I ordered three different soft tacos and an Agua Fresca. The tacos aren't "street tacos" they come with beans and Pico de Gallo. Food is fresh and has a lot of authentic flavor. I wish there was side salsa for the tacos aside from Pico de Gallo, maybe there is and I just needed to ask, not sure. The asada was by far the best, Al pastor is missing pineapple, and carnitas is dry without a salsa. If you don't want greasy and a nice clean place to eat, this is a nice spot! Full transparency la Taqueria in SF is the best burrito I have had in my life (carne asada super durado style) Seeing the familiar sign had me hyped. I wanted it to be everything that the SF location is, but it just isn't. The only way to describe what is missing is to say two key things. The carne asada in SF has more flavor. Biting into this locations I can slightly taste that familiar flavor coming off the meat, but this one just only gives you a very faint hint it's there. The other missing factor is the creaminess of the burrito. That guacamole in SF felt like heaven. Feels like it is missing entirely in this one despite being physically there. It was odd and made me sad and wish it was the location in SF. Maybe I am a bit harsh because of the letdown, but I judge everyone against the location in SF because again, it's the best ever. 6.2/10 I wouldn't try it again unless desperate. read more

It was cool, they don't skimp out on the meat for sure but for the price you pay I have definitely had better. $12 for a burrito that only had meat and beans? No cheese? Sour cream, lettuce? Nope.. The corn quesadillas didn't really have any cheese it just tasted like a taco with chicken. The grilled beef tacos needed a little more flavor also.. again just meat and pico on the taco or expect to pay more.. the best thing to get here is probably the shredded chicken FLOUR quesadilla but the chicken can taste pretty dry and it's $13. Imagine it's a hot sunny day and you really need a spot to cool down, to eat, and somehow your craving food, well La Taqueria is that place. They sell some of the best burritos and tacos, they serve you with dignity, in fact the minute I went in, i was treated well. Theirs another La Taqueria in San Francisco and that one is always full and even though La Taqueria (from Turlock) wasn't full but the food was still GOATED. And the best part is that their restrooms are always clean, in fact the whole restaurant was very clean. You know what I realized. I had the SF location before but I never had the urge to try the Turlock location. I tried it a long time ago but I went again recently. Honestly, their food is pretty good. I got a super burrito de pollo asado. The pollo was nicely cooked. Juicy but had a nice smokiness to it. I love how they add fresh guac to their tacos, burritos, etc. My one critique is that it's overpriced. My burrito came out to $15 or close, and their aguas frescas are over $5 but the sizes do not match with their prices... This more of a once in a while spend eatery. read more

The lady at the front accommodated and allowed us to do half and half rice and beans. I liked their rice and beans as they weren't overpowering or too salty. There were a lot of meat on tacos. Their prices have increased and they give you less. One example is the avocado. The last couple times I've noticed less avocado in my tacos and they charge almost $2 per taco. I could justify paying the prices before but not when the quantity or quality goes down. Also the service is awful. They made a mistake on my order and didn't realize until I got home. I live across town. I went back and let them know and they were unapologetic and rude. It was the big guy there. So spicy in a good way and I have yet to get a hunk of fat in it. Someone spends the time here treating the ingredients correctly! The price is high at a glance....... However every item is a meal on its own. One Taco is more than enough for the average person. Loaded chips are often shared between the wife and I. This is our Go TO SPOT! My favorite mexican food spot of all time I don't have a spot that beats this place! The staff are so kind, friendly, and helpful! I love the thick chunks of carne asada either in the Quesadilla or Super Burrito the Super Taco is good also just not filling enough for me. The restaurant isn't usually packed when I go after class but sometimes they can get a crowd. The food is usually served pretty quickly but make sure that you grab some salsas from the fridge on the side! The green salsa is good and not spicy the red salsa is a bit more on the spicy side. Everything was very fresh and not over salted, there's salt on the table if you feel it's missing. Chips were crunchy, pico de gallo was chopped super fine so props for the knife skills! The taco was fantastic! Tender, well seasoned carne asada wrapped in both a crunchy and a soft corn tortilla and loaded with sour cream, salsa and guacamole. The horchata was made from scratch as it should be! with a perfect balance of ingredients that brings me back to my childhood. All fresh, all delicious. I've been a customer to La Taqueri since the 70's and have Never had a complaint but last night the Carnitas which La Taqueria is none for were inedible, had to take back, when I asked for a replacement the cook showed me what the rest of the Carnitas looked like, not good ! We were underwhelmed by the hype of best tacos in the area.....they still get a 4 but next time if in the area would get an Al pastor burrito. So we got a carne asada, Al pastor, and lengua tacos. How you treat the tortilla on a taco is a critical part and most places fail at that, this place was no different as they just have tortillas that are quickly put in the grill.. what saved a lower review was the Al pastor was very good. Carne asada was not very good for our taste and my lengua was actually pretty good. They put beans and the sauces where good in the tacos so they were ok but would. It get that again here. This place has really improved. I find myself craving a burrito a lot from here. They are huge and the meat quality is really good. I've been getting the burrito Supreme with carnitas and shrimp, grilled, add rice and a side of grilled onions. Totally hits the spot and I always have some left over for later. It's pricey, but I love that they include avocado and a decent amount of sour cream, where I find taco trucks lacking. The loaded chips are always food and I can get full off of 1 taco! read more

It's run by the same family. You order at the counter. The menu is simple: taco, burrito or over chips. Lots of meat choices including lengua and cabeza. You can order it "super" or "meat only" if you're following a low-carb lifestyle. They also have vegetable only options. I ordered 2 tacos: carnitas and al pastor. Their tacos are HUGE! Big chunks of meat and loaded with beans and salsa. I got them super so that included cheese on the bottom of the taco shell, sour cream and avocado on top. Omg!! They were delicious. I would have gotten a 3rd taco but I was so full.
