We hired Foothills View landscaping to install a xeriscape design for our home near downtown on the recommendation of the landscape architect. The owner, Gustavo, worked with us directly for the quote, and he was onsite frequentl. his team worked hard regardless of whe he was there. They were professional and always cleaned up at the end of the day. Not only did they install the irrligation, plants, trees and topping, but they also fabricated a fence to replace chain link that had deteriorated. It was a first rate job. Several years ago they were great, installed our new landscaping and all that went with it, but over the course of the last few years have become increasingly unreliable. They were supposed to be doing out maintenance, but that has just really gone down the drain. Gustavo doesn't respond, doesn't follow through, doesn't fix anything he says he'll do. He basically just ghosts us. Very disappointing because he really knows his stuff but he clearly just doesn't want to do this anymore. I can't imagine he will be in business much longer. read more

Hired Gustavo and his guys after a recommendation from our neighbor. We had a lot of clean up to do as we just bought the house and the previous owner hadn't done significant pruning or yard maintenance in years. Gustavo came by the same day we called - gave us a really good price to clean things up. His guys came by a few times per week for about 2-3 weeks to get things in shape. He stopped by afterward and reviewed the work with us and we were able to add some more things to the clean up that we wanted done (ie more cactus removal!) Gustavo and his crew are incredible. They are very detailed and hard working. Recently we added 1,200 square feet of patio space to our back yard for entertaining purposes. Gustavo's crew built us a gorgeous BBQ island and did the tile work perfectly! Plus, they crafted and did the stucco work on a new tiered privacy wall blocking our neighbors to the west. The lighting they added was phenomenal! Weeks of hand laid pavers added such a beautiful look to the new patio. We continue to use Foothills View Landscaping for our monthly maintenance. Ghosting story #2. My landscape architect recommended this firm so I called and spoke w/ Gustavo who told me he would look at the plans and schedule a meeting. 2 weeks later my architect found out that I had not yet met Gustavo and w/in the hour I received a call from him and we set up a meeting. He did not show up and did not call. I called him to see if he wanted to re-schedule but have never heard back from him. He may be good at what he does, but his conduct with me has been unprofessional at best, and disrespectful. read more

They are always on time (usually early), work hard, are courteous and polite, and never leave a mess. I just had a landscape project finished by Foothills View Landscaping and I could not be any happier. I met with Gustavo Iberra a couple of weeks ago to go over the things I wanted to have done and he suggested a few other things which I wholeheartedly agreed with. Within a week he began work on my project. At times there were 5 or 6 guys working on things but for most of the time the crew consisted of 4 guys. These 4 men were probably the hardest working, most careful, most diligent and most responsible workers I have ever had the pleasure to work with. They were all extremely proud of the work they did and if there was ever some small thing they could do to make something look better, they did it. They also went out of their way to repair some of the work other landscape workers had done. For example, I had two wrought iron gates that had never been hung properly which they fixed. I had a tree the was leaning way to far that they re-staked and made look so much better. Every day when they left the work area was completely cleaned up. They were all extremely polite and you could tell how much they enjoyed their work and how proud they were of their work product. I have now signed up with them to do regular yard maintenance for me. I have had several neighbors stop just to tell me how nice our yard looks. You won't be disappointed if you select Foothills View Landscaping to do a project for you, no matter how big or small. My wife and I purchased a lovely home in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains just outside of Tucson in the spring of 2015. While the house and the property were exceptional, the landscaping was not. Last year we decided to do a complete makeover of the landscaping. We're natives of Virginia where I have been a multi-family housing developer for the past 35 years. I have extensive experience working with landscape architects and landscapers for large communities. However, at the time of the purchase of our new home I had little knowledge of and no experience with desert plant materials. To remake the landscaping of our new home, we needed both a designer and landscaper who knew plants of the Sonoran desert and xeriscaping. Also, we wanted to see a proven track record. After thoroughly researching both landscape designers and landscapers, we selected Shelley Abbott of Landscape Design West to prepare a landscape plan. We have previously reviewed her firm---highly recommended! Upon completion of the landscape plan, we interviewed and looked at the work of several landscaping firms. We decided that Foothills View Landscaping was best qualified to execute our plan. We could not have been more pleased with our selection. Gustavo Ibarra, owner of Foothills View Landscaping, was a real pleasure to work with. Gustavo is far more than a landscaper---he's truly an artist. He embraced the design for our property and complemented our designer in every respect. Gustavo has a large crew and is capable of doing large or small jobs. He and his crew worked at our property for a month and were totally professional in every respect. Gustavo and his crew leader did more than we ever expected to make sure we were 100% satisfied with the final product. We were ecstatic with the final product. Gustavo and his crew did an amazing job on my paver patio project! It was a sand pit that was messy and they turned it into a beautiful seating area by the fire pit. I was pretty excited to see these great reviews for this landscaper. I had 2 other ones fall through. I really liked Gustavo. He was so knowledgable about plants and had a lot of great ideas for my project. We had 2 meetings to discuss my project and just before he was to finalize the design and begin the work, he ghosted me. He never resonded to my phone calls and I lost two months of time. He never had the courtesy to pick up the phone and tell me in person. This is no way to run a business, so be warned! read more

I wish there was a 10 star rating for Gustavo and his team. We recently moved into an older home in Tucson where the yard had been ignored for years. Both the front and back yard were like dustbowls and even our dogs did not like being outside. Our plan was to xeriscape our landscape and Shelly Ann Abbott designed a beautiful landscape for our new home. Then Gustavo and his team came in to do the work. Reyes and Rotimiro worked on our property for about a month. Their work was exceptional and we now have a new paver patio, swales and berms that capture run off water, plants that attract butterflies and hummingbirds, an ocatillo fence and so much more. We love both our front and back yards - they have become like additional rooms to our house and we spend lots of time outside now - and the dogs love it too! In one way we were sorry the work was done because it meant we would no longer be seeing Reyes and Rotimiro on a daily basis.
