Unfortunately, my experiences with the service department since then have left me feeling like being a returning customer doesn't count for much. A recent experience really summed it up for me. I brought my vehicle in for a repair covered under my extended warranty and was required to pay the $100 deductible, which I understand and accept. However, I was then told that small trim clips were excluded from coverage and would cost roughly $14 each. These are inexpensive plastic clips, and in this case it's entirely possible one could have broken simply while the trim panel was being removed during service. Regardless, after purchasing a vehicle here and spending significant additional money on extended warranty and service coverage, being nickel-and-dimed over something this minor leaves a very poor impression. The issue isn't really the cost of a few clips. It's the principle and the overall customer experience. Something that small would have been an easy opportunity for the dealership to take care of a returning customer and build loyalty. Instead, it accomplished the opposite. Based on my experience, I would not recommend purchasing the extended warranty or service plans without carefully reviewing every exclusion and understanding exactly what will and will not be covered. I also don't plan to return to Folsom Lake Ford for service or for my next vehicle purchase. Losing a long-term customer over a few plastic clips seems incredibly shortsighted, but that's ultimately how this experience left me feeling.

Even if she was just being kind, I still appreciated it. It showed how much she cares about making customers feel comfortable and valued. When she reviewed my service history, she noticed that I had gone a long time without bringing the car in and had missed several important Mazda maintenance intervals. Still, she stayed completely professional and simply recommended the services I had missed without making me feel bad about it. I honestly appreciated that. She explained everything so calmly and kindly that it felt more like a helpful suggestion than a lecture. Everyone there worked diligently and professionally, but never in a cold or robotic way. They showed genuine warmth and hospitality, which made me feel at home and like I was being taken care of. I honestly can't remember the last time I felt this satisfied after visiting a dealership. The mechanics also did a great job taking care of my car. I think one of them may have been Sam. They sent me a detailed video, about 2 minutes and 45 seconds long, explaining the overall condition of the car. What I really liked was that they used plain English instead of a lot of mechanic jargon, so it was easy to understand what needed attention soon. They also fixed everything I asked about, including a rear wiper arm that kept dangling and the rear trunk interior light. After the service, the car drove so smoothly that it honestly felt close to brand new again. Lastly, when they returned my car, they had cleaned it so well that I was genuinely amazed. I hadn't even asked for the interior to be cleaned, but they did it anyway and made it look fresh again. My car is about 8 years old, and there had been some old Coca-Cola residue in the small gaps around the gear area that had left a brownish stain. I had tried scraping it off myself before without much success, so I really appreciated the extra care they put into cleaning it up. Thank you, Mazda Elk Grove. I'll definitely be coming back more often for my car's maintenance.

He was condescending and patronizing, even drawing silly diagrams to explain the car buying process as if we were children. We've purchased a home before, we can surely understand how buying a car works. We asked to look at the cars on the lot, but he refused, claiming they don't keep new cars there. Which I knew wasn't true because my parents purchased a new Mazda from there two years ago. Whether it was a misunderstanding or simply an unwillingness to help, it left a very poor impression. Luckily, we knew what car we liked & when we tried to negotiate, something that is completely normal when buying a car, he immediately seemed offended. There's nothing wrong with having a budget and trying to stick to it as much as possible. But how about being an actual car salesman and taking us to the lot & show us the different tiers or similar models? After all, we were ready to buy that day. The final straw came when he suggested we go somewhere else and look at used cars, strongly implying that we couldn't afford a new one. We may have looked tired because we'd spent the entire day in the heat visiting dealerships however, judging customers based on their appearance is unprofessional and a terrible way to treat potential buyers. My husband and I got up and walked out because of how disrespectful the interaction had become. He couldn't even be bothered to look up from his computer or apologize. The next day, we went to Roseville Mazda and bought a brand new car. Elk Grove Mazda lost a sale because they judged us instead of treating us with respect. Mostly Tesla's and yes they sell used Tesla's here sometimes, but not that much! There's basically NO CHANCE of getting a charger here unless you come first thing in the morning. They DON'T PUT LIMITS on charging so people, including THEIR EMPLOYEES, are literally hogging the charger all day long. About 2(?) years or so ago, Nissan of Elk Grove along with Mazda of Elk Grove were sold by previous owner John Driebe to a new owner who's running it as a family so this is technically still a "Mom & Pop" business if there's such a thing in the auto sales and service industry. Anyhow it seems some good things have been maintained (clean waiting areas, friendly service, some attentive and polite staff (a few are very nonchalant), and free car wash for those who bought their car here). There have been new improvements and "innovations" too such as the coffee drinks machines at both dealerships as mentioned in previous review. The car wash was upgraded about a year or 1.5 years ago or so. Thus far, it's a great improvement from the old one. This one is faster and seems to clean better. Recently, I came to get my car washed and there was no line!!! What???!!! I couldn't believe my eyes. I just drove right into the car wash. Felt like I won the lottery, lol, not that I play so I don't even know what that feels like. Anyhow, car wash was effective to get my car back to a decently clean condition on the outside at least after the birds and trees decided to all drop onto my car not too long after it was washed the last time. Overall, Nissan of EG continues to provide good customer service and benefits to their past customers. I may or may not buy another Nissan, but I may consider their Mazda vehicles in the future. Unfortunately, the charging situation is ridiculous and they are adamant not to change their policies. Even though I come by maybe once a month at most, it's still very backwards the way they do not have time limits on chargers. Enabling people who hog their chargers.

One had a serious high-voltage battery failure and spent about two weeks in service for a major battery replacement. The second had mismatched door handles, which raised serious concerns for us about possible prior damage or repairs that were not clearly disclosed. Then, about a month after the sale, they contacted us and told us to return one vehicle because the bank had not funded the deal. How do you complete a sale, let the customer take the vehicle, and then come back weeks later saying the financing was never completed? The insurance situation was even more disturbing. We were pushed into purchasing expensive insurance, and I was later advised to report my debit card lost so the insurance company could not charge it anymore. I found that completely unacceptable. In my experience, managers Ivan and Sonny were focused on closing the deal, not standing behind the sale or taking care of the customer afterward. I would never do business with this dealership again. Check everything, verify financing yourself, inspect the vehicle carefully, compare prices, and do not rely on verbal promises
