Great job Lorenzo and his crew came and were able to get the job done the same day. He provided before and after pictures, his communication was excellent. Very professional and would recommend. read more

Not worth your time. They were sent out by American Home Shield AHS home warranty and they put a rubber patch over my shingles that made the leak even worse. I called them the next day and they gave a BS excuse that we should wait a few days for the sealant to dry. Quality roofing sealant should work immediately. They turned a tiny leak into a constant drip. read more

I hired this company to replace a light switch in my rental property. The original quote was $280, which included two hours of labor. However, I was later charged $470. The additional charges included $140 for exceeding the two-hour labor limit, and a $50 "minimum materials fee" that was never mentioned in the original quote. A light switch should not cost more than $10. When I asked why replacing a simple switch would take more than two hours, the company never provided a response. I believe I was charged unreasonable fees, both for the extra labor and the so-called $50 materials fee. read more

We had a leak on our roof and AHS referred us to Fog City Roofing. They contacted me right away and we were able to set up an appointment in a reasonable time. The communication was great and we communicated via text, which is perfect for me. Rafael arrived early and was able to diagnose our roof and thankfully fix on the spot. He even cleaned some debris we had on our roof and gutters. He explained the issue right away and said it was a leak that is very common. We just had our second rainstorm since Rafael fixed it and it's as good as new with no leaks. I would definitely use this company on my own especially if they send out Rafael. read more

My nightmare with Fog City Roofing: I hired Fog City for a roof replacement. Their salespeople Daniel Da Mata and Adriano Silva were my contacts, and their crew was pretty quickly removing the old roof for replacement. The weekend approached and rain was predicted. I assumed they would - like competent professionals - cover up my roof to protect my exposed roof from the predicted rain. On Saturday it rained. I was surprised when their crew arrived at around 11am to "check" on the covering. At around 11:30 while their crew was on the roof, WATER STARTED DRIPPING ON MY COUCH NEXT TO ME. I went on my roof to inform the crew, and saw them moving water around my exposed roof to try to get it to a drain. I took photos of the wholly inadequate job they did covering my roof. Despite all evidence to the contrary, their crew assured me that they covered my roof. I had to repeat the phrase, "If there is water dripping in my house, you did not cover my roof." They then said their crew "tried" to cover and their covering was inadequate. They then sent a crew member to hold a bucket under the leak, and I noticed water dripping in other areas of my house. WATER LEAKED INTO 5 OF THE 7 ROOMS OF MY HOUSE. I showed them the other leaks. At this point, I left to get everyone hamburgers, as I thought we'd be working together during the day to remedy the issue. While I was out at 12:23, a crew member said to my spouse, "The roof was covered but it pooled and got in." I returned to provide the crew with hamburgers at 12:30. I was blown away to see the crew was packing up to leave. No one was on the roof, and the ladder was down. The head of the crew told me the plan was to let the water drain out of my roof (and into my house) and they would return Monday. There were no buckets or tarps placed under the leaks I had shown them earlier. I demanded the crew provide buckets and tarps, and they gave me two buckets, not enough to cover all the leaks. I had to catch water with my own buckets, tarps, and pots from my kitchen. Even more upsetting, the head of the crew persisted, and again told me the roof was covered when he left Friday. He put me on the phone Daniel De Mata, who repeated the same ridiculous statement. I repeated my mantra: "If there is water leaking into my house, your crew did not cover my roof." At 2:08 and the crew left without saying goodbye or asking if they can further assist. They took the hamburgers. Rather than opening up the roof and letting the water dry out, they instead covered it (properly this time), sealing in the water that had leaked into my house and creating a perfect environment for mold. The next day, Adriano showed up with two fans and said that I needed to point them at the ceilings to dry out the water. I received assurances from Adriano Silva and Daniel De Mata, including and email that read, "I want to assure you that you have our full commitment to resolve this situation." Despite this, Daniel repeated the lie that Fog City covered my roof, even showing me a photo taken by the crew on Friday. I zoomed in on the photo to show him how it was improperly covered. He relented. I think that was the last time they tried to gaslight me. After a week, they finished with the roof, but the water remained between my ceiling and my roof. Daniel and Adriano promised they had people who were experts in mold remediation, electricians, and other experts who could repair it all quickly. They brought over an electrician and an environmental reviewer. THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T WANT TO INVOLVE INSURANCE, and I was receptive, thinking I could get it fixed inexpensively and quickly with these people who knew contractors and electricians. Because of these assurances (read: because I made the mistake of believing these snakes), I didn't immediately contact my insurance. I foolishly trusted them to make me whole, and the problem festered. After about a week, Adriano and Daniel stopped responding to my emails and calls asking when they'd be sending over a contractor. Instead, after water had sat in my house for two weeks, I finally got an email from their insurance asking for me to make a statement. I sent an email to Adriano who didn't respond. I called Adriano and he didn't apologize or take any responsibility for his lies. He said, "We will let insurance handle it." I'm writing this from an extended stay hotel, where I've had to relocate while most of my ceilings are removed. My house is covered in plastic to prevent damage from dust, my possessions are all in boxes, and my electric wiring is going to have to be replaced. BECAUSE OF FOG CITY'S NEGLIGENCE, I WILL BE LIVING IN A HOTEL FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS rather than my home. This was the result of their crew's carelessness, and exacerbated by their lying salesmen. read more

