Best PINA COLADA in key west!!! $10 for the refillable souvenir coozie mug with, totally worth it when it's 90+ degree out there! $7 to refill thereafter! Pina colada 3 days in a row for me (2-3 refills/day!), have tried others but nothing catches my tongue :) You can actually taste the coconut bits and most importantly it's very frozen considered it's super hot out! I have gotten other melted Pina colada before and believe me, it's not great... Ask for taster cups to taste all other flavors! read more

Yes! Finally found a good restaurant in this over priced island. I ordered the cuban pork sandwich and was blown away. It was loaded with with pork. Priced to sell!! The other really fun part to this restaurant is there large frozen drink menu. It reminds me of a 7-11adult version of the slurpee. But more than fake flavors. They actual put real fruit and ingredients. The staff were super nice and brought plenty of tasters. Def a must stop for your trip. Alexander was our waiter. You would have thought he was just starting his shift and not ending it. Impeccable manners and so friendly. I hope he is recognized. read more

Much like NOLA, it seems like one has to have some sort of frozen, slushy alcoholic drink when in Key West, and The Flying Monkey serves such a purpose. I ordered the Miami Vice, pina colada w/ strawberry daiquiri, and it was ok. The good news is that there was definitely alcohol in it, which is not always a given considering that many establishments skimp on the alcohol when they serve slushies. That was definitely not the case here, as there was perhaps too much alcohol in the drink. But I'd rather have too much than too little, especially given the prices. The best part of The Flying Monkey however, is the people watching. It's located right in the heart of all the action in Key West and is a great spot to watch all the craziness that is taking place around you. The reason for the 3 stars is partially due to the fact that frozen alcoholic slushies aren't my thing, and more importantly, the drink I had wasn't that great. But if you are into frozen slushies, and you want to people watch on Duval -- this is a good spot to check-out. read more

Excellent simple American food, reasonably priced, and cold A/C if you choose to sit inside (not sure why you wouldn't in June).

Went here back in 2013 and had a Dreamsickle and Dirty Monkey. Loved the place! It was part of a pub crawl off of our Carnival Cruise. Would go back! read more

Get the refillable cup!!! Ok, so if you are visiting for any period of time in Key West, just do it! You will be back to this bar! Frozen drinks of just about everything! And just in case you don't think there is alcohol in those frozen drinks, you can get an extra shot to add to them.... which of course you would do since you are in Key West! Servers are cool. They will let you sample everything before you buy. You can purchase food from the restaurant next door. Although I never actually saw people eating at the bar. With your purchased refillable mug... you can leave the bar and travel the streets. When you are empty, come back for a refill for less then the original purchase. So of course, this was a favorite stop for me personally. read more

Lots of selections for frozen drinks. They were out of the one I wanted to try, but he recommended a close second to that. Drinks were pretty sweet for my taste. read more

Despite returning a plate the restaurant tried to charge for the plate. They added an additional charge for a drink. I had to ask to get the charges removed. The manager had a fake and insincere attitude. read more

Loved the frozen drinks here. The grape ape and strawberry margarita were absolutely delicious. Went twice during our stay and wished I could have went more. Will be the first drink I have anytime I am in key west. read more

Susan is exceptional! We came from out of town and she really made us feel at home. I wouldn't go to any other bar. Thank you Susan! Cheers to you! read more

Sampled my fair share of Mojitos on the island and this is the best, my friends. Cheers. read more

Flying Monkeys - Patio. - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Key West, Florida

The place has a great calm and rustic vibe, it gives a good view of nearby buildings. In my visit there were no flaws that were apparent. Server is quick and nice. Overall great experience. (Great spot to cool down after walking for a few hours.) read more

Great drinks! They are all in slushie machines pre made. The place is mainly outdoor. There are bar seats right by the restaurant fence facing the sidewalk directly. read more

See all

Very bad hostess - there're tables available at the garden and she made us to sit at the higher table with wobbly chairs. After we noticed there are some lower/normal tables available and pointed out to her, she said she can't move us because we need to sit at the section where the same waitress is serving. How ridiculous is that?! Extremely slow service and you just cannot be less attentive and rude than this. Avoid at all cost read more

Great flavors and decent pricing. This was our third try for frozen drink bars. Flying monkeys has the best variety and the strongest alcohol too!! read more

I did not think I would find a place with better daiquiris than Fat Tuesday. I was wrong. The Flying Monkey has some awesome tasting daiquiris with a more "natural" flavor. It was pretty packed when we came but it was super easy to order a drink. I didn't spend much time here but I did get two daiquiris, so there's that. read more

The lettuce wraps were delicious! Huge portion that you could probably share with 2 other people. It came with peanut sauce and teriyaki. Loved the peanut sauce, I even asked for more! Conch Chowder was just okay. Tasted more like a vegetable soup. Service was good, and drinks were constantly filled read more

I only had drinks at the bar, so I cannot attest to the restaurant - but the Allaire drinks at the bar are amazing. I tried a Banana Breeze (vodka, vanilla ice cream, bananas) & it was surprisingly really good. I also tried The Flying Monkey (mix of howler & ruby roo). It was very very good as well. The ruby roo is a nice rasberry fruity drink. If you like rasberry, you'll love it. The Howler isn't my favorite, but it's not bad. Good, fun atmosphere. Great bar tenders. read more

this was a highlight of recent trip to the Florida Keys. These taste like kids drinks they are so full of flavor. White Russian one tasted like a milkshake it was so great. read more

Flying monkeys is absolutely incredible. My wife has thrown up twice from the piña coladas here and it's still her favorite drink in key west. I will stop by this establishment every time we walk past it no matter what. read more

My husband loved this place on our vacation to Key West. They have a great range of slushy drinks.

