I have wanted to try this taco truck on Mc Henry @ the gas station. I ordered a chicken, carnitas, and 2 al pastor taco's. It may be a personal preference, but I like my taco meat cooked/charred on the grill. The carnitas and al pastor were like stew meat. I am not sure if it was to be pico de gallo but more watery chopped tomatoes. Which meant a soggy taco. The chicken one was soo dry, I gave the meat to my cat. When I ordered at the window, they barely said a word, and the window just closed. I noticed many food items listed on the truck that looked interesting weren't available and crossed out. I was going to go back up to the window and ask, but they or whomever didn't seem friendly. When my food came, window opened, food pushed out, window closed. Went there on Saturday when some friends wanted to try out the Grub Hub. I got the asada fries (I think they're the Fonzi Fries on the menu) and man oh man, they were delicious. I've been having a hard time finding great asada fries in Modesto so this was a blessing. The flavor of everything was excellent, and man they give you a lot of it. Fries were fresh too, I saw them dump them straight out of the fry basket into the container. Prices were good too, especially considering the quality and quantity. Employees were nice and helpful as well. I didn't have a lot of questions, but what ones I did have they answered well and helped a lot. Service was pretty quick too. This place is great, honestly worth the drive downtown. Wish they had one closer to center Modesto. read more

A friend recommended this taco truck. I went with my kids and let me tell you they ignored me for about 5 minutes or more. There was a younger girl and an older lady I thought maybe they didn't see me but noooo the young girl gave me eye contact and not once did she say, I will be right with you or anything. I was going to both windows for someone to acknowledge me and they did not. But as soon as a caucasian male came to the window ohhhh they acknowledge him and were so pleasant. I've been coming to Fonzis since 2015 when he was in the tile shop parking lot on carver/9th. Their food is always on point and their staff is hella cool. Fonzi's himself is a great guy very humble. 03/30/21 I came in today with my brother and my girlfriend ordered an al pastor super burrito no onions , asada super burrito no oinions and 2 shrimp tacoz. I am extremely disgusted and disappointed with the food i have been served to me my family and my pregnant girlfriend. We have been coming to your taco truck for years driving from manteca to modesto, amd now turlock to modesto to get your delicious food we have come to love, But i have to say the past 3 times we have gone food has not tasted right salsa is weird consistency and no longer hot , food is extremely greasy and very oily and just plain disgusting. My shrimp tacoz were inconsistent 1 taco had 3 shrimp on it which i believe is the correct serving i get them all the time, and 1 only had 1 shrimp with a bunch of coleslaw on top to look appealing. I will no longer be goinv to this Location in the modesto grubhubs parking lot which i am sadden to say because it has become one of my highlights in the week to now a nightmare of stomach problems and wasted hard earned money please fix and make better I am in total shock Honestly. read more

I was in the mood for some good tacos and I saw that the reviews for this place were great. I ordered: one asada taco, one pastor taco, two chicken tacos, and one shrimp taco. I also got a nacho supreme? The nacho chips were stale and salty, I got asada for the meat because I was told it's their more popular meat, and it was very salty. My daughter also found a hair in the nachos. As for the tacos, as stated before, the asada was salty, and the chicken was bland. My daughter wanted to try a shrimp taco, and it was too spicy for her to eat. I came here a couple of times and both times the burritos I had were excellent! Everything inside was fresh. I had asada and grilled chicken and both were juicy :) I also had there super nachos and those might have been better then the burritos lol the ladies inside were courteous and full of smiles. This place was awful. Maybe I came on the wrong day, but service was off and food was not good. When I go to any taco truck, I judge off flavors of salsa and quality of meat. I ordered several tacos, carne, shrimp, and chicken. I could barely taste the salsa , very bland flavors and definitely no kick . They forgot my nachos and I had to remind them. I took two bites of the nachos and threw them away, the chips were super stale and the cheese was gross. Its just chips, throw them away and get fresh ones. Sheesh. They have great reviews , so I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt , I perhaps came on a bad day. Unfortunately I'll never know. I will not be returning. read more