Francisco and Dennis did a great job fixing some loose tiles as well as fixing other roof issues to prevent leaking. They were on time, professional, and did high quality roof. Highly recommend them. read more

Fog City Roofing is excellent! Rafael helped fix my roof, did a great job, and was very kind, knowledgeable and professional! The company pricing is very reasonable. I have hired a number of roofers in the past, and I feel like I would definitely hire Fog City again. Good people! Good work! Thanks, Rafael! You are a pro! read more

We had a roof leak and our warranty company contracted with Fog City. Initially, we were frustrated as they were a bit difficult to get ahold of to confirm appointment. Once the workers arrived, they were well prepared and identified where the damage was and immediately fixed it and provided before/after photos. We've had pretty good rain since the repair and have been pleased with the results. read more

I have been trying to get in touch with Fog City Roofing for two weeks now. They do not return calls. I would not use them in the future.

Great job. Francisco and Dennis were nice, polite and thorough. They inspected, took pictures of the roof and showed me where the leak was happening and how it was happening. They patched the nail holes and said I should be good. They also took a minute to explain a little bit about roofing and that my roof was not laid on in a way that would best protect me from leaks long term, even though it's good right now. I will definitely consider Fog City when I do need a new roof in 10+ years. read more

I had the pleasure of having our roof replaced with the folks over at Fog City this past September. This was not a simple task as it involved working at the same time other major construction work was underway. The team was extremely mindful of the other projects underway, and made sure to accommodate to make sure they never got in the way. One of the biggest standouts was the communication between the team and myself. Both Daniel and Phileppe ensured that I was kept updated during every step of the way. I can confidently recommend Fog City to anyone in need of a full roof replacement or repairs. read more

Lorenzo's Team from Fog City Roofing showed up today/Saturday at our newly purchased home in Salinas hills just 3 days after requesting service. This home was built in 1991 with Cement Tiles, not your typical asphalt stuff. The home sellers disclosure mentioned a repair done before the sale, and the roofing inspector said it should have been fine, i.e. water tight! What crap, the big windy rain storm earlier this week of December 16th, proved to have water pouring into the home at the ceiling with NEW sheet-rock done by the seller/homeowner last roofer repairs. The Fog City team was stellar in determining the before patch was done incorrectly. They found a big glob of mastic over the wood and not overlapping the metal valley flashing. They removed the bad repair, cleaned and replaced a tile, put down proper underpayment material to cover the wood roof deck all the way over to the valley flashing. Button up all the tiles and flashing looks much better than before. These guys care about doing it right! read more

We requested multiple quotes to reroof our house and Fog City's pricing and plans were competitive. We were given a cheaper quote to skip removing the existing roof, but since our house is old and we decided for a more comprehensive work with repairs when needed. The work was done in three days and the inspection passed on the fourth day. Overall we are happy with the quality and efficiency of the work. read more

It's been a while since we had Fog City Roofing out to our house, but I've been meaning to come back here and leave a review because they were awesome! They were communicative and helpful and the results were great. They removed some rotten wood from the front of our attic - replaced the outside wall, more securely attached the electrical, and then matched the house paint perfectly. I would highly recommend them. read more

We discovered our recently purchased house in Vista, CA had a couple of roof leaks in our first hard rainstorm. We still were covered under our new home owner policy and Fog City Roofing was assigned to handle the repair. At first I was a little confused since they are in Northern California, but I spoke to them and they said they had people in our area who could handle it. Rafael showed up on time, showed us where the leaks were coming from and fixed everything in a few hours. You couldn't ask for more. read more

