Food is always great here! I love the way they cook it! It has so much flavor! Highly recommended. Definitely packed and has a line during lunch rush. Expect to wait for 15 to 20 min for food. Even if you order online. I placed an order around 11 for pick up at 12:31. Got there and my food wasn't even ready. waiting for 15 min still. Great food, service was outstanding and the Surf and Turf is exactly what everyone is telling you. Definitely a good spot for more flavor and American flavors as well as traditional. Definitely will eat here again but authentic tacos are still hard to beat. You won't regret a trip here. read more

Nothing special about their food. If you're not a fan of oregano you're not going to like their red sauce, the oregano flavor is overpowering. I would have given more stars however the wait time is ridiculous!! They're SO SLOW!! You can find better food and faster service literally everywhere. Don't waste your time for mediocre food. read more

Second time trying birria tacos here and they did not disappoint!!! They give you a pager to let you know when your food is ready which is extremely convenient, it was really hot today so we waited in the car and didn't have to worry about our missing our order. My husband got some asada fries,love the touch of chipotle sauce! The fries are also waffle fries which gives it a great twist. The only downside was they forgot my consume for my tacos. Every time I visit the 209, David'z has become my go-to taco truck in the area, and it's not even close. The highlights for me continue to be the quesotacos, which are packed with meat, melted cheese, and of course crispy to bite. The crispy part is honestly what makes this taco for me, especially when you add their chipotle sauce. It's so good, that I end up pouring it on everything. On my latest visit, I tried their al pastor street tacos, and my word, these were HELLA GOOD! Probably some of th best street tacos I've had in a really long time. Even when I'm not hungry, I could easily eat 3 of these. At 2.50 each, you can get a full on meal of tacos and a drink for under $15. Definitely recommend trying out this truck if you are in the area. read more

Last night I went to pick up some burritos and tacos to watch during the boxing match. The service was slow, no one was there when I arrived, then shortly after I ordered, people started coming. I noticed 3 people that ordered after me got their food first. I decided to get out of my car and wait in front in case they forgot my order. Then when I finally got called I had asked for a few extra limes, the lady handing me the food said, oh we charge 50 cents....never have I ever had to pay extra for limes!! I understand if it was salsa or some other kind of sauce but limes? Ugh. Idk, maybe I'm being a bit much but the experience was not great last night. read more

This is crazy, I literally drove from home and was put on hold. Mind you I don't live far ( 3 minutes to be exact ). I was just trying to avoid having to wait so I called ahead. The lady asked me immediately to be put on hold waited 15 minutes for her to pick back up the phone and you can clearly see how long I was on the phone and there is NO LINE. Disappointed in their service for sure. And once she picked back up the phone she said are you still there? & I told here I sat in my car waiting for them to pick up and there is literally no line. And she said , " oh okay " and hung up. Like what?! Mind blown in this situation. read more

There's not many places in town that will make a super spicy burrito for a white guy. Usually when a white guy goes up and asked for a super spicy burrito, they put salsa on the side not here. They did a great job burnt the heck out of my mouth perfect burrito. read more

I've tried taco spots all over, and this one tops them all. Every single item on the menu is fire, you seriously can't go wrong. I think I've found my new spot while I'm in Turlock. Turlock has plenty of taco trucks and majority of them offer the same with their own little flare. Here at David's you're not going to be blown away by flare but by consistency. As soon as you walk out the hoopty you automatically feel the vibe. Music playing with your favorite Rancherita y tamborazo. I played it safe ave order a taco de pastor, supreme asada burrito and as I was about to pay I added a late addition, quesebirria with consomé. The taco hit the spot. The burrito was on point, the rice was not dry, beans didn't over flow, it was a good all around balanced burrito. The tortilla was cooked to perfection and the asada was flavorful. One of a hundred taco stands in Stanislaus County. They're all trying hard to distinguish themselves and David'z is doing pretty well. Burrito was good, I like refried instead of whole beans but still tasty. Tacos- - - they grill the tortillas a tad so they don't turn to mush in your hands. STARS for that. Food was oily. Only made me feel nauseous after. If you like your burritos with a crunchy tortilla, this place is not it. Surf and turf tacos were ok. I order 3 burritos, a quesataco and 3 surf n turf. Spent $52 and waited 40 minutes. (Better wear mosquito repellent.)Limited to 2 cups of salsa, anymore and it's extra. We went to see if the hype was real. We drove from Modesto! IT IS! Let me tell you, im from the East Coast and not used to eating Mexican food all the time. But -- I could eat here daily. Service is friendly, helpful and fast. The food is plain old great. I had a al pastor chicano taco ( $3) -- wow. I also had the Carnitas Chalupa ($5) -- another wow. Everyone loved their food. One issue-- no diet soda -- 2 people were diabetic and we had to go to another food truck to get diet soda ($1) I humbly suggest adding that as a convenience for your guests (and to boost sales lost to another vendor) Overall - a great experience. I was craving tacos and David'z came highly recommended. I had no idea it was a food truck until I pulled up to the address. There was plenty of tables to sit at and wait for my food. These tacos were exactly what I was looking for. Crispy, kinda greasy(in a good way), lots of flavorful meat & cheese. I took a bite and knew this place was going to live up to its reviews. I had 1 taco left, it was too good to throw away ... so, I offered it to the homeless guy down the street. I just couldn't let it go to waste. Check out these tacos. Haven't been down to the taco truck since pre-Covid. My previous place across the parking lot from David'z, jacked their prices, and started charging way too much for a side of salsa. I think if you're going to order a meal from a Mexican restaurant, you should at least get a salsa. Not extra but a salsa to eat with your food. Went to David'z today. I would not say it's the healthiest food but for taco truck it's pretty darn delicious. Ordered the queso tacos which were fabulous and a quesadilla supreme. They gave us green salsa, red salsa, and a chipotle salsa no extra charge. Fast and friendly service. Overall a very good deal. You can't compare it to brick-and-mortar, but for a taco truck, it is excellent. read more

The register is actually located further in if you follow the left wall. We ordered: Meat lovers burrito - we opted for birria, al pastor, and chicken as our three proteins. The SO loved that it only took half a burrito to fill him up (usually he will demolish it in one go), so the proportion to the value is reasonable. Chilaquiles burrito - I got this with al pastor and it was so good! There is also an egg prepared in your choice that is thrown in there. I loved that all burritos came with a grilled cheese exterior, adding extra crunch. Chile relleno a la carte - we got this with the salsa verde on the side, and I think that is the move here. They provide you with a pretty big bowl of the salsa and I was able to use this on my burrito as well. Service was really great. Waters were filled and patient when we didn't know to order. I found that we were accidentally charged for the chile relleno meal vs a la carte, and the cashier was able to refund me a few bucks in cash (even though there is a clear sign for patrons to check their order before paying - whoops!). I have been craving returning to Salt and Pepper to try their birria pizza. Will definitely make this a staple after-Costco meal for the future!
