I recently found two white quartz(?) bookends at $6ea that may seem small- but they're heavy AF. Prior to that, I've found small catch-all trays or other items. The staff is always friendly and willing to answer any of your questions about anything. It's set up very nicely with lots of great items everywhere in all sorts of nooks and crannies displayed on interesting wonderful items. It's also pretty big so you can take your time to walk around and see everything. It's a fun boutique all in all. My friend and I walked in and the girl behind the counter was on her phone the whole time looking down and did not look up once. Ok, that's fine we don't always need a greeting when walking into a shop. However, there are lots of delicate items and I would think you would want to check in to see if the customer has any questions or want to see any of the items that are placed inside the display cases that have to be opened. There was silence until my friend asked if one of the items were vermeil gold or gold plated. She had no idea and was a bit taken aback by the question but then got up and went behind to look at some sort of book. So we figured she must be looking it up. We walk around some more and about a good 20 mins later we come back and ask her did you find out and her response was, "what?" This time I asked the same question and she responds that she doesn't know and she was just looking up prices. We never asked about prices. It was just so weird and obviously apparent she did not care and was not the owner. All I kept thinking was only if the owner knew how she was handling their store. We did end up purchasing items because like I said earlier they have some wonderful items but the customer service, rather lack thereof was just ridiculous.

I figured i'd stop in, leave my lil doggie out front with the hubby and scurry back out. After making the little jaunt to the store, the owner warmly welcomed well behaved dogs! In we go, pup in tow! The "peek" turned out to be an experience that touched all of my senses. So many carefully curated fun, whimsical, & necessary items. I love the fact that the store is appealing to all, but definitely tickled my Gen X senses! If you and your girls want to dress up as Josie and the pussycats for Halloween, you can get that vintage Josie and the pussycats necklace set here. 70s retro devil mask, check! Cat earrings that I just had to get, absolutely! There's a fun downstairs section that's filled with unique and retro things for the home! (Pink princess telephone, i'm looking at you!) There's a stylist onsite Friday and Saturday in case you need help crafting the perfect outfit for something specific, but any day you are going to find high quality clothing that fits a variety of body shapes and sizes. Because the designers are not massive scale productions I can occasionally find myself fitting into an XS and sometimes a L. I'm 5'7" and normally wear a M. Basically it is in part about your personal style and the fit you are seeking. I love that the color scheme is mainly in the black, grey, cream, white category with a little color splashed throughout. No Sugar is about not being about all the pop cultures splashes and instead brings classy (often European) designers that you can't find in many stores to the Village of Rhinebeck. I've seen teens and mature women shopping in the same place with no one coming out looking too young or too old. From linen staples, to cozy cashmere winter wear, to silk loveliness I prefer this boutique.