Plenty of outdoor seating with misters and fans! Good frozen drinks and your typical bar food- sandwiches burgers ect. Blackend shrimp wrap was very good! read more

One of my favorite stops on the bar crawling in Key West! Right on Duval street! Good luck prices and absolutely delicious! Anything with strawberry tastes like you are drinking real strawberries! So good! There were a lot of different flavors and the options of Mix and match were great as well! Definitely coming back here! Bartender friendly and experienced! Had a great stop here! read more

When you are really ready to party step up to the bar at The Flying Monkey and order any of the frozen drinks. Are they good? Well, my drink tasted like burning alcohol so if you like that flavor then the answer to this question is yes. For $10 you can get one of these concoctions in a commemorative cup complete with a lid and koozie so it doesn't get warm too fast. And if that isn't big enough for you they do sell drinks by the yard, too. read more

We really enjoyed our lunch and the staff at this place! Food was good, prices reasonable for "resort town" and the staff went the extra-mile. All of the food we saw being served looked great. My friend had the oriental chicken salad, which was huge, and beautifully presented. Hubby had the club sandwich, which was one if the better he says he has ever had. I had the Quesada, which was tasty, and modified as ordered. Our drinks were refilled promptly and my friend enjoyed the Crazy Lady draft from the local brewery. I would highly recommend. read more

Awesome spot to grab frozen drinks, especially on a hot day. Make sure to buy the souvenir cup, because you'll be back at least two more times and will want both the discount and the quantity of frozen goodness. Some of the popular flavors in our group were the Banana, the Ruby Roo (raspberry), the Mudslide, the White Russian, and a half Pina Colada/half Banana. As others noted, sitting at the bar along Duval makes for a great spot to people watch while you enjoy your frosty beverage. Haven't ordered the food here, but the burgers look absolutely huge. Definitely make sure Flying Monkeys is part of your Duval itinerary! read more

The Flying Monkey is my favorite spot in Key West for fruity drinks. It is located outside and attached to Fogarty's. There are several daiquiri machines lining the walls. My favorite is the banana flavored one but they all look pretty tasty. The price isn't too bad and you can choose to drink your daiquiri there or wander down Duval with it. A nice outdoor bar with a laid back atmosphere! read more

The best place for frozen drinks. Unbelievable amount of choices and combinations. No other place heed comes close.

Another good outdoor bar with frozen drinks and seats that face Duval Street for great people-watching. They also had TVs to watch all of the college football games. Potent daiquiris+college football=one happy gal! read more

It's difficult for me not to rate this place 5 stars but I don't want my love to key west and duval st in general to influence my rating. This is usually the first place we get a drink when we get into town and the last one before we call it hits on our last night. My 2 favorites would be the White Russian and grain train. You have to come here if you're in the keys and on duval. read more

Considering the number of places to get a drink on Duvall, this joint stands out, selling dozens of daquiried drinks. Last time I saw this many daquiri machines was at the daquiri factory in Austin Texas. I had the Grape Ape and the Flying Monkey, and both were excellent. You could taste the alcohol, unlike many of the daquiris and margaritas that you can buy in south Florida. Prices are a little high ($7), but considering the location and quality of drink, it's still a deal. read more

First time in Florida and I must say... The rum runners and food was really delicious!! Lettuce wraps were the best!!

Slushee heaven! Ruby Roo and White Russian were hits. I need one of these in my hometown!

Great drinks, great service, great location, great people, watching, decent music, and okay prices. Opt for the extra shot in your drink, it's worth it. The cups, are worth holding on to as well. Easy to get In and get out relatively quick with a to-go drink. read more

Has the bet selection of slushy style drinks we found in Key West. Had a couple of drinks (rum and Coke and The Flying Monkey) both were good. I'd recommend getting one of their slushy drinks on a hot day. read more

If you love to people watch this is the place for you! They have bar seating right on Duval Street, across from Garden of Eden. We stopped several times to drink slushies and watch the free entertainment that Duval Street offers. They offer a wide variety of adult slushies but my favorite was the Banana Breeze. If you are in the area for a while the refillable coozie mug is the way to go. It's $10 to purchase then $7 for each refill! Grab a slushie then walk Duval - you won't be disappointed! read more

Good stuff!! Tasty wall of drink flavors, and several suggestions on how to mix them together to enhance your alcohol intake experience. I opted to get the extra shot in it, because, why not? It was yummy, and refreshing, and I wanted more, but I stopped myself. Yay for Key West! read more

Daiquiri's anyone...they have a wall of machines to mix to your liking...Its not a huge bar but the bartenders are fast and the drinks are good. Another Duval St. classic! But as all frozen Key West concoctions they are pricy...buy the refillable cups and the refills are cheaper. read more

Great place to people watch! If you're looking for good frozen drinks, it's a great place to go. The Banana drink had real bananas in it!

Like most other reviewers, I agree that this place is good to just chill, people watch, and drink. Frozen drinks were good, but not strong so I suggest the extra shot. I would assume this place is better for lunch since the food is ok. We got the blackened shrimp wrap, definitely get the dressing on the side. Just too much when added already. Staff friendly and food came out quickly. Three stars based on comfort (sat on uncomfortable high top bar stools) and food. read more
