Our reservation was 6:45, got there 6:30 and was seated 7:20. On a Thursday night. The flow of steak service felt inconsistent, which took away from the overall experience. The cheese bread, which used to be a highlight, has changed. It was oily and lacked the light puffy texture I remember. On a positive note, the salad bar was enjoyable, with a good variety and fresh options.

Outstanding vibe at Fogo de Chão PDX, warm, lively, and beautifully lit. Best way to start dessert is with that rich tres leches and burnt meringue. Remember to soak the cake well! That's how it becomes pure velvet. Incredible Crème Brûlée by Regina, cracked sugar and silky heaven! Grateful for Neia keeping every cut of meat flowing nonstop for us! Amazing team all around; they made dinner feel special from start to end. Desserts landed like a finale: Bold, creamy, balanced, unforgettable. Our table felt pampered, never rushed, and always checked on with care. Must say the staff here carries the whole room with pride and warmth. All dishes and moments came with that signature Brazilian hospitality. Regina and Neia truly elevated the night with service and sweetness. If you're in downtown, this is the spot to slow down and enjoy deeply. Nothing feels staged: Everything feels genuine, warm, and delicious. As always, obrigado, Fogo de Chão. You keep setting the bar high.

Wow what a great place . Great service and the food was great . I wish I had not got so full so quick I would have kept eating . The only complaint I have is sitting next to the door where they get the high chairs for the kids. My recommendation is don't sit there. I highly recommend eating at this place . Make your reservation and you get seated quickly.

Came here for a birthday dinner and turnout to be one of my worst dinning experiences I've had in a long time. Our server was friendly and everything was fine at first until it started to get busy. Apparently his section was across the restaurant from our party so we ended up getting ignored a lot. Felt bad for him because it was his first night on his own. Well I don't eat much meat (only chicken) and mostly eat vegetarian so only two options. A cauliflower steak for $45 or a tofu dish for $49. I ordered the tofu and it included their salad bar/buffet. Didn't get told that they were out of tofu for 30 minutes waiting for my meal. No manager came by to apologize or render the situation until a manager came by and was helping clear plates. I asked about the tofu and she said well we are out. Then explained to her I ordered it and wasn't told for 30 minutes. Then I got my meal/salad bar $37 comped and a free dessert. Salad bar had a lot to choose from but the veggies were all very bland. The mushrooms and corn salad were about the only good thing. Drink service was very slow and took about 15-20 minutes to get your drink. Then it took forever to get the dessert menu and dessert. Best dessert was the crème brûlée cheesecake. Lava cake was cold with chocolate syrup in the middle and my crème brûlée was descent. Then when it came to the bill it went even more downhill. We split it 3 ways. Not too hard but boy was that mistake. It was all messed up and we just gave up, paid and left. I will not be back. Overpriced and poor service and management. Best part of the meal was the rolls. I am gluten free and I didn't get sick eating here but I didn't get to eat much.

First time visit! Our group went on a Sunday morning for brunch and had a great meal. We had reservations and were seated promptly. Started out with an Old Fashioned, which was strong and good, I also ordered the Market Brunch. Everything was tasty and there were lots of options to choose from! Stand outs for me were the roasted cauliflower, the chicken salad and the cute mini waffles! Salami and cheese was yummy as well! I liked the pork/bacon, but it was very sweet. Service was okay, not overly friendly but nothing to complain about. The dining room could be set up a little better, it felt a little cramped with tables to get to the market table at times. Overall it was a good first experience and I'll be back to try the meat selections in the future!

We were sat by a ton of parties. Which sucked, because they were taking all the meat before it got to us. We let our waitress Roxanne know and she ensured we got the exact meat we wanted. She was the best. Salad bar is super subpar in general but even more because they never refilled the bacon. Good employees good meat but going at a low time would be nice. Also parking garage next door is horrible and its not included

The food was decent for the price. Normally for birthdays we go to a traditional steakhouse but we wanted to try something new this year. Fogo de Chão popped up in our search when we were looking so we gave it a try. When we first got there we were seated quickly at a large table in back. The ambience was pretty casual which was not a bad thing since we had children with us. One downside was that the location of our table was in an awkward spot by the kitchen that made us feel like we couldn't move without being in someone's way. It was also kind of close to a door and we had some flys that wouldn't leave us alone. We were a very large number of people so we all wanted different things and the set up made it interesting to navigate. Some of us would be waiting to eat while others were being served. The food kept coming for a while but did seem to become less and less as time went on with awkward periods where we were all kind of just looking at one another. Still, with the price point it was hard to complain. The meat was cooked to the temperature you asked for and you could keep requesting if you wanted a particular type of meat. The deserts were very tasty and overall we had a decent experience. The positives: -It's priced competitively -It's a unique experience -The option to try new things -Delicious appetizers The cons: -Asking for what we wanted to try felt awkward -Cuts of meat had a lot of fatty sections -There were a couple of flys buzzing around our table -Some people would be waiting while others were being served (couldn't all eat together)

I love fogo! The food and service here is always amazing. We came on a weekend though, so it was extremely busy. Even if you have a reservation, you still may have to wait a while past your reservation time. But that's just how it is since they get so busy. So just try to plan for that. But this place is well worth the wait! The meat quality, the salad bar, the service, is all worth it!

