I had my wallet stolen. The thief tried to make purchases on three of my cards Two transactions were declined while the third went through(it was a brand new card so they let the purchase slide). Then the thief tried to make another purchase on the same card and it was denied. The whole time, no attempt was made to authenticate the identity of the user. When I found out and went to the store, all they did was tell me to file a police report. Three, no, four attempts. Maybe the manager is getting a kickback from local thieves. read more

Not too long ago, Fulton Mall (which is a non-vehicular street..bike/ped, bus ONLY) boasted THREE Footlocker stores in the space of three blocks. Plus there was a Modell's and a bunch of smaller retail stores for gear. Price and selection were great, and the three anchoring Footlockers are what made it all work. It was kind of a footwear mecca for this part of Brooklyn. You could enjoy all that Footlocker service and focus ...in triplicate! Buying a new pair of $80 sneakers is a serious purchase you don't want to fumble. What you used to be able to do is bounce from store to store, examining the inventory of one-or-the-other, and taking advantage of small price differences. The staff at each store competed with each other for sales. No longer so. Today, Fulton Street Mall (non-vehicular, remember) has a 'Kid's Footlocker' (useless) and only one bonafide Footlocker left which in any way resembles a traditional Footlocker with an emphasis on sports. The remaining member of the original trio, this ('former') Footlocker-- which I'm describing in this review--is now a 'FootACTION' store. Somehow, this store is still part of the Footlocker company; but its like the berserk twin/bad sister of FootLocker. 'FootACTION' is not about sports footwear. Its about fashion footwear. Its about 'showing off'. The interior of the new store reflects this. FootACTION is too cool for the 'dorky', stodgy, humdrum, white-wood panel walls and putting-green aesthetic of the standard Footlocker. Walls lined with rows and rows of sneakers? For people to buy? That's much too 'obvious'. FootACTION is really a discotheque. Neon lights, lasers, mirrors, dry ice, holographic projections. Half the store is something called, 'House of Hoops' with massive posters of the smirking (has-been) Kobe Bryant presiding over all this. Its a Broadway musical, not a store. Selection and variety in sneaker choices is 1/3 of what it once was. Its a shocking waste of time to browse this store. Its worthless. There's maybe 30 pairs of sneakers in the whole place. What the store is filled with is gawkers, people who come here to 'hang out' and wander around, and talk-with-their-friends. Listen, Footlocker. Why abandon your mission? Why do you not play to your identity anymore? Active people need to replace their sneakers every three months. You've forsaken us, left us with one measly, insufficient Footlocker; and instead sold out to the posers and feebs who need to be glamorous, who care about stylin an' profilin' and 14-yr-old kids who 'absolutely must wear' Kobe's sneaker line. Not the best footlocker store out here. It's close to where I live so I checked it out. Pretty "ghetto", not enough shoe sizes, dirty. Salespeople don't care what you are doing and you have to search for them to get their attention. I do not recommend. Stick to the Manhattan ones. read more

The staff tends to look busy, but that's them really just goofing around with each other. If there's a manager, he or she definitely blends in because it seems like no one here is ever really in charge. It's really only the cashiers that are working. Very small Footlocker with limited selection of sneakers. I went here because its very close to my apartment and I wanted to get a pair of New Balance running shoes. I was the only one in the store. There 3 salespeople and a security guard. They all were hovering around me. I prefer to shop on my own and only want a salesperson to help me if I ask. Even though I told the salesman to back off he stood right by me the whole time which felt kind of awkward. It also made me feel pressured to make a decision quickly. I found a pair of New Balance which I really like. Will definitely return to Footlocker, just not this one. read more

A very special friend of mine bought me new running shoes and shipped them from California to my home in NYC. Unfortunately the shoes where not me at all - pink & very uncomfortable. So, instead of freaking out I was relieved to see that he had included the receipt just in case they didn't fit. I was able to try on a variety of shoes before I settled on a pair of Nike's which happened to be on sale. I walked out with new shoes and $10 cash in my pocket ! Awesome! Clean and organized store. They don't have a really wide range of basketball sneakers because it's a small store but they carry some nice running shoes. They carry new era fitted caps, nike clothing which some are on sale for a pretty low price, and socks. The staff here is very well trained. The manager is very helpful guy. Everyone here is professional with their work. The staff here are well mannered. Some of the other Footlocker's I've been to, I always encounter the rude ones who sound like they just wanna hustle you with sneaker cleaners, insoles, and all that junk. This Footlocker in Seaport is similar to the one in Bay Terrace. Small store, small staff, friendly and helpful. read more
