    Salad bar
    Lizzie S.

Came here with 4 work friends (1 vegetarian) on a Monday night after a conference at Moscone. We had no reservation, and were seated promptly. I've never been to Fogo de Chao. I didn't know what to expect besides steakhouse. The interior is a vibe. It's dark and upscale. The large salad bar takes center stage. I wanted to be healthy, but it was hard--I filled up my plate with a lot of salad (they also had deli meats, cheeses, soups, olives, and more--great variety) when I also wanted to save room for meat! At first, servers slowly came out with different kinds of meat. They offered some to us, and cut them tableside and put them on our plates. After a while, it seemed like they just kept coming out and I immediately filled up. 1 person in our party is vegetarian and he ordered the tofu. He asked our server if he liked the tofu and the server laughed (because who comes here and orders tofu?) The tofu, by the way, lacked flavor. Anyways, service was wonderful. We shared a cheesecake at the end which was fun. Will be back for a date night. So much meat! And the salad bar! It's an experience!

This is a bar happy hour update- Shrinkflation? The $16 beef rib for happy hour is half the size that it was last year. I have all the photos from every visit through the years, can see a big difference. The presentation of this item was disappointing this recent visit. It was super salty. I appreciated all the food came out fast . Props to bar staff doing their thing because they have to make drinks for the whole restaurant AND serve the bar patrons for ordering food and collecting payment. Sadly they were so busy I waited so long for service like paying my tab or for someone to check up on us. After they finished making drinks They were chatting with each other and totally forgetting that I asked for and was waiting for something it was frustrating

First time to this Brazilian Steakhouse. It has a much better salad bar selection than the ones I have been to in the past. They have less options of meats to pick from though . The drink I had, which was part of the all day happy hour, was very good. The gentleman helping me was good which will reflect in my tip. Due to them forgetting my premium offer (lump crab cake) I received it for free. That was a nice correction to a wrong. One huge thing to me that I did not like was how the manager was around the whole experience and he went and talked to all the tables except for me. That was very offensive to me and it was not even because I was a solo table because he spoke with 2 other solo tables. Being a native San Franciscan foodie this experience was disappointing to me. I know now that I will not be returning due to my experience and sharing details to my followers. Service is one of the most important aspects of a meal for me (followed by good quality food very closely behind that). You live and you learn.

I celebrated my graduation this past weekend we could hear at this beautiful restaurant. The food here is always amazing. I always come here for special occasions and the service is top-tier. I tried also their lychee and peach Bellini, which was really good. And what a better way to run into a warrior player at the restaurant, which was really cool as well to put on top of my graduation.

I had high expectations for Fogo de Chão given its premium price point, but unfortunately, the experience did not fully meet them. While the quality of the food was good overall, the variety of meats served to our table felt somewhat limited. We were offered the same cuts repeatedly, and some items, such as the chicken hearts, were only brought out after we specifically requested them. One of the standout cuts of the evening was served around 9:00 PM, by which time we were already quite full and unable to enjoy it as much as we would have liked. Additionally, the chocolate molten cake was underwhelming and did not live up to expectations. I've had more satisfying experiences at other Brazilian steakhouses, especially considering the cost. While the meal was enjoyable in some respects, I expected a more consistent and memorable dining experience.

Can't do justice to the multitude of meats you'll be able to try here so I'll review the lesser known items on their menu! Highly recommend trying at least one slice from each meat so you know what to get seconds for. Personally, I found the Picanha to be one of my favorites! 4/5 - Cheese and Honey - Best to eat this fast as once the cheese cools it can harden and not be as soft as that first bite you take. You can ask for more honey on top if they circle back around. One of the best side dishes! 5/5 - Key Lime Pie - Soft and sweet! You'll enjoy choosing this as a dessert to top off your dinner experience. It might not look like a big slice, but you'll still find it quite filling! 5/5 - Cheesecake Brulee - Same with the key lime pie. The strawberry sauce was not too sweet or strong. Looks very aesthetic and also comes with great flavor. 5/5 - Caramelized Pineapple Old Fashioned - The strongest tasting cocktail that we tried. Still tastes like the classic old fashioned you've had but definitely one to sip while you chat at dinner. Highly recommend this drink! 5/5 - Premium Caipirinha (Traditional) - A great lime-flavored cocktail that is also fun to drink at lunch or dinner. If you like Cachaca, I recommend trying this out! It's not a cocktail you typically get at other bars. 5/5 - Yellowbird - Fruity flavor profiles complement the Blanco well and the design of the drink matches its name. If you like passion fruit and pineapple, you won't be disappointed.

