Definitely what I needed
Ebony B.

It doesn't get any better than footsage! They come to you!! That's the best part, and they top it off with a great relaxing massage. I was so relaxed after my massage and it was the perfect addition to my relaxing weekend. My massage therapist was kind and attentive, making sure I was having the best massage possible. I will definitely be making another appointment soon for my next massage with footsage.

I chose one person but you get a phone call from The owner to ask a few questions then he may suggest someone that deal with your specific tension area. Shelley can 20 min early and set up.. She did 3 people and we were satisfied, in the privacy of the back yard with a cool breeze blowing and birds chirping.

I came in because I was having really bad shoulder and neck pain due to prolonged poor posture while working. These muscles were very tight and when I pressed and gave myself a little rub it felt very lumpy with what sounded like popping. I usually get the Thai combination massage because I need the masseuse the get into those tight areas. I'm not going to lie this massage is no joke and even though they ask if the pressure is ok or too much. I just go with it because I know I will be better for it. I have even almost cried, but again I would shed a little tear because the relief that follows from constant discomfort before the massage at Serene Thai is worth it. It's a chill spot, simple. Nestled in a small shopping center with tight parking. There is also a parking lot behind the center and street parking. The Price point for 60 - 90 minute massages is really LOW. A massage at a regular spa would cost 75-150$ per hour, so TIP accordingly and cash tips are highly encouraged.

She informed me that by me not doing stretching or walking, I was default receiving the light massage. So I asked her... if I told you I wanted medium-firm, why would you give me the light massage option? Why would you not explain that to me so we could figure it out? I'll spare you. I went in circles with the young lady for 5 minutes who continued to tell me that I received light, because I did not want stretching. It was very frustrating. They also lay the towels they wipe you with on your sheets, so you feel cold and wet. Honestly... they have decent techniques, just lack attention to the details. Like massaging your face at the end of your massage instead of immediately when you turn over on your back. That's the most relaxing part of the massage and they do it at the end. (My fiancé didn't even get his face massaged).

TERRIBLE SERVICE! RUDE & EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL! On 1/22/26, I was 5 mins into my massage the…read moresame woman who just approved/redeemed my Groupon stormed into the room wagging her finger at me shouting "NO NO NO" repeatedly. I'm confused at what was happening as I'm laying on the table undressed as the room door flung wide open without any warning. I ask her to explain what the issue was but there was an evident language barrier. I realized this matter wasn't going to be quickly resolved so I asked for her to give me time to get dressed. She used her phone to translate the word "expired" then repeated "No! No! You need to pay money". I explained money was paid and asked if I had to pay additional fees. She didn't understand my question. Once again I asked for her to leave the room and to close the door so I could get dressed. Having a conversation with someone who thinks I owe them money while being naked is not ideal. I was extremely uncomfortable! She charged into that room like I stole money from her purse, she didn't knock, say excuse me or apologize for interrupting. The woman finally closed the door but insisted on staying inside the room while I got dressed. Are you serious?! She then called someone on the phone to help translate because she didn't understand me when I asked "what would be the additional cost after subtracting the amount that was paid for the Groupon", I was not going to pay full price. She kept repeating Groupon got the money not her. I believe the woman on the phone explained how Groupon works to her. She wanted me to pay $75 in addition to the $67 that was already paid for the gifted Groupon. I asked her the original price and was told $120. The math is not adding up, I refused to pay that amount. For $142 I could go somewhere that is actually nice. This place had me in a bright room with a large window that was missing blinds & curtains and it was facing the street. No dim lights or music of any kind at this location. No calming mood was set at all. On top of that, the rude and unprofessional service I received was utterly appalling! This is not how you treat customers! Btw I called 2 hrs ahead of time to make my appt, I informed them I had a Groupon and offered to give the voucher number before I arrived but was told to wait until arrival. On arrival I showed my voucher and the woman even took my phone from my hand to look at it closer. Apparently both of us didn't realized it had expired just a few days ago. She redeemed my voucher then later overreacted instead of just kindly asking for me to either pay more for my massage, don't pay more but offer a shorter massage, or just honor the Groupon as a courtesy because I'm already naked on the table and she had already redeemed my voucher. Never in my life have I witnessed such despicable behavior from an establishment. AVOID THIS BUSINESS!!!

