I was looking for Merrell hiking shoes to replace the Vasque shoes I have been wearing for the last ten years. I have been wearing high end hiking shoes as everyday footwear since I discovered mountain trail hiking in Tucson back in 2002. Their online web site said they had a pair normally retailing for $120 on sale for $80 but it must have been online only since I could not find it in the store. This store did not carry Vasque but I had previously owned a pair of Merrell shoes and knew they were good quality and would last a long time. They offered two choices which were waterproof and not waterproof. I chose the waterproof although I liked the color of the non-waterproof better. The pair I chose were basically brown and I was hoping to get a different color since I had been wearing brown for so long. They offered two other colors, an olive green and a lighter color online but they did not appeal to me. I was hoping for a dark gray or something to match black and jeans better. Service was only so-so. Another customer and I waited in the shoe department for someone to wait on us while other employees looked at us but didn't assist us. It's not like we can help ourselves. Someone has to go in the back and grab a box and bring it out for us to try on. Eventually someone came to help me but the other customer gave up and left. Checking out was equally frustrating. Two cashiers both stuck with customers for a long time, one bickering over a return and not getting a full credit. This is where other stores have a separate counter for these issues so customers who want to simply pay and go can do so without a long wait and no one getting checked out. Standing in line or waiting to be helped while multiple other employees seem to be available to help is frustrating.

Thinking to myself that the only size in stock were giant size-which is normal for the shoes-I was a bit pessimistic. However when asked to check the size in stock (8 and 8.5), I know... I have girly foot size, I was suprised that they had them! So, in effort to stock up on some hyped up shoes, I purchased three triple white ultra boosts (me, my wife, and sis in law) and one white nmd. All in all, champs, carried the shoes that other stores in the same mall did not carry. I would recommend this shop to anyone who needs something embroidered and wants to have the absolute best service. If you're looking for mediocre service with average execution, go somewhere else. My experience with Webster's Sporting Goods could not have been any better. I had called several other embroidery shops in the area and I could not find a single one that would personally embroider one item. So, one week before Christmas, I walked into Webster's with a desperate plea to have an apron embroidered. Not only was it a week before Christmas, but I needed to have the item finished in 2.5 days. I was not expecting to be able to pull it off, but I thought it was worth a shot to ask them anyway. When I entered the shop, I was greeted by a man who was much friendlier than I expected for a busy shop employee around the holidays. He was so nice and not only took the apron but also helped me decide where and how to embroider it. He (Mike is his name) then helped me narrow down some fonts and ultimately I allowed him to use his discretion on what type of font to use in the location that we chose. Mike told me that he wasn't entirely sure if they would be able to finish the job by Friday, but he would give me a call either way so I could come pick it up. Mike and the rest of the team put me so at ease when I was in such a panic about getting this item embroidered on time. Even if they weren't able to get it finished, I was so happy about the way I was treated at their shop. Fast forward to the next day, yes the NEXT DAY, and I get a call from Mike telling me that the apron is finished. Not only did they get the job done for me, but they got it done EARLY. During the holiday season. WOW!!!! Color me impressed. I went to pick the item up, and I was again greeted by Mike, who remembered me BY NAME. He handed me the apron to review and I was stunned with how great it looked. It was better than I could have imagined on my own. To top it off, when I asked them if I could please tip since they did such an extraordinarily good job, I was told instead to donate to a charity of my choice. Holy smokes. I only wish I had more things to embroider so I could give Webster's more of my business. To say I'll be returning is an understatement.

Now, while there are still some good stores, it is showing its age and there are seemingly more local businesses than national chains. The food court has decent dining options. We opted for Chick-fil-A. There's a play area for kids, too, which was nice for killing time -- but, like the mall, could use a refresh. Overall, Castleton is a serviceable mall, but nothing special.

Spring colors were everywhere. I encountered several clerks who asked if I needed help. The check out area is in the back of the store, which I found a bit odd.