Another great dinner at Fogo. There's a SF Restaurant week dinner promotion for $59. It is the same as "The Best of Fogo" deal $59. They now have an "All Day Happy Hour" menu with $10 cocktails and $6 beers. Separately, there's a "The Trilogy Collection", three bottles of house wine deal for $99. Their house wine is pretty good. Our favorite meat was the picanha, prime sirloin. Well, all the meats were pretty good. Love Fogo! Great job everyone. Special thanks to our waiters that never stopped refilling our water and wine. The extra sauces they gave us like chimichurri were all terrific. Such a beautiful restaurant.

What an amazing experience! Good: - I came here with a gift card from Costco, super worth it! - The salad buffet was amazing! So many options and it's unlimited - The single churrasco is more than enough, and the staff keep coming by to give you more slices of picanha and lamb picanha - Loved the fruit options, papaya cantaloupe, you name it - Love the cheesy bread as always, it definitely fills you up quickly! - The waiters brought us mashed potatoes and banana and other appetizers that were all so tasty. - Feels upscale and fancy for a date - Portion sizes are perfect, you won't be hungry after this Bad: - Can be pricey, but we got a good deal with Costco Overall this was a unique experience that I will be back for more for!

Dropped in with my brother on a Tuesday for their $18 lunch buffet after seeing it advertised on social media and now I have added it to my rotation of best lunch deals in the city. It includes high-end items like aged cheeses, smoked salmon, charcuterie, and fresh hearts of palm that go far beyond a standard salad bar. All of the side dishes from the yucca fries to the caramelized bananas, and garlic mashed potatoes were delicious and quickly disappeared off their plates. Service was amazing with our drinks quickly refilled and our used plates cleared promptly without us having to ask. I'm offically hooked and will be back again soon for more!

Came in for a late lunch and I was surprised by how limited the selection of food was. The salad bar was the same and great but I come here for the table side service. They bring out large portions of side dishes without asking if you even want them which some of them I didn't which I hate wasting food so I didn't love that. I ordered a lemonade that was excellent and didn't know that I'd be charged for a refill when the server asked if I wanted another one. Usually drinks like lemonade have refills included and it would have been nice to be informed about that before another one came. The food was high quality but the limitations were surprising. The pineapple that comes at places like this is one of my favorite parts of Brazilian BBQ and I was shocked it wasn't part of the experience. The lunch price wasn't much better than the dinner. If I come back I'd wait out for the dinner with the broader selection.

I visited this establishment for a weekday dinner in one of the private rooms, however the main dining area did not seem too busy at the time. The servers were polite and attentive throughout my dining experience. In addition to the usual meat carving and buffet style salad bar, a nice touch was having the seafood appetizer with lobster, crab, shrimp, and mussels. The meat service was as expected but I did notice the meats each felt a bit dry. I am a frequent diner at Espetus so I was a bit shocked at how dry each cut of meat was. For dessert, we decided to each order a different dessert and share so we got to try a little bit of each. We got the cheesecake brûlée, crème brûlée, chocolate molten cake, chocolate brigadeiro, and key lime pie; each of them were great and saved the meal for me. I would go back if I was in the area and would like to share the desserts again, but I think I would prefer to go to Espetus if I was craving Brazilian bbq.

The restaurant was beautiful. Crowded dining area. I felt like I was bumping into servers others diners too. Our Server was Mia. She was sweet and helpful. We were a group of 14. Excited to Dine at this restaurant. We wanted the Brazilian experience. Which would include 5 different meat cuts. The meat cut that was brought out the most was a sirloin cut. Most of our meal was the same meat cut. It was very very rare. We asked several times if we could have a meat more medium. That didn't happen. So we ate mostly the salad bar. Salad bar was excellent. However there were fruit flies in the restaurant. That was a bit annoying while eating. By the time different meat cuts were offered we were full. So it definitely wasn't experience we were looking for. There's always room for improvement.

