We called the same morning to get an early appointment at 9:30 and they accommodated the two of us, myself and my 12 year old niece. We got sold "up" to mani and pedis but we so enjoyed the pedi and massage chair we were grateful to have done both. Friendly environment and clean practices were employed. I got the powder dip nails and love that I can just grow them out. My niece got a beautiful peachy nude color which was nice and age appropriate for her. Went to salon on Nov. 6, 2016 After paying waaayyyy too much for a mani pedi for my daughter and myself on Thursday afternoon, my gel mani did not even last until Saturday, the one nail's gel was completely gone by Sunday am. We were in town for my son's wedding, and wanted to treat ourselves. They automatically did a "full service" pedi without asking and added gel on to my daughters acrylic nails without asking and the price was ridiculous: $166!!! I tried Folly Nails after finding a deal for a gel manicure on Charleston Deals. I am glad that I opted in! I called in the late morning and was offered an appointment that evening after work. The salon is set up in a pretty standard nail salon way. It is clean, simple and doesn't have any extra unnecessary things. I arrived at my appointment time and only had to wait about 5 minutes- it was mostly me taking my time choosing my color and letting the foot tub fill up. I was serviced by Henry. He was fantastic. He did a fantastic job on my toes and a beautiful job on my french gel manicure. He was gentle, which is nice. Some salons are so rough and just make you feel like it's being rushed. Their hours were until 7pm, but they were gladly accepting customers up until that point. I will gladly go back to Folly Nails in the future. I have already recommended it to a few friends- who mentioned doing a girls day at the salon then heading over to the beach. It was super close to the actual beach that when I walked out after my appointment, it smelled like I was standing right on the sand. read more

Okay, I have been trying not to write a review because I'm not the type of person to say anything if I have a bad experience someplace on yelp, but I've changed my mind. I was in a little over a week ago to get acrylics and a pedi , and I have been to this place so many times with nothing but good experiences until now. For starters, when me and my friend tried to change our minds about getting SNS the worker would not stop trying to pressure us into not changing our "order". It made us both so uncomfortable because he wouldn't just give us what we are paying for, instead he was pressuring us to buy something more expensive(got to the point where I finally had to just say I changed my mind bc I couldn't spend that much of my money on my nails and acrylics were cheaper). My pedicure was good, nothing wrong there, but when it came to my acrylics the job done was just awful. When putting the tips on my nails, instead of measuring to see which tip would truly fit my nail he just picked up a random tip and glued it on. One of the tips didn't end up fitting and fell off in the middle of him doing my nails, and his solution was to glob more glue on and "make it fit". The first hand he shaped was good, but when starting my second hand 2 appointments walked in, so he started to become super rushed. He used the sander on my cuticles instead of trimming them, which resulted in him cutting me 3 times, the shaping was sloppy and extra acrylic was left under all of my nails. When he was done, he didn't brush any extra powder off my hands or apply any sort of lotion/cuticle oil to my nail beds or hands either , which is something that has been done every other visit I've made(I had strange, hard dry patches all over my fingers afterwards for a day which I can only assume is leftover product of some sort). The two of us had walked in without an appointment, I do see how that caused a problem for the workers, but if they knew about the appointments, they should have let us know that we couldn't be helped right now. The polish on my nails ended up having tons of bubbles in it, and 5 days later one of my nails already started lifting, which has never happened to me before. I have had acrylics many times and they always stay on for at least 2 weeks. Bottom line, I will not be returning here, which makes me sad because I rlly did like this nail salon and it's so close to home. Idk what happened to the place, but it's really gone downhill. read more

