If I could leave a zero, I would. It took two hours to get our food, we ate with no drinks. Not even water. Were told it would be 30 more minutes after one hour for our food. Asked if we can get something for the young kids as they have not eaten and it has been over an hour. She said we could get some chips. After 30 minutes she said it would be less than five minutes. 20 minutes later we asked to see a manager and angry that the other tables have come and gone since we ordered and the kids are past hungry. She said we could've ordered them an appetizer to come out quicker which we had been told only chips. When question the waitress she said it wasn't her fault and walked away. Manager gave an excuse and offered drinks which we never got. I'll end this by saying we have been here over a dozen times and though service has never been great we are pretty easy going and understanding. No more. What a nightmare for the second time this summer.... Last Saturday for my Wife's birthday, we decided on Foolery's. You can't argue against the ambiance and the scenery. Just magnificent. BUT! For the second time this summer, the service was simply horrible, nay... pathetic. We sat down at 6:30pm. 3 people. We were told the kitchen is backed up an hour. Ok. Ordered drinks. Fine. Ordered an Appetizer. Fine. At 7 we ordered dinner. Nothing fancy, my wife and her friend both ordered wraps, I had the Mahi- Mahi. Pretty simple. At 45 minutes, we were looking at our watches... nothing. Hour and fifteen minutes. Nothing. Now the deck wasn't overly crowded. And I went to the bathroom and the inside wasn't very crowded either. I was puzzled. I peaked in the kitchen and saw some cook dancing away in there. Hmmmmmm. Our waitress came by said we were next up at 8:20pm. Still nothing...another half hour... nothing. It was approaching almost 9 when we were gonna just bag it and hit Culver's. Finally the food came. The wraps were fine, my Mahi was cold. And everyone else on the deck was getting the same crappy service. Some people left. We will not be back anytime soon. read more

When I was growing up, a friend's family owned this bar - so it was a real trip to be back in the building during a recent trip to Okauchee. This definitely does seem to be one of the most popular places in the area. When you order a drink, you get to choose a ticket out of a hat to determine if your beer is full priced or discounted. We didn't have great luck, but it was fun all the same. We stopped in early on a Thursday night, but wow! The place was pretty hopping when we left around 7pm or so. The servers were friendly, and the clientele was too. Can't say much for the food as we only got an order of the broccoli, but the beer and service were great! read more

This place was once a great time and so much fun, but under new ownership it's really just a joke. Racist, lazy, prejudice, and judgmental is now the vibe. Never go on Friday during the day, you'll be highly disappointed with the service. There's NO reason you should have to ask for the same drink 3-4 times! Fish fry burnt! I was only still supporting this place for the friends I've made there but it's very obvious that they don't want a certain "kind" at their establishment, as someone even told me that I must be "lost" there. Love this location for outdoor seating and docking. Seven of us met for lunch. Service was good. We were looking forward to another great Ruben sandwich but we were very disappointed. Not what it use to be. The nice sliced corned beef was replaced by inferior corned beef that was cubed. So wrong! Also the nacho chips were stale. What an amazing find in Foolery's Liquid Therapy. Go for the view, stay for the food. The quality and service is top-notch! I had a fabulous adventure with a new friend that included a stop here on the 4th of July. We were exploring Lake Country and looking for a place to eat lunch. It was a gorgeous day and we put the convertible top down, enjoying the stunning views and each other's company. We gasped, looking at how busy the place was, but amazingly found an immediate pair of seats on Foolery's deck overlooking the waterfront. It was the place to be! Sitting where we did enabled us to mostly block out how busy it was, and focus on each other and the view. Nice. My friend is very health conscious and was delighted to notice that the menu emphasized mostly grass-fed, locally-sourced meats. The beef came from Erin and was new to him, so it was a find. Bonus! He ordered The Monster, a mile-high sandwich with the beef, ham, a fried egg, cheese, mushrooms, onion straws and a pretzel bun. It delivered on its name - it was a tower that he attacked, feverishly disassembling and enjoying with relish. I enjoyed a grilled salmon sandwich. It was a healthy portion of perfectly cooked salmon, nicely charred and flaky yet tender and moist to eat. It came on a brioche bun with a side of homemade lemon-garlic aioli, cole slaw and house-made potato chips that were thick and crunchy. So good with fresh lettuce, tomato and onion. What stops me from giving Foolery's a five-star rating are 3 things - 1) My friend's burger didn't come sans bun as he ordered; 2) my coleslaw was a little brown so it went untouched; and 3) the cleanup crew didn't leave any utensils in the bucket for us so we had to ask. Those minor things aside, we had a delightful visit on one of the busiest days of the year and I'd go back in a heartbeat! read more

You know what? Holy crap! I **love** this place. First of all, they're in the middle of nowhere, and second of all, if you leave here hungry that's your own damned fault. The portions are HUGE and delicious. And that goes for very, very heavy pouring. I asked for a neat pour of rye and I promise you it was at least three ounces. I was not prepared for that. The basket of "fries" which consists of fries, sweet potatoes, or tots, is more than enough to feed two, and it sets you back $5. The wings, which are fried but not breaded, are delicious. I had Bourbon sauce and my wife had honey mustard. With drinks, the damage came to $44. We will definitely be back. Cheers! read more

