses were super thick, and the most that they would do was give me a credit. After completely bungling everything I decided that even though I can't afford it, I don't want to argue anymore and I am just going to take this as a total loss. I just called them and asked them to forward me my prescription and I'm just going to wind uppaying twice as much because my insurance will no longer cover it until next year. But at least I will get a nice pair of glasses that fit correctly and that aren't cheaply made. read more

If no stars was an option, that's what I'd rate this place! Pearl Vision and For Eyes are 100% better than this place. The health department needs to go check this place out. They're overbooked every Saturday l've been there, with over 16 people waiting to be seen at the same time. They don't clean the machines after each patient. To save on the chin guards, they'll use a tissue paper in between patients! And between my son and I , they didn't even bother to switch out the chin guard paper (gross)!! Same thing when I went into the exam room. I never saw them replace the chin guard Paper or clean the machine after the last patient. The front of the lenses of the eye exam machine had months of dust accumulated on it. It's no wonder these folks can't get it right on contact lens prescriptions! The overcrowding dirsnt help, especially when trying to show a first time contact lense wearer how to put them on. The overall conditions of where they teach how to put the contacts is just unsanitary, with one million people around you! After that, they couldn't place my son's contact lens order on Saturday cause the computer system doesn't work. I believe it's time this place got a system upgrade. Then it took forever for someone to attend to me on the telephone on the weekday to take my order. When they finally did, they said the contacts would arrive in three days, and someone would be contacting me via telephone to pick them up. I waited an entire week before calling. When I called, they said the contacts were there!!! When the heck was someone gonna let me know!!! For my personal experience, I went back 3 times, each time being asked to try a different prescription. I even took them the last prescription from my doctor, and they still wouldn't get it right! Absolutely horrific customer service, in fact, its non-existent! They have a paper at the front of the office that says that everyone is responsible for looking at their own benefits cause they don't have time to look into it for everyone. WHAT??? The clueless little young girls they have in the front desk are useless. They just want to cross people off the list to make them sit down and wait in the front for over an hour (so forget your appointment time cause it's just not gonna happen). Definitely taking my butt back to my former eye doctor! I'm soooo livid with this place!! UNFREAKING BELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!! Angry Emoji!!!! read more

This place has no customer service what so ever. I have been waiting for an hour and a half and I cane in when they opened. They don't care that they take forever to see you. worst experience i ever had with an optometrist. if i could give no stars, i would. don't waste your money.

This is the worst place ever not only that the receptionist is rude as someone cAn be......! They make you wait like they are doing you a favor. Not only that they waited until the last minute to let me know that they could not assist my son because the insurance did not send them a answer to the request I mean what is the professional manners in this place ??? Do not go to this place. The receptionist Alfonso or whatever gives horrible customer service and could not give me any answers as to when my prescription would be ready. Told me he would call back and never did. The Optometrist seems to be new or he's just utterly lazy. When I saw him I sat at the machine and he looked at me for 1 single minute and told me nothing in my prescription changed and that my appointment was over. Shortest, laziest eye exam I've ever had. I would give this place a 0 if it were available! BE WARY - THEY ARE THIEVES!!!! My mother got her glasses here and they told her her vision had changed. $800 later it turns out it was a big LIIE!! In fact, they failed to diagnose her with a huge problem in her retina. How these people can be in busy is a mystery to me. read more

My family & I just left this office and I am mortified. This is our first time going and it will be our absolute VERY LAST!!! I should have known this was going to be a negative experience from the start. First I was called & told that one of my son was not covered. I was told to call the insurance. I called them & they advised me that my son was fully covered. I called the office back again, was again told the same thing by another in the office. This went on & on with the office telling me to call the insurance over & over until finally a customer service supervisor in the office came to the phone & took my sons info. Then 2 seconds later she said SHE DOES SEE that my son was fine and that he is covered in their system. Why couldn't the other 2 reps in her office see this from the beginning as opposed to wasting my time & telling me to call the insurance OVER & OVER?! Unreal. But I remained calm & patient. Then today, the day of my appt. I was told we needed to cancel or transfer our appt bc of a/c issues. Fine, we went to their other office in KendallWood off of 120th. That was strike 3. We waited forever. My sons (4 & 5 years old) were getting restless & there were patients who came in STATING that they did not have an appt but were seen before us. When we finally got seen the Dr. was unbelievable. And not in a good way. I guess in HIS WORLD he is ONLY accustomed to individuals who ONLY "look" Hispanic! My sons are Panamanian Chinese Jamaican. They have tan skin & Asian eyes. This man, this Dr, was terribly inappropriate & horribly racist. He would not stop calling my sons "Oriental". Repeatedly! He kept pulling his own eye & speaking on how "oriental" their eyes were. They are close in age & asked if they were twins. I said no, that they are 11 mos. apart & he says, very inappropriately, "wow, you guys were busy". Then he proceeded to ask about their father & asking where their father was & if he was coming back to the US & that when he comes back are we going to be making more babies?! I just could not believe what I was hearing. Even the girl sitting in the room with us on the computer taking the Drs notes looked extremely uncomfortable. It was difficult to schedule their appt in the first place. And if my sons did not NEED this appointment today we would have walked out. However I'm forced to return to retrieve my sons glasses & at that point they need to be educated a bit. This is Miami Florida! Miami is a VERY diverse city with individuals of ALLLL nationalities, backgrounds & FEATURES. And calling my sons "oriental" is just as offensive & derogatory as if I were to call someone a Spick. Unacceptable!!! read more

Poorly customer service, for a simple eye examen 2 hour awaiting. Services really bad .

