However, my most recent grooming experience at the Petco location in Orange, near Katella Avenue and Tustin Street, was extremely disappointing. My 15-pound dog came home with a very uneven and poorly done haircut. When I returned to complain, I was told that the groomer was still learning and that mistakes can happen due to lack of experience. While I understand that employees need training, I do not believe a customer's pet should be used to develop those skills without adequate supervision. I also requested a full refund but was only given a partial refund, despite the store's satisfaction guarantee. I have nothing against Petco and appreciate the good care my dog has received in the past. However, I strongly encourage Petco to review the training and supervision of its grooming staff. The safety, comfort, and well-being of our pets should always come first.

His knowledge of dog food…read moreis honestly incredible; instead of just pointing you toward a shelf, he takes the time to ask questions and explain the differences between ingredients so you can make the best choice for your pet. You can tell he genuinely cares about animals. While I was there, my neighbor happened to come in at the same time and was looking for supplements for her dog's joints and an upset stomach. Kameron immediately knew what products would help and explained everything so clearly that she left feeling confident instead of overwhelmed. As if that wasn't enough, after I bought multiple heavy bags of dog food, he carried them all out to my truck for me! That kind of customer service is becoming rare these days. Let's be honest, if my dogs could write reviews, they'd probably be asking for Kameron by name too.

Each time I've come here, I have never once been greeted with a smile, and when I've come to pick up online orders, the employees ask for my name, no smile, of course, hand me my bag, to which I say thank you so much, have a nice day, and they don't say one word in response. As much as I like the store itself, this type of customer interaction (or lack thereof) makes me not want to return.

We paid for the deluxe grooming package which includes: bath, haircut, nail trim, ear cleaning, scissoring feet and pad shaving, teeth brushing, sanitary trim, and anal gland cleaning. With this entire package and hearing from past groomers that he is not the easiest dog to groom, we received a message stating he was done in 2 hours and 15 minutes. Unusual from our experience! When we picked him up, we had to go back inside to ask them to do more sanitary trimming. Additionally, when we came home, our dog had poop stuck to his butt, but did not poop after we picked him up. So, did they even give him a bath? I doubt it because he didn't even smell clean. We also needed to use our dog trimmer to try to clean him up more. Seems like a waste of money and won't be going back.

They were even there for me in a time of need - my 22 yr. old cat, who was in renal failure, was down to 4 pounds because he was hungry but refused all the foods I offered him. I called PSW & the person offered some brand selections & assured me that we'd find something he would eat. My next problem was that they closed 15 minutes from the time I called & I live 30 minutes away. We agreed that they'd set aside the items we discussed & would wait for me. When I got there, my items were bagged at the front counter so I could get back to my cat as quickly as possible. The staff said they'd keep my cat in their thoughts. I continued to get his food from PSW for the remainder of his life and while I was in the area. The staff are knowledgeable and kind. They have a wonderful selection of healthy but tasty foods, treats, and other items at a fair price. But the thing that I will never forget is that they heard my need and went above and beyond to help me & my cat, Turbo. There's not too many places that still offer that type of service - but PSW does.
