The funny part here was that when I got up to speak, someone having dinner gets up and says: "I know you." Appetizers came out family style. Calamari, salad, and pasta. All very good and very fresh. The serving staff did a great job supporting this large crowd. I also appreciate that what needed to be hot, was hot and what needed to be cool was just that. My main meal consisted of Chicken Francaise which was excellent. Thin tatsy-fresh pieces of chicken with a very tasty francaise sauce. PLenty of food here... No one goes home hungry. When you enter their space, you can see pictures on the walls of previous guests, then the owner will come right over to you, greet you, and get you to your table. There is a bar area that you can wait at if it's a busy night. THE GROWS: Parking is on-street, or a short walk to a lot. READ THE SIGNAGE. Depending on the time of day and day of the week you go, parking can be annoying, but the food is worth it! THE GLOWS: Once you are seated, you will be greeted with complimentary caponata and a bread basket with a ton of bread choices. Additionally, they will give you a tray of bruschetta, with one piece per person. They also leave a bottle of their own olive oil on the table. During my latest visit, I enjoyed a glass of chianti, their stuffed zucchini flowers, and a risotto special. There are SO MANY menu choices. I highly recommend going with a few people and all ordering something different, that way you have a tour of their impressive menu. They do not have a social media presence, but they do have a website that they keep updated. They are also "Dining Deal Foodie" approved, because they offer a lunch special for $21.95, which includes 3 courses AND coffee, tea, espresso, or cappuccino. WOW!

The restaurant is warm, comfortable and a little more upscale without feeling stuffy. White tablecloths, great service and very reasonable prices. The service deserves a mention on its own because everyone was incredibly attentive, friendly and genuinely seemed to care about making sure we had a great experience. I started with an Espresso Martini, which was honestly one of the best I've had, followed by a Lychee Martini that was also excellent. For food, the Calamari con Gamberi was a standout for me. I actually prefer calamari braised like this instead of breaded, and theirs was tender and full of flavor with shrimp, cherry peppers, white beans and tomato sauce. The Chef's Table Salad with shrimp was super fresh and light. The goat cheese, pear, prosciutto, pistachios and lemon thyme dressing all worked really well together without the dressing overpowering anything. The Lobster & Crab Ravioli was excellent and that saffron cream sauce was the star. I can absolutely see why this is one of their best sellers. I also tried the Pollo alla Franca with Bell & Evans organic chicken, prosciutto, spinach, artichokes, mozzarella and Port wine mushroom sauce. Rich, flavorful and very well executed. Even though I'm normally not a big dessert person, they make all of their desserts in-house, so I had to try a few. The flourless chocolate cake, warm apple tart and Belgian chocolate mousse were all excellent, especially that mousse -- very rich with a strong Belgian chocolate flavor. This was my first time here, but definitely not my last. Great Italian food, excellent cocktails, fantastic service and a true neighborhood hidden gem. Highly recommend.

We both ordered eggplant Parmesan with spaghetti and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The eggplant was sliced, super thin, perfectly battered and complimented with delicious sauce and mozzarella cheese. It was the perfect balance of flavors and a generous portion. We both took home enough food for another meal tomorrow. This was definitely our first time to the restaurant, but will not be our last. We look forward to coming back again.

It was different from what I normally would have gotten. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The penne was good too, but the think the thing I was the most happy about was the red pepper. It worked I didn't have to fight with it or remove the lid to get some and it was really hot. For dessert we ordered Tartufo I couldn't eat it, but it really good. The eggplant Parmigiana was tasty, but we would not consider it an authentic Italian dish. The grilled octopus, on the other hand, was a completely different story. It was incredibly tough and chewy - honestly, it was like eating a garden hose. It really seemed as though it had been cooked ahead of time and then reheated. When we left, my wife looked at me and said, "We're never coming back here again." Unfortunately, I had to agree. That's really a shame because we genuinely wanted to like Selita's. It's close to home, and we were hoping to find a new local favorite. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I suppose that's the chance you take when trying a new restaurant. Sometimes you find a gem, and sometimes you don't. Unfortunately, Selita's was a "swing and a miss" for us.

We had mint chip gelato which was so sugary. Came time for the bill and we showed them the foodie card which deducts 10% off bill. We have used this card in several restaurants and never been a problem. The waiter informed us that since we were paying with two credit cards that he could only apply the 10% on one credit card. We explained that that's not the way foodie card works. He went to check with manager of restaurant and would not honor it on using two cards. This was very poor business policy. I called foodie card when I got home and they stated you could use as many credit cards as you like. Told them we will never be back. They would rather lose a customer. There are plenty of other great restaurants around.
