That was way too much for her fragile post surgery state. The result of this neglect was a severe case of dehydration that put her in the hospital for 14 hrs. But, Instead of just focusing on my acute issues, Maddie also cared for my chronic foot pain and we worked to resolve something that had bothered me for YEARS. I then unfortunately an illness that left me de-conditioned/dizzy for months. Maddie and Sarah on their own time did some research for me, found rare cases related to my symptoms and recommended specifics that would help, especially in their heated pool(which became the highlight of my week). I just completed my first full week of work thanks to this! There was a point where I could not even walk to the bathroom or look at a computer for longer than 30 minutes. The staff here TRULY cares about you, your pain(however long-standing), your weakness and symptoms and do their best to make you feel welcome. A few were more successful than others, but I always had some level of pain, which I had learned to tolerate. My job required physical activity, and I needed to make it work. I wanted to avoid the surgery, because the outcome was not always guaranteed to be what I wanted it to be. Michael Crooks has given me many actual pain free periods (weeks and sometimes months) with his unique, low key, but capable method of evaluation and approach to treatment with the emphasis on being able to move well with a minimum of pain. This business is not run like a sterile clinic, but rather (if you are motivated to do what you need to get better, and believe me, it is not at all complicated and does not require having fancy equipment at your house) you will be given the utmost attention to what you specifically need for your work requirements as well, so that you can usually avoid getting hurt over and over again on your job. You also are given strategies to deal with problems yourself as they come up, once you have your problem under control. I am not saying that I never have to go back, but usually it is after I have done something stupid, like taking a trip requiring sitting still in my wife's car for 8 hours at a time... Overall, the emphasis of this practice is not to keep you as a lifelong meal ticket of a patient, but rather, to get you better and show you ways of staying well.
