Catch of the day, red snapper blackened over rice

It's a nice little outside restaurant/bar on Duval street. Kind of a tiki vibe. I think there is an inside but I ate outside... misters and fans kept it comfortable. I had the catch of the day and flounder bites because I was halfway thru the duval crawl and had drunk enough to kill a steer. I had one of their signature cocktails ( it was frozen and vaguely red... I was hammered, it was good... flounder was fresh and well prepared. Catch of the day was red snapper blackened with rice ( I should have ordered fries for the absorption value) again fresh and well prepared... waitress was nice curvy and age appropriate. Overall solid restaurant in a decent bar.

One can't visit Key West without stopping by Flying Monkeys for a frozen concoction loaded with some sort of alcohol. Whether it's rum, vodka, tequila or all three, Flying Monkeys is well worth the visit.

I go to Key West and there are always a few places we have to stop by. While my frozen drink days are over, I will still have me a Flying Monkey! Refreshing for hot days on Duval. Fogarty's definitely hits the spot as well.

a plate of tacos and rice

I loved the outdoor seating, lets you people watch while you eat lunch. I got the blackened fish tacos. I'm just gonna start out by saying that usually when you are served beans and rice, it's just a side dish that is a filler. Not here. The rice was moist, seasoned lightly and the beans layered over top. Extremely superb side! The taco: fish was perfectly cooked and I loved the crispy red cabbage slaw with a little bit of tartness from the avocado dressing. Also, don't know how they did it. I feel like they possibly skillet fried the ingredients and then put it in the tortilla, but the cheese was even a little crispy crunchy, perfection in my book.

We didn't order food but had drinks and they were delicious! So many to choose from! Ordered from the outdoor bar and the service was great! Super friendly. The ambiance from the outdoor patio was fun and lively. Refreshing! A definite stop when in Key West!

Best frozen drinks in Key West! The prices were amazing. Make sure to get the cups with straw for the 10$ refills. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant and the ambiance was tons of fun! It's right on Duval Street where all the action is. Highly recommended!

The decor is seductive in such a tasteful and classy way, everything is so romantic. It's beautiful. Cozy, intimate booths. Sparkling chandeliers flickering in candlelight. Ambient lighting. It is a perfect place to end your evening with your partner. We made reservations the morning of, on a Wednesday evening for our anniversary, and were seated promptly. Service was incredible from start to finish. I appreciate their ipad menus with questions to ask your partner, peruse the menu, and read about the origins. There are plenty of drinks and deserts with double entendre names, they're so fun. Huge positive that they have virgin drinks, and several to choose from. Both deserts we tried were out of the world delicious. The missionary crisp ice cream and flavor was 10/10, no notes to improve. Key lime from behind was the best key lime I've had in my life and quickly became the best we have tried on Key West. Incredible and what a lovely place!!

Romantic lighting and private booths made for some good ambiance. The iPad menus were great and very useful in selecting desserts and drinks. Everything on order is accompanied by a double entendre title, which makes it fun to pick. Candy rimmed beer was good; and the berry crisp and ice cream offerings were tasty. Honestly too big, even for two. But they were trying to do something different. To know: they do not have a license for hard liquor. A fun spot to have a sweet treat. Maybe don't bring the kids.

I'm very active and finding protein options while traveling can be tough, but they accommodated my diet perfectly without needing to make modifications. The breakfast bowl with tofu is amazing, and the veggie burger is hands down one of the best I've had, and they recently switched to gluten free breadcrumbs as a binder so it's truly gluten free! 11/10 on the service scale as they started remembering my order and making me feel at home! They give out cool names for those waiting for tables, and the overall vibe here is not a tacky island style restaurant, more of a local, hometown, favorite. Their bakery items include plenty of options for gluten free guests, and everything I had from there was also amazing. Highly recommend!

They all were pretty good but nothing stood out. The star of the show that is pictured is their infamous Key Lime Pie. This pie was a hefty slice ($13) and more than enough to share. The meringue was toasted perfectly, the filling had a delicious tartness to it but the crust was so hard! We could barely cut the bottom of the pie because this crust was so hard. Eventually, we just ate the filling and meringue without the crust due to the hassle. I wasn't as amazed as I expected to be from the praises this restaurant gets but I would be willing to try again. The food came out very quickly and the customer service was great!

Both Husband and I ordered the special omelette, with lobster, bacon, and tomato. The dish was rich and delicious, with an entire lobster tail and plenty of bacon. To top it off, the omelette was accompanied by a slice of banana bread. We were not impressed by the key lime pie. Although the pie looks impressive, topped by a huge mound of meringue, it tasted a bit stale. Its consistency was heavy, and the meringue flavorless. I appreciated that recommendation! For context, I'm not a big key lime pie person. I love key lime flavored things like cookies and candy, but the pie itself has never really been my favorite. But again... when in Key West, you know the rest, lol! I gave it a try, and honestly, I was surprised. It was actually good. Probably the best key lime pie I've had. It tasted very different from the ones I've tried in Dade and Broward County. Its ike they used real key lime, which made a noticeable difference. The crust was my favorite part. It was perfectly crunchy and tasted homemade, which paired so well with the filling. Even the whipped cream on top was delicious. I will say, if I were a true key lime pie lover, I'd probably be obsessed, if that makes sense, lol. Overall, great experience. We're not huge fans of soft serve, mainly because the flavors and textures can feel limited. Rooster Treats makes up for that with the generous amount of toppings you can add.
