Adventure gear or not, Kenco is the place to shop for fly fishing, boating, hunting, camping and so…read moremany other supplies. But if you haven't experienced those outdoor adventures, Kenco is way more than that. When we've vacationed in the Catskills throughout the seasons and have accidentally forgotten to pack either my shorts, winter gloves, rain boots or anything else, Kenco, slightly off Rt 28 in Kingston, has been the place to come to for those. Kenco is a privately-owned and independent company staying true to their number one priority-provide customers with the highest quality products- that can handle any weather condition up here in the Catskills. The store is massive with women's clothing on one side, men's on another- then their other departments follow. And yes, prices are steep- but these folks carefully select their products and only want to sell reliable gear/clothing that will last for years to come. My husband especially loves their 100% thick cotton, long sleeve pull-on shirts he uses when it's frigid- and he's had them for a while now and still look good as when I first purchased them. Now that we own a home in the Catskills, this is where we come for clothes that are more neutral- with an almost minimalist feel. But this is also the place to make all your outdoor dreams come true. .

They not only go out of their way to accommodate changing appointments but they are always very professional, helpful and friendly. I stopped by there in late May and fell in love with a used Can Am. Spent a couple of hours chatting about all the changes from larger engine to safety features... so I went home to mull things over and two days later I called them and asked if they'd hold it till Thursday & I'd drop off a deposit. They agreed as Karen said she had a hunch I'd be back. Tom was instrumental in obtaining an extended warranty for me as I am new to Can Am converting from two wheels to three. The Service Dept is top notch too. I've been there twice since June for odds & ends such as hooking up a GPS cradle and adjust the clutch for me and never disappointed. Travis listens to my concerns and works his magic and throughly checks everything & makes adjustments if needed.

This is an actual sole proprietorship in a workd of chain stores, so there's quirky parts to it. But I always find something really cool here and have really interesting conversations with the owner Steven. It feels really good to go into a store, which is actually curated by somebody who's had a lifetime of running retail, so it's not all pre-programmed generic, but filled with interesting things in every little corner.

Hi Steven P or Management,…read more The individual working at the store today is unbelievably rude - no sense of customer service - walked in never looked up from his cellphone to acknowledge anyone. I was looking at a sweater didn't see my size - I continued to carry on in the store because I genuinely love it. Today the back room was covered in open boxes making it very difficult to shop regardless I found a stack of the sweaters (the one I was looking for). The guy working proceeded to yell at me stating they were all out. I said I'm looking for the grey sweater in a large - to which he replied "we don't have grey". I pointed at the stack and I know I'm not color blind but maybe he is, so I said that's grey. He pulled the sweater out and throws it at me! Yes throws it! He was mad he had to get off his seat, his phone and actually work. I put everything down my family and I walked out! Individual working on Thursday 7/27! As a business owner I would like to know how my employees are interacting with customers. This unfortunate situation just pushed me out, I'll take my business somewhere else

I brought it back because it was ghost shifting and I had a "light" crash ... Went to pick up my bike AGAIN after just bringing it there, regardless of the "small" crash the bike was going to have to go back after the initial gear check / repair for $75 because it was (ghost shifting) so regardless it had to go back ... Pick it up for a second time and they over charged me $20 bringing my bill to $120 .... They took the $20 charge off and left my bike repaired with a badly scratched derailleur on it even though I brought a fresh one with no scratches in on the second visit... Not the best experiences, just calling it how it is / was too. I mean who repairs a bike with a fresh hanger but leaves the derailleur looking like shit.. Located in my town but if I don't have to back I won't go back! Spent close two $200 in two repairs and both times left unhappy.. Actually on the first repair I had to bring it back beside for $75 it shouldn't make sounds and should work accordingly, no!?! SUPER UNHAPPY. Now I need to bring it to another bike shop to have the derailleur taken care of and my handle bars wrapped was left looking like shit and when I brought it in I said I had handle bar wrap but no one asked if I was happy or need anything else situated before they went on vacation and before I picked it up. If I opened a bike shop I know I could do better and it starts with BUILDING RAPPORT AND ACTUALLY CARING!