It had been about 7 yrs since, my last eye doctors appointment i decided to just go and get my eyes checked since, i sit in front of a computer all day for work. After reading Lourdes Z. review i decided to go there plus, its super close to my house. I met with Doctor Cuevas he was very polite and friendly and got my eyes checked fast. The reason why i don't give them more stars is because, of the staff they were all very loud and one was very rude to other patients which i disliked and found unprofessional. read more

NEVER AGAIN! They need to be shut down INDEFINITELY!!!!!! I called to order contacts and I was told I had to pay the full amount about a year ago or less you would pay half on the phone and other half when you picked up. I called 6 days later to check the status I was on hold for almost 5 mins the guy said it would take another week due to the holidays I said are you sure the order was placed he said yes I am sure I said okay. I got a call 3 mins later saying I had to see the doctor before I could order my contacts I currently do not have insurance and the eye exam is 168! On top of the 124 I paid in for my contacts! I said no one told me I already paid for my contacts she said you need to see the doctor mind you she only spoke to me in Spanish when I know she speaks English! She said I am going to cancel the order I said okay and she hung up. I was so upset I called them 2 days later the same lady picked up in the middle of me explaining my story asking for my money back or some type of credit she hung up the phone!!! I called back 3 times and called 4 times from another phone number NO ONE ANSWERED !! I had an appointment on Saturday, April 27th and I waited in there office from 8:30 AM till 11:00 AM (2 1/2 Hours) to see Dr Mario Carcamo. He saw me to see if the vision RX given by Adriana Carcamo previously was not correct. I spent 15 minutes with him after waiting for 2 1/2 hours. Dr Carcamo apologized for the long wait and I was dismissed. After being a patient for years at this office which is consistently disregards the waiting times for their patients. I didn't have to wait a long time to go see the doctor. I was happy that they had gloves and hand sanitizer and was extremely satisfied that they changed the chin paper and cleaned the machine right in front of me. I had a few questions since I was seeing lights out of the corner of my left eye and at the beginning the doctor was explaining things in a way I didn't understand his accent and I told him and he was kind enough to explain again so I would understand what he said. When I came out to pick my glasses the lady who took care of me was not answering my questions and she seemed to be in a hurry lo leave that I asked her if she was about to leave and she still had an hour to leave and the problem is that because of the Covid-19 every eyeglass I would try on she had to clean so I tried on 5 or 6 and now she was making faces. I put on a few more and picked one that I liked but not a 100% satisfied because she was making me feel like a nuisance. I got my glasses and I'm happy with them. I ordered contact lenses also and the tryouts were not a 100% and another doctor made some changes. I hope I don't have any problems with it. But I can't complaint because although customer service was not great everything else went good and I didn't have to argue with anybody. I would give them 4 stars except for the lady that helped me pick my glasses because she really didn't help Boring!.... Maybe she had a rough day before me read more

I just recently started going to Vision Unlimited and I must say, I am a fan. From making the first appointment over the phone, checking in with Ms. Ariel Arroyo (yes, I called to get her last name) was a breeze. She is friendly and explained everything so clearly. I waited about 35 mins to be seen (on a busy Monday) and the optometrist was so nice and sweet. I see other reviews where ppl complain about the sign in the waiting area about patients being responsible for their insurance benefits. Having worked myself in the healthcare field for more than 12 years, I can honestly say that it is so very frustrating when patients don't know their benefits and their financial responsibilities. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. Not anyone else's. The note is not saying that they don't have time to verify the benefits, they have no choice but to run the benefits to make sure they will be getting paid properly, they are simply asking you to be aware of the plan YOU chose with YOUR insuranace company so when you get there, you understand your responsibilty/benefits FULLY and not have 101 questions regarding that. Anyway, will definitely go back for all my vision needs. I didn't give it 5 stars only becase it was a little hard to find parking and I hate Miami drivers =) read more

This is a horrible place. The staff is highly incompetent, including the doctors. I ordered glasses and my wife contacts. I was given the wrong prescription, could not see well with my glasses. I had to have a second exam; the second prescription was very different from the first. The contacts they ordered from my wife were a different brand than what the doctor had prescribed. When the second set of contacts came in, they did not bother to call my wife. We had to follow up to see if the contacts were in the shop. Then, when my wife went to get her contacts, they wanted to charge extra for that brand, even thought our insurance covered it as well as the previous brand. In the end, they acknowledged that we were right. Very incompetent and rude staff. read more

First visit for eye exam and placing the order for new glasses was a pleasant and efficient experience. Then the antireflective process became defective before the warranty expired but I procrastinated and tried to get resolution after warranty expiration and my experience was horrific. Their behavior was rude and insolent and condescending without even offering to try to discover the causes for the defects. read more

I have been to this office twice with my children the first time it was a very long wait but I myself work at a doctors office so I understood every situation is different, however the second time around my experience was not a pleasant one , I waited for over 2 hours again I patiently waited with no complaints , once they saw my daughter I was told she needed a new prescription from her left eye which was not covered by the insurance and that I would have to pay out of pocket , like any parent I paid out of pocket and got the recommended glasses , once my daughter received the glasses she told she was having difficulty seeing with them , I called the office and told them the problem they told me to give it a few weeks since It was a new prescription it would take her a few weeks to adjust , a few weeks passed and she still was not able to use the glasses , I called the office and would get no response , left voicemails , no one would call me back ,so my daughter just went back to using her prior glasses , Monday 8/28/17 I left the last voice mail, today 8/30/17 after calling 7 times someone finally picked up , once I explained to her my situation she was absolutely rude , pretty much said they couldn't do anything , I'd have to take my daughter back and I would have to pay again for the new prescription she would need , all this while giving me a nasty attitude. I am extremely upset because they won't even fix the lense that THEY prescribed that seems to be the wrong strength for my daughter eye. After this last visit I am not going back and definitely not recommending this office to anyone . read more
