Stopped here on our way out of town for our anniversary. We were so happy we did. Our burgers were oustanding! Three options for meet we had the highest end and were super happy. This was my favorite for food and atmosphere until this Friday evening. We had the pan-fried walleye. I had only taken a couple of bites out my walleye, when my friend started choking on the fish scales. Although I did not taste any fish scales in my two bites, just looking at the scales on the other plate, along with the bones it took my appetite away, so I took my fish home. Tonight I attempted to eat the leftover fish and I also found scales - lots of them. When I examined the fish closely, I noticed that the skin was still on the fish and the scales were still on the skin. Needless to say, the fish went into the garbage. I will probably go back to Foolery's because I love the deck overlooking the lake, but I will never order fish again. Next time, it will definitely be another menu item. read more

Went there last Friday to try their fish fry. Very good. I ordered the pan fried walleye which was awesome! They even serve potato pancakes. My husband ordered the fish fry (cod) which I tried. Nice big piece not too greasy. Have always enjoyed this place despite years of horrible service. I believe the new owners/managers have changed it around. Worst service I've ever had in my life. I went there for lunch with my sister, dad, and stepmom. They forgot one of our meals and then it took an hour to get it to our table after the "rushed" the order. The wait staff was young and unprofessional. There was not a manager on duty to address the issue so another waiter came by to "explain" how they were just busy and that they'd get our meal to us when they could. When we were getting ready to leave (and NEVER come back) our waiter came back to our table and told us we were being the c word. The median age of the people working there was probably 20-22. In 24 but I would NEVER talk like that to ANYONE let alone my dad and stepmom who are both 50+. We also had other issues that are hard to explain, but moral of the story is we will not be returning. read more

I have been to this bar a handful of times. I would say it's customer service is awful and unprofessional. During the summer of 2015 I was there around 4pm on a Thursday and my food was terrible. I even sent to back to the kitchen. The last time I was there, i was there for an event or a fundraiser. Was inside for maybe a total of 30 minutes before a bar brawl broke out. I am now writing my review because they have an upcoming event where they are offering to serve "camel meat" and also get a ride on top of a real live camel. This is disgusting to me. Seemed like a very nice place at first, loved that we could sit outside and face the water as we ate dinner. However, service was terrible. Took a long time to get a server and rarely saw our server once we got one. Food was good, however it made me wake up in the middle of the night with food poisoning. Foolery's is in the absolute perfect location right on Okauchee Lake. Parking here is scarce and it's by far the most popular place to land your boat. There's several parking for boats to come up which is probably half the people that come here. Inside is pretty loud, several TVs, an area for live music and good beers on tap. When I was there, there wasn't that many people inside but it was still very loud. It's a very energetic / lively atmosphere. Outdoors they have a beautiful deck raised above the dock area. By the dock there are picnic tables in the sand that you can also eat at. I came here for a drink before a boat ride, but then later decided to come here to grab food too. You would think that for a place with such a perfect location, the food would suck. But that wasn't the case, at all. I had a Buffalo Chicken Wrap and it was very good. Despite being short-staffed, the service wasn't terrible either. The prices weren't bad, especially for Oconomowac. I'd definitely go here again, for food, or for a fun time at the bar. P.S. They even have an obnoxiously over-sized lawn chair (just like AJ Bombers) if you're into that. read more

Notice most of the good reviews are not recent. The service and attention here has been on a continuing decline since last summer. I just walked out after 10 min of watching people walk past me. No greeting from of any of the 6 people standing within 5 feet of me...half of which were texting on their phone. This is the second time in less than 3 months. It's always taken a long time to eat here, but it's declined even further now. The food and soups here are terrific but suggest you bypass and go into town if you want decent service. read more

