Mixed review here. First of all, do not dine here if you have any desire to speak to the person with you. Loud music, loud TV, loud patrons. Second, eat before you go- you will wait a long time for food. Our appetizer took 25 minutes. Food was mixed. Our cod cakes were just passable. My coconut curry salmon was very good, but I had asked if it was a filet or with bones. Was told no bones. A salmon steak always has bones! While I enjoyed my dish, the curry was certainly tame, not what I expected in a Caribbean place. My friend ordered oxtails. I thought the sauce was excellent; he felt it was Chef Boyardee. I went on a beautiful late Saturday afternoon with a friend and was seated immediately. We ordered the carrot juice (marvelous) and sorrel (fabulous) lol. For our entrees we got the jerk chicken Rasta pasta and the lobster and shrimp rice. I must mention the chefs were amazing. We sat near the kitchen so we ended up befriending them. They made us a specialty shrimp dish which was absolutely delicious. Kuddos to the head chef and Bunny. Very cool people. The music playlist was on point. I love footprints. I'm someone who works in the industry. Instead of bringing down a great black own business we need to be a little more supportive. You had bad customer service voice your opinion to your server give him or her pointers. In a nice manner . Believe or not it can be done. If you dine at footprints regularly food takes a while but it's well worth it. If watched them prepare my food everything is fresh made from scratch. NOW THAT How I Like To Eat. Compliments to the Chef and owner. It's a struggle but I must say your doing a great job. Belive it or not if the owner is present he's very hands on with his guess. I will keep coming . The food is very good but the take out delivery and phone service is the worst I've ever seen. The delivery time for this order was 1.5-2 hours we are less than 2 miles away. The woman who answers the phone puts you on hold numerous times, has no knowledge of the food, constantly has to ask someone else, she is rude and disrespectful. She doesn't wait for your replies and quickly responds with what she thinks you're going to say. I know for a fact they lose business behind the delivery and customer service because while ordering patients waiting in the office overheard the trouble we were having placing an order and one said "must be footprints" Parking for dine in is also hard. It is a shame because again, the food is great, the staff can make or break a business and sometimes when there is trouble over and over it can put a bad taste in your mouth. read more

I ordered a chicken and goat combo, which was supposed to be a 2 for one special. I also ordered Roasted beets with Feta cheese. They were out of the Roasted beets and said they had discontinued this item and would be removing it from the menu. As for the 2 for one special, they disputed this special was ongoing, refused to honor the special described, and then hung up on me. When I attempted to call back to speak to the manager, they refused to answer the phone, sending my call to VM. I called five times without them answering the phone. The shrimp I received as compensation for the roasted beets were substandard in taste and presentation and not worth the cost I paid them. The chicken and Goat Combo was not balanced in meat product and were overly seasoned with pepper which was not noted in the menu. I will not consider Footprints Cafe again, nor will I recommend it to anyone. I'm suspicious of eating food at a place where the customer care, consideration, and service are not only substandard but rude and disrespectful. Listen, what are you waiting for?!?! They have THEE best Rasta Pasta! I love their Jerk chicken Rasta pasta. I order that faithfully!!! I've also had their grilled chicken tenders with Rasta pasta--that was okay. I prefer the jerk tenders. I've visited with my sis a few times & she had the salmon Rasta pasta & thoroughly enjoyed that as well. Portions?!?! They give you ALOT of FOOD! Their cucumber juice is very refreshing as well. This restaurant has gone downhill and I don't even think it worth taking any time to give an update but I will for my fellow yelpers. I've previously had annoyances with this location but it was close and my friend and I figured maybe things have changed this time around. AND IT HAS! To begin, the drinks were expertly crafted, tasted great and was presented nicely. However, my glass was incredibly sticky, my drink was not shaken or stirred, and to top it all off I was charged incorrectly. I ordered a volcano, priced at $11.00 on the menu and a footprints whiskey sour, priced at $9.00 on the menu and was charged $22.00. The math obviously doesn't add up and when I asked the bartender about the price he had an attitude and rushed to print out a receipt that showed the different pricing to the drinks. That's nice and all but what I was actually trying today was if there is a price that I can physically see on the menu that is the price that I want to pay! I didn't make much of a deal because it was a good drink and I wasn't there to negotiate I was there to eat so fine. Next the food. My friend and I decided to go with a grilled shrimp app, priced at $11.50, to be fair she was a little nervous about this app since our waiter said the app had 5 shrimp but we were both expecting something a bit more worth the price. Sloppily presented and literally 5 MEDIUM shrimp! I had to take a picture. Although my friendless upset that that was actually considered an app, bland presentation and mediocre in size, I thout it was funny because isn't this the issue I had in the first place with this restaurant? We sent it back and the waiter literally grabbed it off of the table so hard we heard it leave. As our dinner arrived we were still a bit hopeful and it looked good! We went straight to it. Her grilled chicken salad was fresh and delicious! My oxtail however was tough so you better bring your teeth game. This oxtail was so tough that I just had to swallow it up in silence. At this point I was tired of this restaurant completely. The check was given to us without us asking so I guess the waiter was done with us but I still wanted at least one more drink. It was the only thing that was nice so the waiter had to put it on. When we got the check there was an a chicken roti added to the bill. We did not order this! We notified the waiter and he removed it but there was no apology. This restaurant doesn't care whether or not you enjoy anything here and it not worth a customers time. Resist! read more