Made some minor repairs to my flat roof and a couple of tiles. The repairs involves applying tar. I checked on the roof over a week later and the tar had still not cured and was still very tacky. Additionally English was not an option during the visit. All communication had to be conducted over the phone with another individual. read more

Large blowing winds and heavy snowfall destroyed my mom's roof completely. Those were the pandemic days, and I was living in another town. My friend asked me to call Fog City Roofing company to get a hustle-free roof repair done. I called them immediately and explained my situation. They assured to take all the precautions and started the roof repair work. The crew never bothered my mom with anything and did an excellent roof repair task. They left the site all sanitized and clean after the work was over. I suggest them to all..! read more

The crew came in a bit late because of traffic from East Bay to Palo Alto. However, the manager kept me communicated and provided me with updated ETA. The crew was professional, told me exactly what they plan to do. The seal of our skylight windows worn out and the crew cleaned the roof (including the window), and took picture for showing me the root-cause of the problem. The job is beautifully done. I am very grateful for their service. Will definitely use them again. read more

Adriano and his courteous and professional crew completed our roof replacement in August/September of this year. The complexity of our roof resulted in a wide estimate range, but we went with Fog City as theirs was the most straightforward and cost efficient quote. The project took longer than anticipated, but we are happy with the final product and our new roof makes our house look like new. Areas for improvement: worksite cleanliness and proactive communication of project status. Any issues highlighted were addressed quickly, however. read more

On Sept 7 I did the Yelp thing asking for bids for a roof repair/project, which they sent to Fog City Roofing. Adriano got back to me very quickly asking for my address and if the 9th would be a good day for them to come take a look. I said yes and we scheduled it. Later in the day Adriano asked if the 8th would be ok, which it wasn't. On the 8th I got an email from Adriano with an estimate/service agreement, which seemed strange given they hadn't looked at my house yet. When I asked about that his reply was "usually for repair we just send the estimate/service agreement. So, you know what to expect. And if we find out that is something else, we will let you know, and you can make the decision to add it to the job or not. Make sense?" (Alarm bells have now started to sound about this company) I replied that I was having a couple of other companies take a look and that I'd be making a decision on Monday Sep 13. On the 11th he sent me a message saying they wouldn't be able to do the job. I figured that would be the end of it and went elsewhere. Today (Sept 16) I get a text from Adriano saying it was a follow up on the proposal and when was I planning to perform the job? WTF? read more

Requested for a quote, they reply back with literally a dictionary definition of "boast". Sounds like this was an automated computer response to nothing. Would not proceed read more

Adriano responded right away when I asked him to come inspect my roof and give estimate. He understood my issues and was clear in explaining what options are available unlike other contractors who ramble on to describe how bad my roof condition was. I ended up replacing the roof and adding insulation. His crew came in and began working on schedule. They were polite and nice. My house is a typical single residential unit in SF (not very large), and it took 3 crews 5 days to complete, a little longer than I expected, but I rather want them to take extra time to be thorough than cut corners. I think they did just that. I went up to see the new roof, and it was beautiful. Time will tell if it can withstand rainy days and cold nights, but for now, I am very happy with their work. read more

This is a great company. Once I decided to do my roof I was looking for a company in which had safety as their priority. I schedule a roofing inspection to get a quote with them, they got here on time and did a great job by showing me what was the problems on my roof. The next day they gave me a quote and I decided to move forward with them, the project time was about 4 days, very impressive. I really loved the final result. I definitely recommend it. read more

This is a very professional company, they reply really fast with very knowledgeable employees, I asked them about my skylight and they were very efficient answering and giving me an estimated price to fix it, I definitely recommend this company. Once they came to my house they performed the job very well and after it was done they call me to show what was performed and I really liked the way they treated me, they showed me how a company should work, they performed the job really fast and good, I would like to say thank you to Adriano for always answering my calls when I had questions about the job. We had a leak around a skylight after some recent heavy rain. Cannot say enough good things about Fog City! Thank you so much for handling my projects with such care and great rates!

I had Fog City replace part of my roof in the summer and used them again after the storm ripped a hole in a different part of the roof. Adriano accurately diagnosed the problem, was professional, stayed on top of things, and answered the phone when I called (unlike another contractor I used last year), and was responsive to my needs. The pricing was competitive and I would recommend them to anyone who asked. read more