I LOVED my experience at Folly Nails! If you look at my photos, you'll see a few photos of my Pink and White manicure and my French Gel Pedicure. One of the the most amazing is the one of my right hand after 17 days! I am a cooking/cleaning mother of six who is not used to having nice nails, (and not used to using my hands in a way that protects my manicure!) but they still look crazy-amazing and I have done NOTHING to my them since the manicure but smooth the edge of two or three nails with an emery board. Today, I think I will try a top coat of (regular) clear polish and see if that will camouflage the fact that I haven't had them filled, but I wanted to take a picture first to show the OUTSTANDING work that Chris did. The positive reviews about Chris and the team at Folly Nails do not exaggerate. They are wonderful. I arrived at Folly Nails with right about 60 minutes available for a manicure and pedicure (I got the deluxe!) Our family was going to have photos taken on the beach at 6:30 that evening and I had no time to spare. Still, Chris assured me I'd be fine time-wise and he went diligently and quickly to work--yet with the precision of a skilled artist. He made them beautiful, perfectly shaped, and shiny. His professionalism and communication skills are unrivaled in any salon I've been to. He was kind, helpful, and didn't mind answering my many questions. Also, his attention to detail was amazing; I didn't realize I accidentally bumped the inside of the light (that sets the clear gel topcoat) but *he* felt it and re-did the topcoat on two nails that were marred. Speaking of the topcoat, as I mentioned, I will be putting some (regular) clear polish over them. The reason I think it will work is that the line of demarcation between my nail and the "pink" is so subtle that I think I may get away with it! He really knew what he was doing! And don't let me forget to mention Amy.... let me remember sweet, angelic Amy who gave me a fantastic pedicure at the same time Chris did my manicure. She transformed my overworked and sore feet and made them lovely, with heals unrecognizably smooth. My french pedicure (gel) STILL looks pretty great. (There's a photo on my profile of it when it was new, then five days--at the ocean!--later.) Amy was so friendly and kind that I sort of miss her. :) I was so impressed with how my nails were holding up after our time at the beach that I stopped in as we were leaving just to show them how great my nails still looked. I have been going to this nail salon a little over a year now. I drive 30 minutes from my house to go to this nail salon because the other nail salons around do not compare to Folly Nails! They have excellent service! The staff is very courteous and will offer you a drink as soon as you hit the door. As a young professional, time is limited but my nail technician Henry always gets me in and out. The S&S (powder) manicure below only took him 45 minutes to complete. Shape is very important to me and Henry always gives my nails a great shape and ensures they are smooth and not too thick! Let me first say that this business is GREAT at last minute! I hadn't planned on getting my nails done before my beach wedding in October, but my mom insisted that she wanted to go, so we called and were there within 25 minutes. They were ready for 4 of us for pedicures. I was so surprised that there wasn't a wait! I got a pink and white gel nails and a spa pedicure. The nail technician didn't speak perfect English but understood what I wanted, and my nails looked amazing. THEY STAYED LOOKING BRAND NEW FOR OVER 2 WEEKS (yes, they were grown out, but with a fill at my local nail salon, they were like new again)! That never happens to me! I always break a nail or scratch them, but this time they were flawless to the end. I didn't not like going here... It was my first time coming here and I got s & s with tips, it has not even been 2 weeks and the two nails have come off. I also told the person who was doing my nails to do them short in the beginning before I got my nails done and they are so long so my mom came over and told them to file them down and he did but the way he did it hurt! And when he used the nail drill he cut me with it (but I don't think on purpose) and the thumb nails are different lengths... also there was a little girl there to and my little sister was crying so my mom took here outside and the little girl she told my mom and my sister to shut up then closed the door on them and the mom and the dad ( who work at the nail shop ) did nothing! I am so sad to write this review... this nail salon came so highly recommended. The people were of course nice, however, the amount of time and effort that was put into the pedicure was minimal. The pedicure maintenance of my feet took a total of 17 minutes while with the polish added 21 minutes (one coat was given). I'd really never seen anything like it before. A woman came over to apply the polish because she saw I'd questioned the operator about missing the callused areas, she told me she was sorry and applied the polish. At the very end, I suspect after they saw I hadn't left a tip (third time in life I've ever done this), the person who set up my foot-bath came over to inquire if I was happy. I showed him the bottom of my feet and he understood my annoyance. Finally after picking at my feet a bit, he told me to come back another time and ask for him. Perhaps if I'd had "Henry" my experience would have gone better, unfortunately, I can only review on my experience, which was by far the worst pedi I've ever received. :( read more

I went here about 2.5 weeks ago with high hopes! I am very picky with my gel nails because I had been spoiled with the last place I went to before moving here - they always lasted 3 weeks and only then needed fixed because my nails had grown. I went here and immediately was greeted at the door. Everyone was so friendly! Was seated right away for my pedi. The chairs were average, not the greatest massage I've had, but decent. My feet still look great, but the only complaint I have is I noticed they did not pull the utensils out of a sterile package. And since it was almost July 4, I showed them a pic I had found on Pinterest of "4th of July" nails. They quickly said they would accommodate, which I was pleased about. Although Jenny was very friendly and put my vision into place, my gel nail polish started chipping within 3 days! 3!!! I'm not sure if it's because one of them was a silver glitter and that's why it chipped sooner, or what, but I wasn't pleased. Also, she did not go all the way up to my cuticle with the gel. So, in result, I ended up going elsewhere one day shy of 2 weeks to get them redone. If you want a place with friendly workers that will talk to you and mostly for the experience, I suggest here! Perhaps I didn't speak up enough, but at the same time, I would also expect more from a $28-$33 pedi without having to ask. I got there and was greeted nicely, I was offered to pick a color and sit in a chair right away. I was not given a menu to choose the type of pedi, all I said is that I wanted a French pedi. The technician was very easy to talk with, he kept the conversation going and was very nice. He was a native of Charleston. It turned out nice, but I didn't get any massage. The only reason why I didn't say anything throughout the pedi was 1. I was thinking the massage was still going to happen but at the end somehow, and 2. If the massage didn't happen, maybe the pedi would cost a little less. Well, neither happened and I left a disappointed. I'm 5 weeks postpartum and was really looking forward to relaxing with a massage. 3 stars because the pedi turned out nice, but I can't believe I didn't get a massage... very strange. read more

I'm not entirely sure why this salon is rated the best in the area. My experience has brought me to the decision to never return. I don't recommend this salon unless you like creepy crawlers. I went to get a pedicure and everything was going smooth until a cockroach crawled out of the seat I was sitting in and almost on me. The man who was giving me my pedi was only amused at my terrified reaction. I looked down to make sure the roach was gone, only to find a smaller one crawling in the bowl that he just drained the water from. Neither of these roaches were killed, only swatted and laughed at.