I went to Happy Feet today to claim my voucher from Groupon. I had purchased a groupon a few months…read moreand needed to redeem. I called a few days ahead to schedule an appointment. About an hour before my appointment, the receptionist called and asked if I could come a few minutes earlier. My masseuse was Mark. Long story short, the whole experience is lackluster. There's definitely a language barrier between myself and the people who work at Happy Feet. I feel they definitely speak Mandarin (maybe Korean). The receptionist was watching a live stream of 4 Chinese girls. When I scheduled my appointment, the receptionist mumbled when confirming my appointment. I initially thought, they were more of a walk in establishment and didn't think much of it. When she called me an hour before, I asked if I could tip in card, because I didn't have cash on hand, but she mumbled again (I figured to drop by the ATM anyways). When the massage was over, I handed the $20 and asked for change, but she just said "Thank You." I stood there a few seconds afterwards, and she asked if my massage was good and told me to come again. The masseuse didn't say anything throughout my session- which isn't the problem. He started off very gentle and eventually added a little more pressure. But he never asked for adjustments. I thought the massage was ok. At the time of my massage, the I could hear the liquor store next door was going through an altercation. I don't know if it was a homeless person or someone just aggravated, but glass was shattered and the police were called. Funny enough, I dozed in and out through my massage. I know I was snoring, because my snore would wake me up. When Mark finished, he lifted the towel over my face, instead of telling me he was done --which I thought was really unprofessional. Maybe he thought I was still asleep. The building is on the corner of Olympic and Arlington Ave. The parking was hard to get into. You have to know immediately where it is, otherwise you'd miss it. You can definitely argue, that I could have been more assertive or clear myself. I can see why they were on Groupon - and probably I get what I pay for; so take my review collectively with others on Yelp. The whole experience for me was ok, but I definitely would not revisit.

A few notes: They ask you to switch to their slippers during the massage. The massage rooms are very small with no spot for your clothes so bring a gym bag or tote to hold them during your massage. The rooms do not go to the ceiling. You can hear other clients and masseuses during your appointment. I was surprised how reasonable the price was. It was similar to little Saigon in Orange County. Let me start by saying, if you've never had a colonic and this is the first place you go to, you…read morewill never ever know that other places are no where near as nice as this place! It's like going to a Burke Williams spa for colonics (aka colon hydrotherapy). More importantly, Alicia is amazing! She walks you through every step and makes you feel so relaxed that you forget there's a tube up your but flushing your toxic waste out! Honestly, I never even feel it's happening. I might feel the tiniest little sensation of pressure, but it's ZERO compared to all other colonics I've had. I've done both "open" and "closed" systems. This is a "closed" system. Honestly the "open" ones are a lot of work! And the closed ones I feel are more relaxing and personal as the practitioner will massage your belly and help you eliminate easier. But I am telling you, Alicia takes this to a whole other level! First off, she's in a gorgeous old building in downtown LA that has the type of character no new buildings have these days. 2nd, when you enter her space, it immediately feels like a spa. Calm, white, clean, serene, nice white leather furniture in the waiting area with a soothing waterfall feature right next to you. Then when you go in the bathroom there's a gown and slippers waiting for you and a basket for your clothes and even an area to hang your purse and everything you'd need to remove make up and simply put yourself in the zone. Then you go into the room and the actual table is HEATED, just like a nice spa massage table would be! It's got an infared mat under it that helps eliminate parasites if you have any (heck, I don't know about you, but I don't know if I have any up in my gutt, but if I do, I sure as heck want them out, out, out)! Then she has you lay on your side and has you help her guide the device in. Once you're situated she applies some mint essential oil to your back (I think it was mint) and then she massages your belly by hand and puts some oils on there too and may use a machine to further massage and break up anything stuck up in there. Don't forget, your colon is as long as you are tall. For me, that's almost 6 feet! That's a lot of poop it can house! Also, she will have you lay on your back for the entire session, once you've been situated and then she will massage your feet and your legs up to your ankles basically doing "acupressure" that also helps you release more. Win, win, win.............. NO ONE ELSE DOES THIS, at least not at the level she does. I was literally backed up and hadn't pooped in well over a week and just couldn't take it anymore. In the span of 2 weekends, I had 4 colonics. 2 of them with Alicia (she has Sunday appts, which no one else does) and 1 in Burbank and 1 in Midwilshire. Honestly, I've been getting colonics sporadically for over 10 years both in Chicago and LA and have gone to at least 10 different places and this is the Ferrari of colon hydrotherapy. If you can afford to stick with Alicia you won't be sorry. Her pricepoint is right around the middle of the road, not the highest and not the lowest, but for what you're getting, THE BEST and worth every last penny. She offers add ons at the end where she can add coffee, garlic, probiotics or minerals, each for $25 I believe. And you can do up 2 at a time, but you should let her know toward the beginning of the session if you want to add on. So if you're looking for a class A act, a super nice, gentle, compassionate, understanding and extremely knowledgeable practitioner to handle your extremely intimate and vulnerable moment, Alicia is the one for you! Sure, you can search for Groupons and find other places for cheaper, but you know the saying..... YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. It's like going to a $25/hr massage shop that only has curtains separating the beds vs going to Burke Williams and being treated like a princess (or prince). :) I highly recommend Essential Blu and Alicia. Btw, on Sundays, you can park in the lot directly across the street (the first entrance on the right - not the 2nd one) and it will be a flat $6 rate to park, or circle the building and hope you find street parking, but give yourself some time since it's all one-way streets and if you don't find something, come back to the $6 flat rate lot and park on the 2nd floor and take the elevator back down then cross the street and go see Alicia. Just remember to ask her ahead of time what her suite number is as the doorman isn't always there on Sundays. :)

As a first timer, I was a bit apprehensive going in. However, the experience was surprisingly…read morerelaxing and even enjoyable! Alicia is wonderful and set me at ease the minute I walked in the door. She is really personable, informative and passionate about what she does. I highly recommend coming to see her.
