Rude, condescending, and not worth your time or money. If you're a woman looking for gear, or…read morecommon respect, look elsewhere. The most dismissive, unprofessional fitting I've ever experienced. First off this store has walls of men's golf shoes and barely a dozen for women. I arrived early for a 7:00 fitting, was ignored past my appointment, and when help finally came I was told to "just buy a box set" because custom clubs were "much more expensive"--without even asking my budget. I explained I wanted a proper fitting since my swing has changed, but instead I was talked down to, shown a men's chart, handed a club in two minutes, and met with eye-rolling when I asked if this was the fitting process. At that point I politely said "I am just going to leave", the employee told me, "Yes, you should.go" I was floored...am I in the twilight zone? The manager was no better--dismissive and more concerned about closing time than addressing the issue. The entire experience was demeaning, unprofessional, and insulting. I'll buy my new gear elsewhere--it's their loss.

I walked to the back of the store and again walked around looking and saw three other associates talking behind a desk in what I'm confident was not business critical as they were laughing, etc. I walked by them multiple times and not ask if I needed any help. I was cool without them acknowledging me as I was just exploring at the time. When I approached the desk and asked for help with selecting a new beginner set, the gentleman that took a pause out of the three came from behind the desk and was very helpful. Selected a reasonably priced set, gloves, explained several things to me, and asked if I needed help carrying all the stuff I purchased. The cashier was very nice and reminded me to use hand sanitizer, made a couple friendly jokes/banter as I was checking out. The place has other things to offer such as simulation, lessons, etc. I was not informed or offered any information about these services. Being new to the sport, I would have taken advantage of some services but didn't feel welcomed. A missed opportunity on the stores part but that's fine. I got what I came for and confident I found lessons and a simulator to help me learn golf at another place at a cheaper price. customer service with attention to details and listening pays dividends! I'm not saying to stay away but I'm not eager to return.

From there, he was able to see my backswing and my follow through. He exposed a few things that I could improve. After he analyzed my swing with high speed cameras and the most current technology, he advised where to improve. I immediately saw a correction in my swing. I would push the ball left, consistently. From the advice he gave me, now I have a 3 to 5 yard draw and I hit higher and farther. I have never have my 7-iron 190-200 yards until now. This was definitely worth it and I would recommend anyone looking for lessons for advice to visit Jason at GolfTec.

My instructor is Joel. He is a very patient, polite, nice guy. He walks me through what I need to do rather than being critical of what I am doing wrong. The facility is easily accessible, clean, and comfortable. They have an instruction room with really cool technology. Also, they have three practice rooms with the techno stuff. I bought a package of practice sessions so I can go in, with a scheduled time, and practice my shots with the technology that shows my flight path of the ball, distance in flight, and distance from tee with the final rollout on the ball. In real life, out on the course, I have reduced my score by 5-8 strokes, am hitting greens on par 3s, and driving the ball further and straighter. My approach shots are more accurate and chipping is lots better. I am headed to FL for the winter where I will have many chances to use my new found skills. Bob C

This Indy park spans 85 acres and dates back to 1963. It was formerly known as Northeastway, as has…read morea lot of amenities to offer. The park has a golf course across the street but I did not go visit over there. It does look like a nice course and the have a driving range and a small club house there. The park has a decent amount of parking available. I would caution you though, when walking on the green space, be carful. The grounds gets very soggy after some precipitation. I almost lost my shoe in the mud a couple of times. The park itself has a vast amount of green space that could be used for activities such as soccer, football, a picnic, flying a kite, or playing catch. You will find a 18 hole disc golf course near the front of the park. it appeared to be a good course. There were a ton of people playing on it while I was there. In the vicinity of the disc golf course, next to a pavilion is a horse shoe pit. The pit has seen better days, but will do to satisfy your horse shoe itch. The park also has three shelters and a large pavilion available to rent. They all have picnic tables under them and grills just outside of them. The shelters are in mediocre shape and could use some renovating. The pavilion is near the tennis and volleyball courts and is decent. The park's full basketball court was nice though. It almost had me lace up and make it rain. Next to the basketball court is two nice sand volleyball courts that are fenced in and 2 sets of 2 tennis courts, for a total of 4.The tennis courts are in pretty good shape and are both fenced in too, with a low fence being in the center. The park has a playground, but it has old and limited equipment. It is on a bed of wood chips and its equipment consists of a large ADA accessible jungle gym with monkey rings, slides, and a bridge, a bank of toddler swings, a bank of traditional swings, and a ADA swing. My little guy was not feeling it. The park has a nice looking water park attached to it. There is a lot to do in the park from what I see. However, it was closed for the season during my visit so I could only view the empty pools from a far. This park has a lot of potential, but the amenities need to be updated and the grounds need to be a bit better maintained. There was trash all over the place at shelter #3 near the back of the park. They say the park has restrooms, but I could not find them while I was there.

Dick's has a monopoly on track cleats, apparently. It's the only place I could find around Indy…read morethat actually sells them in person. Cleats are the kind of shoes you need to try on in person, because you don't want to eff around with running shoes. So if you're looking for cleats, they got a lotta them here! Lots of colors to choose from, and they range from $60 to $180. Guess which ones my kid gravitated to? We tried some on, which was easy to do because there were many people around to help us. But if you visit and you can't find someone, this Dick's has a kiosk in the shoe section where you can request shoes to try on, and someone will hypothetically materialize from somewhere and bring them to you. I like this Dick's in Castleton because it tends to have more product in stock than the one in Carmel. But I also like Dick's in general (that's what she said) because it was one of the stores I could convince my kids to visit with me when they were younger. We would ride the escalator up and down, and sit in the canoes, and climb into the tents, and see who could punch the punching bag the hardest. Who knew that Dick's could be entertaining as well as a place to find sporting goods? Good times. Now, my kids come with me to Dick's to try to convince me to drop $200 on shoes they're going to wear for four weeks. Take me back to the canoe!

I checked online…read moreto make sure they would have what I needed before making the trip from the Meridian and 91st street area where I was attending a doctor's office for the day and had a chance to shop while on my lunch break. I was looking for Merrell hiking shoes to replace the Vasque shoes I have been wearing for the last ten years. I have been wearing high end hiking shoes as everyday footwear since I discovered mountain trail hiking in Tucson back in 2002. Their online web site said they had a pair normally retailing for $120 on sale for $80 but it must have been online only since I could not find it in the store. This store did not carry Vasque but I had previously owned a pair of Merrell shoes and knew they were good quality and would last a long time. They offered two choices which were waterproof and not waterproof. I chose the waterproof although I liked the color of the non-waterproof better. The pair I chose were basically brown and I was hoping to get a different color since I had been wearing brown for so long. They offered two other colors, an olive green and a lighter color online but they did not appeal to me. I was hoping for a dark gray or something to match black and jeans better. Service was only so-so. Another customer and I waited in the shoe department for someone to wait on us while other employees looked at us but didn't assist us. It's not like we can help ourselves. Someone has to go in the back and grab a box and bring it out for us to try on. Eventually someone came to help me but the other customer gave up and left. Checking out was equally frustrating. Two cashiers both stuck with customers for a long time, one bickering over a return and not getting a full credit. This is where other stores have a separate counter for these issues so customers who want to simply pay and go can do so without a long wait and no one getting checked out. Standing in line or waiting to be helped while multiple other employees seem to be available to help is frustrating.