Went to Fogo de Chão for the $59 all-you-can-eat deal and honestly for the price I can't complain. My favorites were the picanha and the grilled pineapple. The meal also came with sides like fried bananas and mashed potatoes, which were just okay in my opinion. One small complaint is that we felt a little rushed at times. But the servers themselves were very nice overall, so we still had a good experience.

We scheduled the delivery for 9:20 a.m., but by 8:40 a.m. the app showed it had already been delivered. The problem? There was no food at our hotel room. I tried contacting the delivery driver by text, but never received a response. It was incredibly frustrating, especially after leaving a generous tip. We later found out the driver had left the food at the hotel but never told the front desk which room it was for, even though they had all of the delivery information. As a result, our food just sat there until we eventually had to go down and get it ourselves. In the end, I paid for a delivery service that I never actually received. Instead of enjoying the convenience we paid for, we had to track down our own order. Based on this experience, I would not recommend paying for delivery. If you're ordering from this restaurant, save your money and pick it up yourself. I paid for a service, but I did not receive what I paid for. Then to make it worse the breakfast sandwich was just OK. Nothing to write home to mom about. To say the least we will not be ordering her again and would not recommend this restaurant.

I think Cafe de Casa also used to make them, but I haven't been in a couple of years. The Brazilian Spot offers açaí bowls, baked goods, and juices on the menu, as well has a small, hot buffet-style section where I think you pay by weight. There's also shelves of imported, Brazilian grocery items on the left wall, which is pretty cool if you're looking for more specialized goods that aren't typically available in your regular grocery store. There's a handful of tables and chairs, but not a lot of seating otherwise. The pão de queijo was still warm in the bag when we picked them up. Their version was too salty and dense for my taste; the pão de queijo of my memories from that spot on Balboa Ave was bouncier and airier than The Brazilian Spot's (they also had fun flavors like guava). If I *really* get a hankering for pão de queijo again, I might come back, but otherwise, the search continues.

I thought the stew would be a soup, but it was a steamed piece of yucca, which was not bad. I learned what it was after ordering it. Also, yucca flour is literal flour that is in a small ramekin that you would sprinkle on all your other food items. I am pointing this out to anyone who is a first-timer at a Brazilian restaurant. I experienced, got schooled, and passing the knowledge to you. As the previous reviewer said, the pot of chili in oil on the table is fire, so eat in moderation. It has fantastic flavor but is very, very spicy. All the dishes were unique and tasty except for the beef kabob, which was overcooked steak on a stick.

I was honestly surprised and blown away by this dish because I changed my order a few times! Most of the menu is in Portuguese with barely any English! I couldn't read the names of most of dishes, but thank god for Google Translate! So I wasn't sure what I was ordering.... This was the perfect dish in terms of flavor, taste, texture, and quality! It has all my favorite elements! Crispy Mini Fries, Juicy Succulent Shrimp, Cheesy Rice with Ham & Peas! The Fresh Acerola (Brazilian Cherry) Juice was also a little bit sweet and tangy! New type of juice I tried for the first time! Definitely coming back to try the Picanha aka Queen of Steaks (Top Sirloin Cap Steak) and other tasty dishes on the menu! Overall 5 outta 5 for food, taste, quality, service, and ambiance! If you want a great dinner restaurant with wine or a delicious lunch with a beer, this is the spot!

