After being released from the hospital I had to rely on door dash to bring me food for a few days while I stayed at a care facility in Turlock. I found Mario's and decided to try it. I ordered a super burrito with shredded chicken. It was incredible. It weighed over a pound, I turned it into two meals and it was amazing. Even though it had been delivered it was still piping hot. When I was released from the care facility the first place I went was Mario's. I got a Torta with Carnitas and it was amazing! I'm 51 and have had hundreds of Tortas in my life and that was by far the best I have had. I live in Ceres and there is a Mexican restaurant 50 yards from my house but I will make the drive to Turlock for Mario's for better food and larger portions. Thank you read more

this was the worst Carne Asada burrito I've ever had. The meat was so crunchy and tiny and chewy. It was like chewing little crunchy bits of cereal. They chopped it up so thin and they must've had it on the grill forever because it was all dried out and crunchy. The beans I had refried beans it was like thick thick, thick paste they needed to add water to them that was horrible. I don't know what kind of cheese sauce or something they put on it. They microwaved something and that was terrible. I just wanted regular cheese. I ordered the Carne Asada burrito supreme. I do not recommend it. The food is terrible. I wasted $14. They charged me extra because I wanted extra meat because I was craving Carne Asada. read more

The three stars are solemnly on the food flavors not on the freezing temperature to eat outside during January. Ordered: asada tacos,asada burrito, bean and cheese burrito, asada nacho, and curly fries. The bean and cheese burritos were good. They have creamy cheese which gives it a delicious flavor. The asada burrito is big. I liked the cream in it. The burrito was the supreme burrito which adds sour cream, lettuce and tomato. The asada nacho tastes similar to the burrito except that it has chips . With the tacos we were able to really taste the asada meat and it is reheated which wasn't too bad but you can taste the difference from freshly being cooked. That's a -1 star. The curly fries are yummy. The second - And downfall is the salsa. Not really spicy. I love spicy salsa and if its real Mexican food a spicy salsa has to be available. You have to ask for the grilled onions and chillies which I think should be available to grab on your own. It satisfies a person with the munchies. The food was a rip off. I ordered 9 Quesabirria tacos and they were small each and flavorless with almost no color. Each order of tacos came with 3 and it was $13. They do give you a side of consumé with the orders but it was almost like watery beef broth with a little paprika and not consumé. I also got the asada fries and they were really flavorless. Please save your money there are plenty of other great small businesses to support. My order total was $53. I feel regret after paying that much as a college student and also receiving as little food as I did for the money I payed. This is quite possibly the best all around taco truck in town. The other trucks lack of attention to details make them suffer inconsistencies in taste. I've never gone to Marios and gotten a bad item. Their Fries are homemade handcut (not just from some frozen bag). The tacos are cooked to perfection. Again I wanna mention the technique being used here as he's grilling these at lower temp to preserve moisture. A lot of these other guys in town rely on the grease to quickly cook and get moisture. The asada is the best in town. My wife said she like the chicken from El hidagense 2 on East main better but it was still good. -I think El hidagense has consistency issues. The staff was nice and the truck itself is laid out in a way that you can view every step in the process. read more

This is the best taco truck I know of by a mile. My husband and I have tried almost every taco truck in Turlock and some in surrounding areas, but as soon as we found Mario's we stopped going anywhere else. The meat is always juicy. Sometimes even a little greasy but I will take that over a dry taco any day. If I had one complaint, it would be that they're not always there consistently. But I just call before I go now so it's no problem. I usually get tacos, but I've also gotten a burrito and it's great too. read more

Decided to check this place out today. Nice little taco truck in a public area which makes it visible to drivers. Walked up and the menu was great however; being it Taco Tuesday I decided to try their tacos because since I was craving for it. The tacos came with carne asada, cilantro, grilled onions, carrots, radish and some jalapeno peppers. I was not expecting a whole lot being it my first time at this taco truck. The presentation was great and when I took the first bite I was sold on this taco truck. The tortillas weren't too crispy but they were cooked just right. However I ordered a burrito the other day and was so disappointed when I bit into what tasted like canned pinto beans and precooked rice. And by precooked I mean it was almost like that round rice pilaf rice you cook from a box. It was definitely not regular homemade Spanish rice. We used to drive here weekly from Modesto but lately food hasn't been the same. For the last few months, food has been very inconsistent. Always different people in there cooking now. Meat is a lot fattier. Tortillas are barely even cooked. They used to be somewhat crispy and we even asked for them crispy last night (knowing they are inconsistent) and they came out oily and soggy. My ceviche tostada was swimming in the liquid in the container. I've never had that happen. It's a very hit and miss now. Too pricey to go and wonder if your food will be good this time. read more