Whatever you do don't order the "prime rib" dip. I believe it may have been old flip flops instead of beef! Told the waitress that the sandwich was not good and she asked "why?" And then proceeded to say a replacement burger would take more than 30 minutes. WTF! While we waited for the burger, which didn't appear even after everyone else was done with their meals; no one came to see how we were doing or if we needed anything else. Unbelievably poor service, price gauging, WEAK drinks and filthy restrooms/surfaces. Wow! Where to start? Brought my out-of-town family members - sister, brother in law and niece there because I remembered they had nice views/ambiance from the deck and it was a sunny Sunday afternoon and my Birthday too! That was the ONLY good thing - the view... Ordered one round of drinks, beer for me, mixed for everyone else. Not too bright waitress brought out 2 drinks and a beer.... OK, maybe she couldn't carry them all at once? Almost 10 minutes later, she finally made her appearance at the other side of the deck and my sister had to physically get up and go over to corral her to ask where our other drink was. She was clueless. Another 5 minutes go by when she finally came over to us with the drink (Tito's vodka and iced tea with now melted ice) and informed us that it had been sitting on the bar and implied that this turn of events was somehow our fault!?! Beer you can't screw up but as soon as everyone tasted their mixed drinks, the looks were exchanged. There was virtually NO detectable alcohol in the drinks! Sugarwater! Not weak, but like I said, no alcohol taste at all! Soooo,we thought, ok, measured shots probably with the measurements waaaay off. A side of chicken wings was ordered too (not bad) so we decided to cut our losses and split. "Check Please" Hahaha, $45.00 !!!!! REALLY??? 3 lame mixed drinks, one tap beer and chicken wing appetizer... Sooo, we take a close look at the bill, charged for DOUBLES! and 4 mixed drinks at that! Oh, waitress!! But wait, no-where to be found AGAIN! Over 5 minutes later, found her in he bar jack-jawing with the other wait staff in the corner and confronted her about the bill. She replies: "Oh, I don't know how that 4th mixed drink got on the bill and we ALWAYS charge DOUBLE prices for the patio orders." REALLY !!??!! So you don't bother to tell the people on the patio about the "DOUBLE" up-charging? Maybe a warning to your potential victims to be prepared to bend over would suffice... just saying... And, if you are going to charge DOUBLE prices, maybe you could include some ALCOHOL in the drinks? Good God, we couldn't get out of there fast enough! What a joke of a rip-joint that place turned out to be! Oh, and did I mention that every surface you touched was filthy/sticky - door handles, surfaces, restrooms. Maybe instead of the slackers on the wait staff huddled in the corner jerking off and ignoring the customers, maybe they could pick up a sponge and a broom... I'm guessing we aren't the only people that were let down that day, in fact we got some sympathetic looks from people at adjacent tables as we suffered through our ordeal. Found this place on accident, and am so glad I did. I was in the area, on business, and decided it was a perfect evening for dinner by a lake. Special was $1 sliders. We ate there Friday for the fish fry. I got the Walleye, and it was not breaded or fried. Definitely not what I expected. Fries got cold almost as fast as the service. The quality and flavor of their food items are very good. However if you ask for normal condiments they charge you for them without ever warning you it's an additional cost. The food was tasty, ordered cheese curds that came out square shaped which was unusual but were good. Entrees were decent and no complaints. I have eaten here on just about every trip to Wisconsin and food is always good and the beer is always cold. Staff is extremely friendly and proactively provide weather reports when you are eating lunch on the patio and a severe t-storm is about 15 minutes away; thanks to the heads up we stayed dry! Put this place on your " Must Try" list this summer. We rode 135 miles to get here, and the trip was well worth it. The location is great but what really sets this place apart from the rest of the pack is the food. The menu is diverse and has something for everyone. Our group are serious carnivores. We went with either the Scottish Highlander Beef or Bison burgers. Both are lean and flavorful choices. I also want to point out that the service was excellent. Friendly, Fast and Attentive. I went to Fooleries a few months back and quite enjoyed myself. Recently, I took a group of friends there as we were looking for a different place for a fish fry. Boy, the difference in experiences was shocking. We were shoved near the speakers and when I asked if we could move to the quieter section, our waitress said no because the bouncers like to sit back there. Really. Our waitress was a complete ditz and we wondered what she was on because she couldn't seem to remember anything from one side of the table to the next. I had the fish fry and it was ok. Nothing special. I've definitely had better and, for that matter, better priced at other places in the area. The most shocking event though was when someone in our group, who also ordered a fish fry, noticed that half of the crust of her rye bread was covered IN MOLD! MOLD!!!! Unbelievable!
