Surf and Turf, Pastor, and Chicken Tacos
Mike L.

Great food, service was outstanding and the Surf and Turf is exactly what everyone is telling you. Definitely a good spot for more flavor and American flavors as well as traditional. Definitely will eat here again but authentic tacos are still hard to beat. You won't regret a trip here.

Super Veggie Burrito

This place hits every time! We're vegetation and we love all of the veggie options at David'z Tacos. Everything tastes fresh and delicious. We're really impressed with this spot and will be coming more often while driving thru Turlock. 10 out of 10!

This is crazy, I literally drove from home and was put on hold. Mind you I don't live far ( 3 minutes to be exact ). I was just trying to avoid having to wait so I called ahead. The lady asked me immediately to be put on hold waited 15 minutes for her to pick back up the phone and you can clearly see how long I was on the phone and there is NO LINE. Disappointed in their service for sure. And once she picked back up the phone she said are you still there? & I told here I sat in my car waiting for them to pick up and there is literally no line. And she said , " oh okay " and hung up. Like what?! Mind blown in this situation.

've never written a review before, but this taco truck is that good, I had to! Every time I'm in Turlock, I make it a priority to stop here. I've tried taco spots all over, and this one tops them all. Every single item on the menu is fire, you seriously can't go wrong. The service is always friendly, and they even have seats if you want to eat there. If you haven't tried this place yet, you are truly missing out. Trust me, you won't regret it!

Asada burrito

I think I've found my new spot while I'm in Turlock. Turlock has plenty of taco trucks and majority of them offer the same with their own little flare. Here at David's you're not going to be blown away by flare but by consistency. As soon as you walk out the hoopty you automatically feel the vibe. Music playing with your favorite Rancherita y tamborazo. I played it safe ave order a taco de pastor, supreme asada burrito and as I was about to pay I added a late addition, quesebirria with consomé. The taco hit the spot. The burrito was on point, the rice was not dry, beans didn't over flow, it was a good all around balanced burrito. The tortilla was cooked to perfection and the asada was flavorful. Now the birria was good. I wouldn't say it rocked my taste bud but it was satisfying. The tortilla had a nice crisp to it. Good size . Good presentation.

Nicely toasted Super Burrito. Foil wrapped for easy munching.

It was ok. They put a sauce in the burrito that isn't very good. Kinda sweet and Smokey. I probably won't be going back.

I ordered a super burrito with shredded chicken. It was incredible. It weighed over a pound, I turned it into two meals and it was amazing. Even though it had been delivered it was still piping hot. When I was released from the care facility the first place I went was Mario's. I got a Torta with Carnitas and it was amazing! I'm 51 and have had hundreds of Tortas in my life and that was by far the best I have had. I live in Ceres and there is a Mexican restaurant 50 yards from my house but I will make the drive to Turlock for Mario's for better food and larger portions. Thank you

They chopped it up so thin and they must've had it on the grill forever because it was all dried out and crunchy. The beans I had refried beans it was like thick thick, thick paste they needed to add water to them that was horrible. I don't know what kind of cheese sauce or something they put on it. They microwaved something and that was terrible. I just wanted regular cheese. I ordered the Carne Asada burrito supreme. I do not recommend it. The food is terrible. I wasted $14. They charged me extra because I wanted extra meat because I was craving Carne Asada.

We picked up food from a fast food location for our daughter (very limited menu for her) and hoped that Salt and Pepper would be ok with us bringing it in. Thankfully they were very accommodating! It was a quiet time and other than someone picking up a to-go order it was just us in the restaurant. We ordered the birria pizza and a side of chips and salsa. Portion size of the "pizza" was huge so we were only able to eat a little bit but took the rest home. The "pizza"/quasi-quesadilla was filled with juicy meat and had all the fixins on top. Overall y it was very tasty. The chips and salsa were good too.

Located in the same parking lot as Costco in Turlock, Salt and Pepper serves amazing Mexican food. I really wished we walked into these doors earlier in life! This is one of the only taquerias I've found that does chilaquiles... and chilaquiles burritos! The inside is quite small, with two tables and two drink fridges in the forefront. The register is actually located further in if you follow the left wall. We ordered: Meat lovers burrito - we opted for birria, al pastor, and chicken as our three proteins. The SO loved that it only took half a burrito to fill him up (usually he will demolish it in one go), so the proportion to the value is reasonable. Chilaquiles burrito - I got this with al pastor and it was so good! There is also an egg prepared in your choice that is thrown in there. I loved that all burritos came with a grilled cheese exterior, adding extra crunch. Chile relleno a la carte - we got this with the salsa verde on the side, and I think that is the move here. They provide you with a pretty big bowl of the salsa and I was able to use this on my burrito as well. Service was really great. Waters were filled and patient when we didn't know to order. I found that we were accidentally charged for the chile relleno meal vs a la carte, and the cashier was able to refund me a few bucks in cash (even though there is a clear sign for patrons to check their order before paying - whoops!). I have been craving returning to Salt and Pepper to try their birria pizza. Will definitely make this a staple after-Costco meal for the future!