Their food is really good, however, they have the worst customer service out there. Not to mention that when you order rasta pasta you barely get any of the meat that you ordered on top of it. Since the COVID pandemic they've gotten worse. They are only take out and delivery however it takes over an hour for food to be ready when you call go place an order. I have waited over an hour for my order outside of the restaurant as I watch people who just walked up and place orders get their food before me. It's unacceptable and very rude. Every time I order something is always left out of my order. Plate is never filled all the way. Several times after telling me my order is on the way it's over two hours late or all of a sudden it's not in the system. Why is the driver calling to let me know and not the restaurant trying to help. And to think I always tip the maximum. Probably never order from the Clarendon road location again. read more

Oh my! The food was amazing! I had the chicken and shrimp rasta pasta and the ass kicker drink and they were both great. My boyfriend had stew chicken with rice and peas and he also enjoyed his meal. He order the rum punch which he really liked but it was a little strong for me. The host and waitress were sweet. The dark atmosphere along with the music was just perfect. I should've asked for the playlist because all those songs were good. Only thing I was getting frustrated with is our food took half an hour which is supposedly normal but I understood bc so many people had order to go and the place it self was packed. Really disappointed. My husband and I usually enjoy this place. Tonight was just not a good night for starters we stood at the desk waiting for someone to come to be seated for about 15 minutes. After 15 minutes we went to the bar and asked the bartender if we could sit anywhere she replied someone would be coming shortly. We waited another 12 minutes and decided to go inside again this time to see if there was someone upstairs to seat us. Magically a young woman appeared and hollered can I help you? Not to mention they skimped on the goat but with all that salt I couldn't get by ONE bite! I also bought Salmon and my sons were not having it.... Have been to this establishment and the two others in Brooklyn. I've only ordered a variety of Rasta Pasta, mixing up the meats added to it. Every dish I have ordered has been phenomenal. Can't get enough of it. At the restaurant they have an AMAZING mix drink menu with catchy names. You can literally close your eyes and pick a drink and I'm pretty sure you would enjoy it. The service is so so when it gets crowded at night. Never tried to make a reservation but if you plan on going and sitting down at night, you might want to inquire about making a reservation or going early because the wait can be up to 2 hours! Worst experience ever. Stopped in for lunch and ordered the steamed snapper. My order came out really bland. How does one get steamed snapper with no gravy(sauce)??? I mentioned it to my server and she offered to take it away and for me to try something else. Strike two for me was the escovitched snapper another EPIC FAIL This order came out as fried fish that was reheated and once again tasteless.