If I could pick a bar to live down the road from it would be Foolery's. Luckily I do live down the road from Foolery's. Great food from Chef Jerry, awesome bartenders/staff, cheap drinks. Summertime is always going off being right on the water so boat parking is tough some days. This place is the face of Okauchee Lake. Bryant has done a great job here. Hubby and I stopped in on a Monday evening for dinner and were impressed with the food! He had the All American burger with fried onions. Very generous size of burger, cooked to a perfect medium and delicious! I had the shredded chicken tacos and was very pleasantly surprised that they were so good! Salsa was served in-single use plastic cup and probably came from a jar. I know this is to keep portions controlled but it bugs me that I used (3) of these cups with lids for (2) tacos. Service was very good. Loud atmosphere although there was a light crowd. Kind of hard for my husband to tolerate with his hearing aids. read more

Was there over 4th of July weekend. It is a fabulous lake bar so plan for a little longer to receive your food. Order food right away and have a couple of rounds and enjoy the view. As a wing lover I always look for that perfect mix of flavor and heat. This place nailed it with inferno wings. Not too hot not too lame and crispy AF. We got curds and Rangoon and they were also amazing. Bloody Mary was good with typical garnishes. The beer could be colder they were all cool at best and we had miller light blue moon and spotted cow. Nothing was cold so that is the reason for 4 stars need to get that beer chilled. Upgrades all around... New and updated patio is very nice along with the complete over haul of the menu. Menu has a great selection of sandwiches and apps, but burgers rule the day here. The burgers choices are vast and eclectic with a great twist of being able to select from three locally sourced proteins of beef, pork, and buffalo. Beef is grass fed ! We ordered moz sticks, wings, jalapeño poppers, fries and 4 of the burgers. Aside from mix ups on the food due in part from being served food from those other than our server and delay from it.... Food was good. Staff is much more efficient than before to include a nice compliment of buyers to expedite table turns. read more

Purely from a patio perspective on a beautiful July day, so please do not take this review for the inside restaurant space - we didn't even go inside! The service was very pleasant and extremely accommodating to a fairly particular crowd - in comes grandma demanding cherries in her iced tea. The patio was a beautiful spot with a lot of space and there were shade umbrellas that kept us out of the sun. The view from the patio is the beautiful Okauchee Lake and there are ducks waddling around on the patio and by the little beach. I ordered a delicious Wisconsin style brandy old fashioned sour with an olive which was in a plastic cup but tasted just the way an old fashioned should. Our table mainly ordered the brisket sandwich which was a steal, since it was the special of the day (on Mondays). Tons of food, amazing homemade chips and delicious mouthwatering brisket. I ordered the pan fried walleye, as I was feeling nostalgic and wanted a taste of home (hence the fresh fish and old fashioned combo - along with some Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy to finish it off). The fish is not breaded but has this amazing salty rub that is fantastic. And just like any good fish fry would it had marbled rye bread, potatoes, coleslaw and tarter on the side, which was much more than I could take down in one sitting. So if you are looking for a summer hang out with a beautiful view and a lovely patio, this is a great choice! Inside looks a little less pleasant, however again, I can't judge as we did not step foot inside. read more

My family and I have been a few times over the last couple of years and have had great food and great experiences. The first time we stopped there for wing night for my birthday which I was treated to a free beer! Wings were great with homemade sauces and dry rubs. The wait staff was friendly and checked back often. We then stopped back this past Monday after a bad experience at Kick Switch (waited over 20 minutes and never was greeted). We were greeted immediately and a waitress took our drink order right away. Great selection of craft beer both on tap and in bottles and cans! The waitress handed us menus and a specials sheet of paper. The specials were great one offs that were creative and gave you the impression that the chef was able to "do his or her thing". I had the brisket sandwich while my wife had the chicken salad croissant and my son got wings. Everything was very good and we will be going back when we are in the area. read more

Well, Foolery's nails it on all counts. Being located at the west end of Ocauchee lake in Lake country Wisconsin, this classic lakeside bar has the most flavorful, creative homemade soups you'll ever taste. Get the soup sampler, which when available, includes a cup of 3 different soups. Their cheese curds (cubes of gooey yumminess) are the best EVER. Sandwiches like the beef brisket and wraps are awesome and enough to feed two, but without a large price tag. Drinks are well made and priced to sell. Order a br a ndy old fashioned. You'll get a pint size glass with plenty of brandy or bourbon. Overall, I can't say enough about Foolery's. Make sure you stop by in the summer. They have the best outdoor deck that's right on the lake. Plus the seats are very comfortable. The perfect way to enjoy a summer day in Wisconsin. read more

We wanted a place were we could eat by the water and this was just what we wanted. Unfortunately it started to rain right after we got there but there was plenty of room inside for everyone to sit. The waitress was friendly and nice and . My husband had the beef sandwich with onions and mushrooms and peppers he found quite delicious I had the brisket sandwich which was also very good. They had a little problem with my gin and tonic but they were able to fix it on the third try. This place reminds me of the Clearwater Harbor in Waupaca, WI. The food is good, the atmosphere is great. I love sitting in the sunshine near the water. However, the day I chose to try this place, we sat near a couple of tables of "locals" and employees that were off the clock.
