I'm big on customer service and For Elyse definitely is good at this. The girls are always friendly and helpful. The clothes vary greatly in price. I've gotten a shirt for 10 dollars and jeans can be $200. Really cute stuff though, and they offer discounts on Facebook and stuff. read more

I'd have to agree with Corrine below, I find For Elyse creepy and a little unsettling. or God's sake, who thought it was a good idea to put strip lighting in?! The majority of the clothes look really cheap and tacky - just because you slap a 60 dollar price tag on a dress doesn't disguise the fact that it was crafted out of some plastic and lycra combination. It all seems a bit dated, circa 1992 to me. The staff are really friendly, but it's still not enough to distract me from the wierdness of this store. read more

LOVE this place! I used to go to school at Chico State and recently made a visit to this store and I love their clothes and style! I took one star away since some of the clothes were a little pricey but they had some great sales as well! The sales girls who were working that day were awesome! My sister and I said afterwards that it made us want to buy more since they were so nice and helpful! They have a better selection then LuLu's. HORRIBLE, I went to exchange a purse, and wallet, and it had not even been 7 Days yet they would not except the return, I wasn't even trying to return I wanted to exchange and spend more money. I was so disappointed to learn of their 14 day return policy. Crazy!! I got two new things for Christmas, tried to return exchange them, not even return and they said no because it had been more than 14 days!!!! That means you can't buy things ahead of time as gifts because the person won't be able to return them. Terrible policy. read more

I have been a long time customer of For Elyse, this store provided excellent customer service. The employees are always very helpful and I never leave with out finding the item I came in for plus additional items for fun. The atmosphere is very lively and upbeat, it is a great place to find a nice top or dress for a night out as well as an outfit for school or work. This is one of my favorite clothing stores in Chico! Their prices are moderately cheap and they have the cutest clothes. They also update their inventory all the time so every time I go in there they have new items. Their customer service is great! All of the employees are very nice and fashionable. They have helped me put together outfits I love that I probably wouldn't have been able to throw together otherwise. They are also very understanding. I bought a shirt there a couple weeks ago that ended up ripping because the fabric was very thin. However, they did not hesitate to give me store credit and return it even after it was worn. I used to love this store. I can often find something I like, but I always walk out feeling like I spent a lot of money on two shirts. I always made it my problem and assumed I had expensive taste.. Haha. but I felt the need to write a review now because I am devastated. They had a "deal" of two $50 gift cards for $40. I had two friends that recently had babies and never buy anything nice for themselves. I bought the two cards and a scarf for myself. Both of my friends went in to redeem their gift cards and there was no value on it. I had kept the receipt, one friend took it in, but my other friend had just thrown the gift card away, so they assumed that the full $50 was on the other card and said there was nothing they could do. I have been really bummed about it- especially because those mamas needed a pick me up. I don't usually give a bad review and I've been shopping there since college, additionally I love supporting local business.... but I don't think I will be going back. read more

I find this store refreshing. Foever 21 is cheesy and they couldn't even change the dirty carpets left by Gottschaulks! There are a variety of prices in For Elyse and I think the quality is much better than many stores in Chico. Lulu's is nice and has some good clothes but very limited and seems used. read more

I tried to exchange a shirt that was new with the tags still on but I was passed their 7 DAY return policy so I couldn't even do an exchange. I will never shop in this store again. I purchased a cute shirt that was some sort of cotton-something mix, wore it once, washed it on a cold, delicate cycle, and the dang thing fell apart. There were several holes in it and one sleeve ended up shrinking to a different size. I called the store after this happened to see if they could give me a refund or replace it. They immediately got defensive and put all the blame on me for washing it. The girl said "I dry clean most of my shirts from here." Keep in mind the tag did NOT say to dry clean. Who would pay to dry clean a $30 shirt?? Ridiculous. Then she said they don't give refunds but I could get 10% off my next purchase. Right, like I'd buy another piece of junk from them after this! About a week later, I tried going into the store in person to speak with a manager. An older woman, not dressed like one of their employees, who was doing something with the cash register told me the manager was not in. Um...okay...then who are you? She was obviously not just one of their sales girls. She flat out lied to me, and again, blamed me for washing the shirt. Then she told me the "manager" would just tell me the same thing. Their service is horrible. I have worked in retail for a long time and would never even think of treating someone so poorly. I told them I would never shop there again and this is why people don't shop downtown. At least when you shop at a place like Kohls they will make it right if there is a problem and don't make you feel bad because their product is a piece of garbage. read more

I bought a purse here- it fell apart, the sewing all came undone at the zipper. i took it back right away, they gave me the identical one again, so no problem. Then the second one did the exact same thing ! All the sewing came undone in the exact same spot ! I took it back again only to be told I could not return it, no store credit either ! Obviously there is something wrong with the manufacturer of this purse and the store should stand by their products, of which they did not. I had purchased $$$ jeans and capris here, of which they have now lost my business. Standing behind your products is a big deal to me and to most people. If I need something, I go here! The store is always clean, the girls are all very nice and I love their selection of clothes. They have such a wide variety of clothes, shoes, and accessories. A lot of people don't know that they have men's clothing as well. I was just in this last weekend and the girls picked out some wonderful outfits for me, I really like how they accessorize everything in the fitting rooms to give you an idea of how it will really look. The clothes are ok but definitely over priced. You can find the same stuff at nordy rack for a fraction of the cost. The quality is lacking on some of the stuff so be careful washing. I've had at least two shirts snag within 2 washes. Overall, considering it's targeting college students, the prices should match the quality. read more

When I went into for Elyse the employees were treated terrible by other employees as well some of the cashier girls were very pushy and rued.There was only one young girl that was smiling and the rest of the girls looked extremely unhappy with there job or bored.While I was looking for clothes there would be several girls by the cashier area just talking.The clothes are not of good quality either.I bought a shirt and then seen when I got home that it had a small hole.For Elyse return policy is terrible.I will never shop at this store again and will never reccomend this store to anyone.For the price of things now days and money being tight for most people,I feel people need to be more honest and have good costumer service.And For Elyse has none of these.As well they seem to go through there employees rather fast by what I have heard.And by what I viewed on how some of the employees treated another employee while I was in the store was shocking.Which is not a good sign as well.Again I would not reccomend anyone to work or shop at For Elyse.If you decide to I think you will see what I am saying rather quickly.We have much better stores in Chico and its sad that we even have a store like For Elyse in Chico Calf. Bought a pair of shoes from here and the bottom piece fell off within the first two hours of wearing them. Keep in mind I was not out on a wild adventure. I was on college campus in class. Returned to the store since I had made the purchase two days prior to exchange them or get a refund. They put superglue on the shoe and said they couldn't return them. The workers left my phone number for the owner to contact me to give me some sort of discount. I never heard from the owner. read more

It's my first time and will be my last time shopping at Elyse. I paid for a pair of boots for my daughter. The sale associate assured me that all I needed was my receipt to pickup our order. They called us about a month later. When we got to the store, the boots is the wrong style and the they would not give us a refund or another pair of boots. There was no record of our purchased anywhere. If you make an order at Elyse be sure to get everything in writ ting along with the receipt. read more