The manager is very nice here and truly personalized the visit!! The market table is pretty cool, has a lot of sides to fill you up such as rice, but also really fresh vegetables and fruit that are a nice combo. They also have garlic which was nice. Then the meat starts coming. The garlic beef and the picanha beef was the best. The baked cheese with honey is also very delicious. Besides that however most of the meat is just ok, and a bit too rare for my liking even when requesting medium. I didn't think it was worth $68 but it was ok.

Enjoying the food and the waitresses keeps bringing more food to our table. So much fun.

I've eaten here a couple of times. I love the food and the service I get here. You feel welcomed. The restaurant is more in the between upscale and higher end that I suggest you wear smart Casual to cocktail attire depends on what day and time you go. Lots of people who go here are the more classier side all dressed up. Highly suggest to make reservations at this restaurant. I have aways left the restaurant satisfied. Pros. -Nice presentable atmosphere -Amazing top service from the staff -Variety of quality food and selection of wine -optional all you can eat exclusive cutting the food in front of you presentation. Higher end feeling. -food quality and seasoning was fresh Cons. -Heart of downtown Portland that parking is not the easiest. IF YOU DRIVE A BIG VEHICLE, DO NOT PARK AT THE PARKING GARAGE CONNECTED TO THE RESTAURANT. The parking garage is very hard for my Dodge Ram truck to make turns and park as the parking garage is super narrow and too many posts around. They make it a two lane but it is definetly not wide enough for two cars lane in that horrible garage. You will thank me for this. -Priced high but you pay for what you get if you want more quality. -Had to still wait for a while even though we made reservations. -you can easily drop atleast $160+ per person if your not careful. Carefully read the menu and price before ordering anything. Overall as many times I have come here I have always been satisfied and it is consistent. It cost more but the experience is worth it. I don't go here as much as I want since the location is in downtown. Hopefully the quality won't change but if anything changes I will update it.

Depending on what you order, it's still great, but if you want absolute freshness out of the kitchen, order-in. Still worth takeaway though. Personal experience might be different for individuals.

I like to freestyle when I travel, but I also like some structure, so I made a reservation to ensure no delays prior to attending a concert not too far away. The staff & our server made this special occasion great, and the food recommendations were really good. We enjoyed the fact that our server recommended things that he had, but also paid very close attention to what other people enjoyed and also offered those recommendations even though they weren't his top ones. He asked all the right questions and we picked some solid items prior to our concert. We started with some warm focaccia bread served with whipped butter. We decided on a half dozen Oysters as we wanted to try all 3 varietys. They split it off for us with 2 separate plates and talked about each of the ones we were going to have. We also had the Salmon Tartare and the Dungenous crab roll filled with plenty of crab and not filler! We also had the Chicory Salad with fried oysters that they also split for us & the Chicory Salad & the Manila claims... also really good. Of course, we had a few cocktails... starting with the "Detour" which used Batanga blanca tequila with a hint of mint to it (elevated margarita) aslong with a few Pear Necessities. To end it all we went with 2 scoops of the "Marion Berry" sorbet. (I'm originally from DC so I had to get one)....Everything was great and I would definitely return!

The atmosphere adds another layer. The layout is unique, with walls covered in historical photos and newspaper clippings that make it clear this isn't just a trendy spot--it's an institution that's been around for over 120 years for a reason. The crowd reflects that range too: couples, families, friend groups, and larger parties all fit comfortably. The outdoor seating is especially beautiful, right in the heart of downtown Portland, and the location itself feels safe and well-trafficked, which matters more than people admit. Craving oysters (when did we become these people?!), we stopped in for lunch, ordered a half dozen (and later, another half dozen), plus the Rockfish and Chips, and the Hot and Crispy Fish Sando. Everything was enjoyable: the sando was reminiscent of an upscale Fish Filet (I mean that in a positive way) with a tiny bit of heat; the Rockfish were fried in a salt-and-pepper-y seasoned batter that paired well; and the oysters, of course, were a particular highlight, as previously mentioned, since a second set was ordered to finish off the meal. The only disappointing thing about the whole meal was a rather uninspired spicy Bloody Mary, which didn't really do much for me, sadly. Service was friendly and attentive, and the covered outdoor dining area was spacious, well-lit, and warm enough to be welcoming and comfortable. There's also a secondary covered and fenced dining patio that is dog-friendly, which is another perk! And lastly, the market and bar inside boasts a heaping helping of fresh fish finery coming in many forms: fresh, frozen, 'frigerated, filleted and fried, either served over the counter, or available to-go. Lots of smoked salmon options as well! Very cool place, and one that my wife in particular has fallen in love with. We'll definitely be returning, likely for dinner next time, to see if the menu is expanded with additional options such as scallops, swordfish, steelhead and other seasonal selections.