Matt had been talking about Brazilian steakhouse every time he saw something that reminded him remotely of Fogo de Chao, so I figured this opportunity might be of interest to him. Come to find out that the day after I make the reservation he asks if I'd be willing to go a Brazilian steakhouse for the long weekend, so I got to surprise him with the fact that I already had a reservation. I'm not the biggest fan of Fogo de Chao based on my prior experiences there. I do believe that I have been to a Show de Carnes location before and had another great experience, but also Show de Carnes's Memorial Day promotion was slightly better than Fogo's and I much preferred that their location was outside of the city even if on the other side of the bridge. I did have to call the morning of to delay our reservation slightly, but it was taken care of for us without hassle. We even got seated closer to the original reservation time when we ended up running early. There isn't much space to wait in the front lobby area especially on a packed night, but everything looks very upscale from the wine bottles on the wall to the crystals above the self-serve side buffet. As far as mandatory meats, I have a couple of personal rules when it comes to Brazilian steakhouse, including go light on the sides and only go for the beef. Picanha is my favorite, extra rare too, so I made myself a whole pincanha meat salad while probably giving the guy cutting the meat a good scare. The grilled pineapple is also a must, followed by the cheese and honey. Matt got a lot more variety but it takes a while for the guys to come around with meat that has already been sliced up some so I can get to the parts that I like. We got a papaya cream and passion fruit mousse for dessert, which we probably really didn't need but enjoyed thoroughly as we are both dessert people. As it was a busy night, it was not too easy to flag a server down. I saw picanhas skip our table left and right so I'm not sure there's an established route for them to bring the meat around. The staff did seem to work together with great teamwork, and someone always stopped by to make sure we had more water and our choice of sides. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone that is a protein or all you can eat fan. The regular price per person is definitely steep in my humble opinion, but if you can catch a promo it'll be a great time. Also, don't choose between still or sparkling, ask for tap. I will not be getting got again next time.

My party of 3 dined here on a Saturday for a little girls night and snagged a reservation on short notice (just a day prior). Honestly, the experience was underwhelming. We ordered a pao de queijo to start with two entrees to share. The pao de queijo, coming with just three measly balls, was dense, dry, and far from worth the hefty $8 price tag. The pao de queijo at Fogo De Chao is far superior which is not saying much, but at the very least, the famed Brazilian BBQ restaurant chain offers their bread gratis. The two entrees we ordered were the seafood stew and half rotisserie chicken. I'll admit the chicken was wonderfully cooked with every morsel succulent and juicy. But, the bed of rice was a tad too overcooked and the scant vegetables left the cohesive whole disappointing. Again, the seafood stew was underwhelming and the pilaf-esque rice seemed to make up the bulk of the "stew." I'm not sure if I'd dub seafood atop an oz or two of gravy as stew but perhaps stew is a subjective term.

We were there on a Friday afternoon and our bartender Jaques took great care of us making us feel welcomed. We ordered the pao de quiejo, which had a crispy crust and cheese gooey center as well as the beef kibbeh as our appetizers. Both hit the spot just right with our drinks. Will love to come back for a full dinner service as their menu was really fun and even included vegan items.

"We ran out of smalls, so we made your pizza a medium."…read more On my last night in San Francisco, I wanted to eat dinner somewhere special to send off the right way and I knew I needed to come to Mozzarella di Bufala one last time. I've come here around 4 times before and have eaten everything from both the Italian and Brazilian side of the menu. Dominic and the family that owns the restaurant is warm and inviting, and he walked us through the menu and its history with his father the first time we came. The menu is authentic and reflects the cultures of his family and we loved that. The pizzas are made fresh and they make it every way from thin crust to Detroit but what really gets me here every time is the cornmeal crust pizzas they offer. It's very unique and the crust is the perfect sweet crunch that compliments every bite. I usually get a pizza and way more apps than it is appropriate for one person but they're just that good. The Brazilian cheese balls come with a sweet strawberry jam that I have to smear on every bite. The French fries are the same McDonald's cut (if you're a fry enthusiast like me, you'll know that the cut really matters). The bruschetta is fresh and loaded with tomatoes. And each variety of the croquettes they have are delicious but I often get the chicken and cream cheese ones. They're seasoned really well and creamy. What really stood out to me the most about this place is that the restaurant feels like a part of the West Portal community. Every time I go for dinner, there's a woman who's there eating her dinner. The first time I went she mentioned she comes here everyday and to my surprise, she wasn't lying. That last night, I watched her there again 4/4 times eating her dinner. On my last night, I ate my pizza while I watched Dominic and his friends grabbing a beer together catching up at closing time. And I watched regulars say goodbye like they were saying goodnight to a good friend. Mozzarella di Bufala feels like home in a different way, and I can't wait to come back again in the future when I'm visiting SF.
