We did try to catch them ourselves, but they weren't biting! LOL. Instead of going out to eat at a restaurant, I suggested we do a takeout order to be able to take our time and fully enjoy at home. Years ago, we had the crabs at a restaurant and it took me HOURS to pick them! I think my brother-in-law felt bad (and the rest of the family was getting impatient) and started picking the last few for me, because it was taking soooooo long! He suggested we go to Crab Knockers, a local seafood shop that sells fresh seafood, but that also cooks it for you! Inside, they have old arcade games with a fishing themed decor. They have a case full of seafood with a combo of locally sourced and brought in from other places. The shop was quite busy with a steady flow of patrons. We got 2 dozen blue crabs, steamed with J.O. seasoning (medium spice) and it came out to roughly $60! It took about 20-25 minutes or so. When we got home, we got right to work. My brother-in-law showed me the proper way Marylanders (is that the proper term?) and I think I got the hang of it by the 3rd crab hahaha. Even my oldest managed well! Crabs were delicious! Some claws were a little overcooked, but that's just the nature of seafood and takeout. The body meat was perfect! There is a lot of work for these little guys, but it fed me and my oldest as our only dinner and a few other family members who ate one or two. We even had enough crab meat for two crab cakes for breakfast the next day! I highly suggest checking them out. It's less expensive and less work in terms of cooking (and mess)! I'll definitely ask for crabs again next time we visit! Enjoy and go out and support!

Crabs were cooked within 20 min of me placing the order, crabs seasoned generously with J.O., and they were cooked perfectly. The crabs weren't wet like some other establishments. Crabs were fat and full of eggs! And if you know me and my family, and majority of Asians, we LOVE our eggs! Wait, what?! Crab meat was sweet, eggs and crab buttah tasty...what more can you ask. There's several seafood markets in St. Mary's county and I'll be putting Crabknockers on the top of my list whenever I need a crab/seafood fix in the future. I will definitely be spending my hard earned cash here in the future. Highly recommended! Check them out, you won't be disappointed. Oh, they sell snakehead fillets, too! YEAH!

Just when I thought I had enough gifts and snack to bring home to the islands, my luggage said I had space for more! What does that mean and meant going back for more goodies! The store was neat and had everything that I looked for. The staff were also very friendly. In regard to parking, I'm not sure if any parking is available. The next time I'm in DC and in the area, I'm definitely heading back!

When I decided to take a chance one late afternoon to buy chicken thighs and the shelf was empty. The crew does not appear to restock frequently when this happens. This is an issue at other local Trader Joe's, but the checkout line wraps well around the store if you come on a busy day. When the store is stocked and you can move freely around the aisles, it is a great experience. Despite it being smaller than other stores, I still find what I need a majority of the time. Other items like a graham cracker pie crust or tartar sauce I have to go to a larger grocery store. The staff is friendly every time I'm there as well. It is always a pleasant and smooth checkout experience!

I think I'm still a fan of the Bowie one but that's probably because there's more snack foods lol. Outside of that this location has everything you need and you can make your own Nut butter in the store. There's a variety of things to try out. From water to bread and hummus to smelling the aroma of essential oils through an oil diffuser. Really nice and spacious place. The workers are very friendly as well and they don't like to keep buying customers waiting. They'll call someone up to the front register if there's 3 or more people in one line! Talk about great service. They also have a place to recycle old phones. A compost and they credit you 10 cents for using your own bag or no bag. Pretty great place. And prices can be a hit or miss. Smaller on the inside than I imagined but the variety of goods being offered were vast. The produce prices are higher and many of their items are organic and have scrutiny on the contents. This is for your betterment and you can find deals with the different signage throughout the store. Set up like any other supermarket, there is more selection of good for you food with less preservatives and dyes. When time to check out, the lines move quickly and the cashier was helpful, pleasant and efficient. I would recommend this store for others and plan to return in the future for more niche items.
