The faculty is incredibly knowledgeable and really care about the student's success. On top of typical curriculum, they teach them life skills, like how to stay within a budget at the grocery store. They also teach them music, art, and go on field trips monthly. Additionally, they do not give homework but encourage family reading time. And more importantly, during parent-teacher conferences they not only discuss areas of improvement but also what they plan to do to help your child succeed. I can't say enough about the school. I definitely recommend coming by to do a tour and see all of the amazing things they have to offer.

It has so much outdoor space for the kids to play and explore, and the fact that there are visiting peacocks and chickens wandering around just adds to the charm. My son loves bringing home little nature "souvenirs" like feathers and cool rocks and sticks he finds at school, and they've become prized possessions in his room. The atmosphere is really calm and peaceful, which makes it a wonderful learning environment. The small class sizes are another huge plus and allow the teachers to give each student the attention they need. The staff here genuinely care about the kids, both academically and emotionally. I've been amazed at how the teachers, staff and even the other students have really helped my son come out of his shell. Despite being previously enrolled in preschool, he was quite shy and introverted when he first started kindergarten. He's now really flourishing and every day I can see the positive impact everybody at Almondale is having on him. I can't say enough good things about the staff and teachers. They're kind, attentive, and genuinely care about each student. My son isn't just another kid in a classroom; the staff and teachers truly take the time to understand his strengths and challenges and work with him every day to help him thrive, which is something I really value. Almondale Academy has been a perfect fit for our son, and I'm so glad we made the choice to enroll him here. I always felt informed, included, and confident that he was in the best hands. Most importantly, my son achieved milestones here that I truly believe wouldn't have been possible anywhere else. The American River Water Education Center is a small but very informative free museum near Folsom…read moreDam. The inside of the center is mostly used for elementary school field trips and programs, which are available by reservation. Outside the center, there is a really cute bus stop rain shelter. The inside is painted to demonstrate the water cycles of evaporation, condensation, precipitation, etc. There are also some electrical outlets in the rain shelter. A dirt pathway leads all the way around the center in a loop. Along the way, one passes several native gardens full of drought resistant plants, succulents, lavender, poppies, irises, and more. There are plenty of shaded picnic tables, as well as an outdoor restroom, which is unlocked during business hours. The American River Bike Trail runs right between the center and Folsom Dam, and is easy to access from the parking lot. One direction leads to the Dam, and the other to Beal's Point. Walking trails lead from the center to an outdoor amphitheater and ephemeral pond, and then continue towards the state recreation area, parallel to the bike trail. Overall, this is a great spot for field trips and excursions with small children. The gardens are adorable, and the signs are very informative.

However, horrible communicators and very poor planning…read more They had accepted our intake information, scheduled my daughter's appointment weeks in advance and then on the Sunday night they cancelled our session via email. I called back twice without a response until the next morning before our appointment and still nothing. Finally I got ahold of someone stating we were only 2 times per month and that there's a waiting list. But they called another provider that's accepting kids. So frustrating! Why take our information, schedule a session and then cancel stating there's a waiting list? I suggest doing more research on third party providers for Kaiser. Apparently certain families aren't worth their time. Not an easy process and they certainly made it more difficult for my family. Single dad, four kids and simply tossed to another organization for whatever reason they deemed.
