I arrived at this emergency center with my daughter at 2:00 p.m. due to an eye emergency. The…read moreinitial registration process and vital signs were relatively quick. The physician then ordered a CT scan. An IV was placed, and we were walked to the imaging area. During the procedure, my daughter vomited. She was given a hospital gown and returned to the treatment area, where she remained for more than four hours wearing soiled clothing and with the smell of vomit, without being offered any appropriate option for hygiene, clean clothing, or basic care. This was deeply uncomfortable and undignified. We repeatedly requested information about the test results. We spent an extended period in an exam room without any medical provider present, with a computer left open displaying sensitive information about other patients who were waiting. This represents a serious breach of privacy and confidentiality. Eventually, we were verbally told that the CT scan showed no findings, without a clear explanation or immediate follow-up plan. In total, we have been in the facility for over 10 hours. Later, a doctor entered the room and once again asked why we were there, highlighting a troubling lack of continuity and communication in her care. This experience was dehumanizing, marked by a lack of empathy and a failure to meet the basic standards of respect, hygiene, communication, and confidentiality that every patient deserves--especially in an emergency setting. P.S. As of 12:07 a.m., we are still waiting to be discharged, alone in the doctor's exam room, and have now been waiting for more than 40 additional minutes with no communication or update.

Bypass the main reception area and go directly to the LASER vision center to the left. At initial eval, you get a bunch of tests done at different stations. (Bring some work or reading to do while you wait.) Afterwards, you meet with the optometrist to discuss findings and see if you are a candidate. I was able to schedule the procedure quickly. I went w/ Dr. Sonia Yoo, who came highly recommended by my ophthalmologist friend who trained at same institution (Mass Eye and Ear). Had to wait some more day of surgery, but it was worth it. They give you 2 valiums (can take 1 or 2). You do another quick test. Then the procedure is done, which takes ~ 15 min. I felt no pain, and Dr. Yoo explained everything. You get a nice kit w/ a blanket, stuffed animal, eye shields, sunglasses, and eye drops - everything you need. They give you instructions on what to do. Best thing is to sleep afterwards, bc once the numbing drops wear off, some people experience burning/itching. I did not feel any of this because I fell asleep at home. The next day, I could see perfectly! I had no pain whatsoever. This is the best decision I have ever made, and the results are life-changing. Dr. Yoo is incredible. I had a lot of fear about the procedure beforehand and about possible complications. I am so happy about going forward with getting LASIK. Despite the waiting, I think this is the place to go.

I've been wearing glasses/contacts since I was 3-years-old (yes, it's been a confusing, blurry, journey), so to say I was nervous about LASIK is understating how scared I was about the whole thing. Despite my fears, the staff has been warm, friendly, reassuring, and most of all, knowledgeable through every step of the process. Not even a full 24 hours after I was operated on I already saw better than 20/20. The actual procedure can be daunting at first, but Dr. Aran guided me and literally talked to me throughout the whole 15-minute surgery (which is 100% painless). I can't tell you how crucial this was to my psyche. His reassuring words and step-by-step description of what he was doing kept me calm and focused. Dr. Stelzer, meanwhile, is a beacon of comfort and expertise, and he's THE driving force in making sure the recovery period is as smooth and delicate as possible. To put it in layman's terms: the guy knows his stuff. It's truly miraculous work Dr. Aran, Dr. Stelzer, and the staff at TLC Coral Gables take part in. You're in good hands the second you walk through the door.

Review based on initial visit…read more Receptionist was very attentive and detail oriented. However, Dr. Seltzer should take training on quality care. Not only did he make us wait (as he was leaning back on his chair) he left us waiting for about 30 minutes THEN rushed to get us out of the office. He didn't even give us an opportunity to ask questions. Overall, he was super unprofessional and impersonal. I should've given more credit to the Yelp reviews. If you have legitimate questions about quality eye care, save your time and look else where.

I chose Beraja because it was close to my house so I figured I'd give it try. Here's a run down of how it went (for those interested): 1. They offer free parking (def. a plus when in Coral Gables) 2. Arrived about 20 minutes before my appt and was seen within 10 minutes. 3. Started with this new machine that scanned my eye without having to have them dilated - totally awesome. 4. Dr. Beraja was thorough and explained the process in an understandable way - cool because I don't speak doctor. 5. I was out of there within the hour and it turns out I still have decent vision - thank god because I wasn't ready for contacts or glasses. Overall, a good experience and I recommend. I was made to wait an extra half hour with the hope of being able to see the optometrist only to find out she doesn't accept my insurance, the same one the doctor just saw me with. Unbelievable, this is a joke and overall a waste of time in my case, I strongly urge you to call and voice any concerns before checking it out.
